Abstract

Background: The Indonesian capital market, particularly the property and real estate sector, is highly sensitive to macroeconomic fluctuations, especially during periods of global uncertainty such as 2020–2024. Specific Background: External factors like interest rates, inflation, and index volatility influence investor behavior and corporate performance, yet their interaction with sustainability dimensions remains underexplored. Knowledge Gap: Prior studies rarely assess the moderating role of green technology innovation and exchange rates in the macroeconomic–stock return relationship. Aims: This study investigates the impact of Bank Indonesia’s interest rate, index volatility, and inflation on stock returns, while testing the moderating effects of the Rupiah exchange rate and green technology innovation. Results: Interest rates and index volatility significantly reduce stock returns, while inflation is insignificant. The exchange rate shows no moderating effect. However, green technology innovation significantly moderates the relationship between interest rates and stock returns, indicating its buffering potential. Novelty: The inclusion of green innovation as a moderating variable presents a novel perspective in sustainable financial research within emerging markets. Implications: These findings suggest that adopting green innovations enhances corporate resilience to macroeconomic shocks and supports investor confidence, highlighting its strategic role in policy-making and ESG-oriented investment frameworks.Highlight : Interest rates and index volatility significantly reduce stock returns in the property sector. Green technology innovation moderates the impact of interest rates on stock returns. Exchange rate and inflation show no significant moderating effect on stock returns. Keywords : Stock Returns, Interest Rates, Index Volatility, Inflation, Green Technology Innovation, Exchange Rate

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus affects over 415 million people globally and is projected to reach 642 million by 2040, with diabetic retinopathy (DR) becoming a major cause of preventable blindness. Specific background: In Indonesia, DR prevalence remains high, yet early detection is often delayed, particularly in community and private clinic settings. Knowledge gap: Most studies on DR risk factors have been conducted in tertiary hospitals or general populations, while evidence from community-based ophthalmology clinics is limited. Aim: This study analyzed factors associated with DR complications among type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients at Klinik Mata Vision Max. Results: Using a case–control design with 60 participants (30 cases, 30 controls), multivariate logistic regression revealed that uncontrolled blood glucose (OR = 7.5, p = 0.007), diabetes duration >5 years (OR = 6.4, p = 0.016), hypertension (OR = 4.5, p = 0.043), and male sex (OR = 3.97, p = 0.054) significantly increased the risk of DR, while diet showed no direct effect. Novelty: This is the first systematic case–control study in a community-based eye clinic in Indonesia addressing DR risk factors. Implications: Findings highlight the urgency of integrating DR screening into primary care, emphasizing glycemic control, hypertension management, and targeted patient education to reduce preventable blindness.Highlight : Uncontrolled blood glucose is the dominant factor. Age >45 years and DM duration >5 years increase risk. Hypertension is significantly associated with diabetic retinopathy. Abstract

General background: The Qur’an, as a central religious text, employs linguistic precision in conveying divine messages. Specific background: Among the vocabulary used, the terms Al-Khabar and Al-Nabāʾ are often considered synonymous but contain nuanced differences that impact interpretation. Knowledge gap: Existing studies overlook the semantic and contextual distinctions between these two terms in Qur’anic discourse. Aims: This study aims to analyze the linguistic and semantic differences between Al-Khabar and Al-Nabāʾ through a qualitative approach using semantic and comparative methods. Results: The research reveals that while both terms relate to the concept of “news” or “information,” Al-Nabāʾ specifically refers to information that is highly important, beneficial, and carries profound implications, whereas Al-Khabar lacks such mandatory characteristics. Novelty: This study uniquely highlights that Al-Nabāʾ must fulfill three specific criteria—importance, utility, and the ability to produce knowledge or certainty—making it more exclusive in its Qur’anic application. Implications: These findings contribute to deeper Qur’anic linguistic studies and assist interpreters in making more accurate semantic distinctions, thus enhancing the integrity of exegesis and linguistic analysis of the Qur’an.Highlight : The study focuses on the differences in meaning between Al-Khabar and Al-Nabāʾ in the Qur'an. Al-Nabāʾ has specific characteristics: it is important, useful, and generates knowledge. It uses a descriptive and comparative approach based on literature studies. Abstract

General Background: Employee performance is a key determinant of organizational success, particularly in public service institutions. Specific Background: At the Social Service Office of Gunungkidul Regency, performance optimization is essential to meet increasing administrative and social demands. Knowledge Gap: While previous studies have addressed individual factors such as workload, stress, or motivation, limited research integrates these variables simultaneously within local government contexts in Indonesia. Aims: This study aims to examine the influence of workload, work stress, and work motivation on employee performance—both individually (partially) and collectively (simultaneously). Results: Using a quantitative ex post facto design with total sampling of 45 civil servants and contract workers, data were collected via validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaires. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that workload, work stress, and motivation each have a positive and significant effect on performance. Notably, moderate work stress (eustress) enhances alertness and discipline. Collectively, the three variables account for 82.5% of the variance in employee performance. Novelty: The study highlights the constructive role of moderate stress in public service performance, a nuance often overlooked in stress-performance literature. Implications: These findings suggest that managing optimal levels of workload, stress, and motivation is critical to enhancing public sector employee performance. Highlights: Balanced stress (eustress) can enhance employee effectiveness. Motivation significantly drives public service performance. Combined variables explain 82.5% of performance outcomes.
