Abstract

This study aims to analyse the relationship between communication skills, collaboration, and metacognition to student learning outcomes in the subject of Chemical Engineering Operations. Communication skills refer to students' skills in conveying ideas, discussing, and understanding concepts through verbal and nonverbal interactions. Collaboration includes student cooperation in solving chemical engineering problems as a team, while metacognition refers to students' awareness of the thinking process and learning strategies used. Learning outcomes are measured through students' conceptual understanding and practical skills in completing chemical engineering operational tasks, such as process calculations, system analysis, and operational efficiency evaluations. The study uses a quantitative method with a correlational approach to measure the influence of these variables on learning outcomes. The research sample consisted of students in the Chemical Engineering class at SMK Negeri Ngasem, with a total of 100 respondents who were randomly selected. Data was collected through learning outcome tests, observation sheets, questionnaires, and interviews. The results of the analysis showed that communication skills, collaboration, and metacognition had a significant influence on student learning outcomes. Collaboration and metacognition skills make a more dominant contribution than communication. This study concludes that improving communication, collaboration, and metacognition skills in an integrated manner can improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Chemical Engineering Operations. Thus, it is recommended that educators integrate active learning strategies that focus on group discussions, problem-based learning, and metacognitive reflection to support more effective learning.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of the Wood Glossary app to assist students in understanding the specifications and characteristics of wood. This application is designed to provide clearer and more accessible information about different types of wood, its properties, and its applications in the industrial world. The improvement of student learning outcomes is achieved through the interactive and visual methods offered by the application. Students can learn a variety of wood-related technical terms in a more fun and less monotonous way, as the app provides images, easy-to-understand explanations, and a quick search feature. Research conducted shows that with the use of Wood Glossary, students are not only faster in understanding the material being taught, but also more motivated to learn. The success of this application shows that technology can be an effective tool in supporting the learning process, especially in studying complex topics such as wood specifications and characteristics. Overall, the Wood Glossary app has been proven to improve students' understanding, enrich their learning experience, and help them to better apply the knowledge gained in practical contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the application of the Cooperative Learning model in improving student learning outcomes in Music Arts subjects. Cooperative Learning is a collaborative learning approach that encourages students to work in groups to achieve shared learning goals. In the context of Music Arts, this model provides opportunities for students to share ideas, explore creativity, and develop musical skills through collaboration. The research method used is quasi-experiment with control group design and experiment. The results show that the application of Cooperative Learning can significantly improve learning outcomes compared to conventional learning methods. In addition, students showed increased learning motivation, communication skills, and active participation during the learning process. These findings show that Cooperative Learning is effectively used to teach the art of music with a creative, collaborative, and fun approach.

Abstract

The application of positivism learning methods that focus on empirical experience and sensory observation provides a scientific foundation in the learning process. This study examines the effectiveness of using learning videos as a medium to support the positivism approach in improving student learning outcomes. Video media was chosen because of its ability to present abstract concepts to be more concrete, attract students' interest, and facilitate independent learning. The results of the study show that the integration of positivism methods with learning videos can significantly improve concept understanding, student engagement, and achievement of learning outcomes. These findings emphasize the importance of utilizing visual-based technology in conveying complex subject matter. The selection of relevant video content and interactive learning strategies can also maximize results. This approach offers great potential for educators to create a more effective and enjoyable learning experience for students.

Abstract

Student motivation and learning outcomes are important aspects of the learning process that determine the success of education. This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of the application of the peer tutor method in improving student motivation and learning outcomes. The results of the study show that the peer tutor method can increase students' motivation to learn through more active interaction, a pleasant learning atmosphere, and emotional support from peers. The application of the peer tutor method provides opportunities for students to share knowledge with each other, strengthen the concepts learned, and increase their confidence in completing learning tasks. This study recommends that this method be applied sustainably with good management to create more meaningful and inclusive learning.

Abstract

The development of e-learning-based learning media is an innovation in the world of education that aims to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the teaching and learning process. This research aims to develop learning media that are interactive, easily accessible, and in accordance with the needs of students in the digital era. The results showed that the implementation of this media in the classroom showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes and their active participation during learning. Additionally, features such as interactive videos, online quizzes, and discussion forums help create an engaging and collaborative learning experience. E-learning-based learning media not only supports distance learning but also enriches face-to-face learning by providing flexible and technology-based resources. Further development recommendations include integration with artificial intelligence (AI) and personalization of learning content to meet the individual needs of students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on improving student learning outcomes in Engineering Mechanics subjects. CTL is a learning approach that relates academic material to real-world situations, so that students can more easily understand concepts and apply them in everyday life. The research population is class X students of the building engineering expertise program at SMK Negeri 2 Bojonegoro, which includes an understanding of the concept of Engineering Mechanics, as well as observation sheets of student learning activities. The results show that the application of the CTL model significantly improves student learning outcomes. Students who learn with the CTL model also show higher active engagement during the learning process. Based on these findings, the CTL model is recommended to be applied in the learning of Engineering Mechanics, as it can help students understand the concepts in depth and relevant to practical applications in the construction world.

Abstract

The transformation of the field trip method from mere observation to reflection in modern learning reflects efforts to integrate direct experience with critical thinking to support the achievement of more meaningful learning outcomes. This article discusses the paradigm shift in the implementation of field trips, which previously only focused on observation in the field, towards an approach that involves an experience-based reflective process. In the context of 21st century education, this method is integrated with interactive technology and project-based learning strategies, allowing students to explore, analyse, and connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications holistically. This study shows that a reflective approach improves students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and emotional engagement. Thus, the transformation of this field trip method not only revolutionizes the way learning is carried out but also prepares students to become independent learners who are ready to face the challenges of the modern world. The results of this research can be the basis for the development of education policies that are more adaptive to the needs of students in the digital era.

Abstract

Technology-based learning, particularly the use of Virtual Reality (VR) in education, has been proven to provide significant benefits for both students and teachers by enhancing conceptual understanding and increasing learning enthusiasm. Research shows that VR not only boosts students' interest and motivation to learn, but also enables them to interact directly and visualize complex concepts such as the digestive system, respiratory system, biodiversity, global warming, the excretory system, the solar system, environmental pollution, and others. However, challenges such as high costs, technology availability, and the need for additional teacher training must be addressed to optimize the use of VR in education. Recommendations for further development include diversifying VR content and features, as well as broader integration into educational curricula. With its potential to transform learning paradigms into more interactive and engaging experiences, VR offers tremendous opportunities for students across various educational levels.

Abstract

Indonesia's national education aims to develop the potential of students, one of which is through the cultivation of moral education. Moral education seeks to instill moral values and good character in students’ lives so that they become individuals with noble character. One effective method for shaping students' character is through the recitation of Juz ‘Amma. This study aims to explore the implementation of Juz ‘Amma recitation at SDI Nurul Hidayah as a strategy for moral education. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Based on the findings, the Juz ‘Amma recitation activities implemented at SDI Nurul Hidayah have proven effective in fostering students’ moral development. The routine of reciting Juz ‘Amma before lessons begin creates a religious environment and reinforces positive habits among students. Moreover, the recitation of Juz ‘Amma helps students to understand the moral values contained in the verses of the Qur’an, such as honesty, patience, and piety.
