Abstract

The elderly often experience a decline in balance, functional ability, and mobility, increasing their susceptibility to falls and serious injuries. This study aimed to identify commonly used methods for assessing fall risks in the elderly through a literature review. Methods: The review focused on individuals aged >60 years and included studies assessing fall risk factors such as physical weakness and motor reaction time improvement. Cross-sectional studies and full-text journal articles were selected from four databases (ScienceDirect, ProQuest, PubMed, and SAGE Research Methods) covering the period from January 2019 to December 2024. The inclusion criteria involved studies focusing on fall risk factors, while exclusions included COVID-19-related studies, abstracts, reviews, discussion papers, letters to editors, and articles without full texts. Results: A total of 10 journal articles involving 15,274 elderly respondents were reviewed. Demographic data included age, gender, marital status, economic status, environment, weakness, medical history, and fall history. Various assessment methods were identified, with the most frequently used being fall questionnaires (26%), MMSE (17.3%), balance and fall scales (13%), physical activity assessments (8.6%), motor reaction time tests (8.6%), and BMI evaluations (8.6%). The data showed that methods with higher usage percentages are commonly employed to determine fall risks in the elderly. Conclusions: Fall risk assessments utilize diverse methodologies, including physical tests, mental health evaluations, and interviews. Notably, fall risk measurement methods have proven effective in preventing falls in this population.

Abstract

Hemodialysis patients often experience anxiety that impacts quality of life and requires effective intervention. Murottal therapy has the potential to be an alternative to reduce anxiety, can be recommended as part of holistic care that is easy to apply and has minimal side effects for hemodialysis patients. Objectives: This literature review aims to evaluate the positive impact of Qur'anic murottal therapy on anxiety in hemodialysis patients. Methods: This study used a literature study of journal articles. Articles were searched through Google Scholar, PubMed, ResearchGate, and Semantic Scholar with the keywords “Hemodialysis”, “Anxiety”, and “Murottal Al-Qur'an” using the PCC approach. The PRISMA flowchart details the article selection process: initial identification of 462 articles, elimination of 203 duplications, exclusion of 185 articles based on irrelevant titles and abstracts, leaving 18 articles. 8 articles were again excluded after full text assessment as they did not meet the inclusion criteria. The selection process resulted in 10 final articles that met the inclusion criteria: national and international journal articles in Indonesian and English, published in 2019-2024, free full text available, and discussing murottal therapy for hemodialysis patient anxiety. Results: Out of hundreds of articles, ten articles showed consistent results that Qur'anic murottal therapy is effective in reducing the anxiety level of hemodialysis patients. Conclusion: Based on the literature analysis, Qur'anic murottal shows a positive impact as an effective therapy in overcoming anxiety in hemodialysis patients.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that can significantly impact the quality of life. Families play a crucial role as primary caregivers, providing both physical and mental support to individuals with schizophrenia. Family psychoeducation therapy is a structured intervention designed to address relapse-related challenges in schizophrenia clients. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of family psychoeducation interventions on medication adherence in schizophrenia clients. This study used a quasi-experimental design with 62 families divided randomly into intervention and control groups (31 each). Families with a member diagnosed with schizophrenia and willing to participate were included. The intervention group received four weekly psychoeducation sessions, while the control group received standard care. Medication adherence was measured using a validated scale. Data were analyzed with the Mann-Whitney U test (p < 0.05) to assess the intervention’s impact. The study found no significant effect of psychoeducation on medication adherence based on age (p = 0.968), gender (p = 0.172), and education level (p = 0.148). However, there was a significant effect of psychoeducation on medication adherence related to employment (p = 0.023), knowledge (p = 0.023), attitudes (p = 0.001), and overall adherence (p = 0.001). The family psychoeducation intervention program showed significant benefits, including improved medication adherence, better family perceptions of medication, enhanced understanding of schizophrenia, and reduced relapse rates and hospital readmissions.

Abstract

The National Health Insurance (JKN) is a government program that provides financial protection for the people of Indonesia to meet their basic healthcare needs. To improve services for the public, BPJS has introduced the Mobile JKN application. This application facilitates participants in obtaining information and administrative services related to the National Health Insurance program by utilizing information technology through a smartphone app that can be downloaded from the Play Store and App Store. Observations conducted by the researcher in RT 16 showed that out of 12 participants are still not fully familiar with the use of the Mobile JKN application. Based on preliminary studies conducted by the researcher on 10 JKN participants in RT 16, it was found that 6 participants (60%) were unaware of how to use the Mobile JKN application. Meanwhile, 4 participants (40%) knew how to use the Mobile JKN application but preferred to visit Primary Health Facilities (FKTP) instead, citing difficulties in understanding and registering for the Mobile JKN application initially. Currently, everything related to healthcare services, especially JKN, must be accessed through gadgets, starting from registration and beyond. This research is important because some JKN participants have been found to not fully understand the use and benefits of the Mobile JKN application. If the public lacks understanding of this application, it may hinder healthcare services, which now require the use of the Mobile JKN application. the aim of this research is to determine the level of knowledge of the rt 16 kelurahan klandasan ulu, about the use of the jkn mobile application. The research method used in this study is quantitative descriptive research with a cross-sectional approach. This research method is employed to provide an overview of the public’s level of knowledge regarding the use of the Mobile JKN application. Data collection in this study was conducted using questionnaires and analyzed using bivariate analysis. Based on the results of the research and discussion with 47 JKN participants regarding the level of knowledge in RT 16 on the use of the Mobile JKN application is at a good level. The results show that out of 47 respondents, 53% had good knowledge about using the Mobile JKN application, while 47% had poor knowledge.
