Abstract

This development research aims to describe the quality of learning media for Student Worksheets (LKPD) with a contextual approach to class VIII statistics material. The quality of development products is assessed based on: 1) aspects of validity, 2) aspects of practicality, and 3) aspects of effectiveness. The learning media development procedure refers to the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. The subject of this study was a student of class VIII MTs Bahrul Ulum Blawi Lamogan. The instruments used to obtain data on the quality of the learning tools developed are: 1) LKPD validation sheets to measure validity, 2) questionnaires of student and teacher responses to measure practicality, 3) tests of student learning outcomes to measure effectiveness. The results of this development research show that the quality of the validity of learning media meeting the very valid criteria is indicated by an average score of 3.50 by media experts and an average score of 3.27 by material experts from a maximum score of 4. The quality of practicality of learning tools meeting practical criteria is indicated by the average student response score of 3.01 from a maximum score of 4, the average score of teacher responses which is 3.43 from a maximum score of 4. The quality of the effectiveness of learning tools is seen from the results of student learning tests with a percentage of student completion.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pola penyebaran agama Islam di Desa Kuningan, Kabupaten Blitar, yang dilakukan oleh dua tokoh, yaitu Syekh Abu Hasan dan Syekh Abu Manshur dan juga dialektika islam dan sosial budaya di desa Kuningan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan wawancara dan observasi lapangan dan juga dengan melakukan FGD dengan tokoh dan keturunan Syekh Abu Hasan dan Syekh Abu Mansur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses dialektika Islam dan budaya lokal berlangsung secara harmonis melalui pola negosiasi dan penyesuaian nilai. Kehadiran ajaran Islam tidak menghilangkan budaya lokal, namun memberi arah baru yang lebih berlandaskan nilai-nilai tauhid, etika sosial, dan penguatan moral masyarakat. Budaya lokal tetap dipertahankan sebagai identitas sosial masyarakat, namun mengalami proses islamisasi pada aspek-aspek tertentu, seperti pengubahan unsur-unsur ritual yang sebelumnya bersifat magis menjadi lebih bernuansa doa, sedekah, dan syukur kepada Allah. Praktik sosial keagamaan masyarakat Desa Kuningan menunjukkan integrasi yang kuat, misalnya dalam tradisi selamatan, tahlilan, manaqiban, gotong royong, slametan desa, dan kegiatan sosial masjid. Semua kegiatan tersebut memiliki landasan budaya lokal tetapi dimaknai secara Islami. Masyarakat menunjukkan pola penerimaan selektif terhadap budaya lokal, yakni mempertahankan unsur budaya yang tidak bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam dan meninggalkan praktik yang dianggap tidak sesuai dengan nilai tauhid. Peran tokoh agama dan tokoh masyarakat sangat signifikan dalam menjaga keseimbangan antara nilai-nilai Islam dan kearifan lokal, terutama melalui dakwah kultural, kegiatan masjid, dan pendidikan keagamaan. Dialektika Islam dan budaya lokal memperkuat kohesi sosial, terbukti dari tingginya solidaritas, gotong royong, rasa kekeluargaan, dan struktur sosial masyarakat yang terbangun di Desa Kuningan kab Blitar.

Abstract

This study examines the potential of pectin from green grass jelly (Cyclea barbata) leaves in industrial and educational applications. Pectin, as a natural thickening agent, shows good quality in food products such as jam, jelly, and gel-based drinks, providing a healthier and more environmentally friendly alternative compared to synthetic thickeners. In addition, green grass jelly pectin also has potential in non-food applications, such as biopolymers in the oil and pharmaceutical industries, providing a more sustainable solution in the polymer flooding process and the development of medical biomaterials. This study also explores the role of pectin in integrated science learning, by integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and ethnoscience approaches to improve students' understanding of scientific concepts and practical applications of science based on local natural resources. Through project-based experiments, students can understand the pectin extraction process and its application in real life. This pectin-based learning model also supports 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. Overall, green grass jelly leaf pectin offers great potential in supporting industrial sustainability as well as education that is more contextual and relevant to current environmental challenges.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students in arithmetic, especially in whole number material, so that there are still many students who get learning outcomes that do not meet the minimum completeness criteria. The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of manual versus digital learning media collaboration on learning outcomes and student responses. The research design used was a pre-experimental design with a One-Shot Case Study design. The One-Shot Case Study research design is research that collects data from one group that is given treatment, then carries out a posttest, and a response questionnaire is given. The posttest results were analyzed based on the minimum regulatory criteria (KKM). Based on the results of data analysis, classical student learning outcomes show that 80% of students have met the minimum completeness criteria. Meanwhile, the results of the student response questionnaire also showed a positive response with a score of 91%. This means that the collaboration between manual versus digital learning media is effective because it is able to improve student learning outcomes and is able to provide positive responses to students.

Abstract

This article reports on a quasi-experimental, embedded mixed-methods study that examined whether, and for whom, captioned and non-captioned extensive listening (EL) differentially affect the listening fluency (LF) of English as a foreign language (EFL) pre-service teachers, while attending to the moderating role of foreign language listening anxiety (FLLA). A total of 126 third-semester student teachers at two private universities in East Java, Indonesia, were classified into high- and low-FLLA groups by means of Kim’s (2000) Foreign Language Listening Anxiety Scale and taught across a fourteen-week treatment, with a listening fluency test delivered at 160 words per minute administered before and after the intervention. Paired-samples and independent-samples t-tests, together with a two-way analysis of variance, indicated that captioned EL produced statistically significant gains for both anxiety groups, whereas non-captioned EL benefited only low-FLLA learners; a significant interaction (p = .028) revealed that the effect of input mode was contingent upon the learners’ anxiety level. Qualitative data drawn from perception surveys, observation, and interviews further suggested that captions functioned as a compensatory scaffold that supported word recognition and mitigated anxiety. Three pedagogical implications are advanced, and further investigative endeavor into captioned EL in EFL teacher education is invited.
