Abstract

Psychological problems that occur in DM patients need to be a serious concern. Psychological problems that occur in DM casein can be caused by health changes that occur due to natural DM disease. The purpose of this systematic search is to determine the benefits and implementation of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in improving psychological symptoms in diabetes mellitus patients. Article search using systematic review method conducted on several electronic databases such as EBSCOhost, ProQuest, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and International Archives of Health Science. The selected article is a study that uses an intervention design with a sample of diabetes mellitus patients, measures at least 1 psychological symptom, and is published in the last 10 years. Search results showed that 12 articles met the criteria for analysis. The psychological symptoms most often measured in these articles are depression, anxiety, and distress. The results showed that ACT was effective in improving psychological symptoms in diabetes mellitus patients. The implementation of ACT consists of 6 – 10 sessions and several articles recommend including diabetes education in the initial session of giving ACT. ACT is effective for treating psychological problems such as depression, anxiety, and distress in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Surabaya Medical Service Hospital has problems in implementing the hospital promotion program which is less effective, which is only known and felt by 56% of the total respondents who use services at Surabaya Medical Service Hospital. The aim of this research is to determine the priority order of available alternative strategies using the Analytic Hierarchy Process to increase the effectiveness of promotional program strategies at the Surabaya Medical Service Hospital. This research uses a cross sectional method with a mixed method approach which combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. This research sample consists of two categories, visiting patients and marketing management at the Surabaya Medical Service Hospital. Abstract

Emergency nursing is specialized nursing that focuses on care that requires immediate medical attention to avoid long-term disability or death. During the COVID-19 pandemic, emergency nurses are on the front lines and must be prepared, and must be able to sort and select patients safely. However, emergency nursing services are very risky in transmitting exposure to the COVID-19 virus. This study aims to assess and compare the levels of mental and emotional disorders, depression, and anxiety suffered by emergency room nurses in the Intensive Care Unit, Operating Room, and Emergency Room. In this comparative study, we collected data from 92 nurses using a cross-sectional correlation design. In addition to the Sociodemographic Characterization, Psychoemotional Disorder Scale, Depression Scale, and COVID-19 Anxiety Scale. Levels of depression were higher in operating room nurses than in the intensive care unit and emergency room nurses (54.17 ± 14.08 vs 48.53 ± 11.92, p<0.01). (48.36 ± 13.40 vs 45.74 ± 11.79, p < 0.01). The pandemic is having a significant impact on the mental health of emergency room caregivers. New specific support measures should be formulated. More research is needed to focus on the psychological resilience of emergency department nurses.

Abstract

Genetic research is a breakthrough in the field of molecular biology which has been proven to contribute to health both in diagnosis and therapy. To support the achievement of these competencies, health students need to view the importance of genetic studies in humans. A person's understanding of a subject is greatly influenced by a person's cognition and the information they absorb. Using a survey approach to students and stakeholders of health science universities. The aim of this study to obtain an overview of health students' understanding of the urgency of genetic research in humans. The level of student understanding of the meaning of genetics is considered quite good with an average score of 2.10 on a scale of 0 – 3. Based on the assessment of various genetic research titles, students' understanding of the urgency of genetic research in humans is relatively high, with an average score of 3.19 on a scale of 1-4. There were no differences in student assessments regarding the urgency of genetic research in humans in each class. Significant differences based on generation appear in students' preferences for research on human genetics.

The prevalence of cancer cases in children continues to increase, requiring appropriate and high-quality management, one of which is chemotherapy. Children undergoing chemotherapy often experience fatigue problems. Fatigue is a subjective, difficult and persistent feeling of physical, emotional and cognitive fatigue in children. This condition makes the child unable to function due to decreased energy levels that cannot be recovered by rest. so this will affect the quality of life. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between fatigue and the quality of life of children with cancer undergoing chemotherapy at Dr M Djamil Hospital, Padang. The research uses a correlation analytical research design with a cross sectional study approach. The respondents in this study were 96 children undergoing chemotherapy. The instruments used were the Multidimensional Fatigue Scale and Pediatric Quality of Life Cancer Module 3.0 questionnaires. Internal consistency reliability results show Cronbach Alpha results of 0.912 for child reports and 0.910 for parent reports. Data were analyzed analysis using the Chi Square test and to identify confounding variables using multiple logistic regression analysis by looking at changes in the odds ratio value for each variable. In general, children in the preschool-school age stage (77.9%), male (54.2%), duration of chemotherapy treatment < 12 months (85.4%), have poor quality of life (55.2%), experienced severe fatigue (57.3%), and received supportive family support (52.1%). The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between fatigue and the quality of life of children undergoing chemotherapy (p < 0.001). Based on the confounding analysis, it was found that family support is the factor that has the most influence on quality of life.

Abstract

Development is an increase in abilities or skills in more complex body structures and functions gradually and regularly. One component of child development is language. The development of language and speech abilities in children involves cognitive, sensori motor, psychological, emotional and environmental development. Talking is when someone makes a sound with the aim of conveying something to another person. Children need to learn several skills to be able to speak correctly. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of oromotor massage stimulation on the development of language and speech abilities of babies aged 12-18 months at Lutuna Baby SPA. The method in this research is the approach used is one group pre test-post test design, the type of quantitative research with the research design is Praexperimental. The population in this study were all mothers who had babies aged 12-18 months and were willing to do oromotor massage, totaling 30 people. This research uses a measuring instrument, namely an observation sheet. The results of the study showed that the average difference in pretest-posttest babies' speech and language abilities was 0.933 and the p value was 0.000. This proves the influence of oromotor massage stimulation on improving the speech and language abilities of babies aged 12-18 months.
