Abstract

Community literacy is an essential foundation for building civilization and competitive human resource quality in the digital era. The low reading interest among communities, especially in areas with limited access to library facilities, poses a serious challenge to national literacy development. Rimba Bulan Reading Space emerges as a community-based alternative solution to enhance community literacy culture. This article aims to analyze the implementation of community literacy through Rimba Bulan Reading Space using a descriptive approach. The methods employed include direct observation of literacy activities, interviews with managers and participants, and documentation studies of programs. Research findings indicate that Rimba Bulan Reading Space successfully increased children's and adolescents' reading interest through various programs such as shared reading, mobile reading corners, creative writing training, and book discussions. Supporting factors for success include active volunteer participation, local community support, and collaboration with various parties. Constraints faced include limited operational funding, insufficient new book collections, and program continuity. This research recommends strengthening managerial capacity, diversifying funding sources, and establishing strategic partnerships with government and private sectors for the sustainability of community literacy programs.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of working capital management on the financial performance of transportation and logistics companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from Q1 2020 to Q4 2024, with seasonality as a moderating variable. Working capital management is measured through Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC), Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO), and Days Payable Outstanding (DPO), while financial performance is measured using Return on Assets (ROA) with leverage and firm size as control variables. Using a quantitative approach with panel data regression analysis and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA), this study analyzes 100 quarterly observations from five transportation and logistics companies. The results show that CCC, DSO, and DIO have a significant negative effect on ROA, while DPO shows a positive but not significant effect. Seasonality significantly moderates the relationship between CCC, DSO, and DIO with ROA, indicating that seasonal variations strengthen the negative impact of working capital inefficiency on financial performance. These findings provide important implications for companies to optimize working capital management strategies by considering seasonal patterns in the transportation and logistics industry.

Abstract

Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) and Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA) have become critical components in modern maritime navigation, contributing significantly to situational awareness, collision avoidance, and voyage planning. Despite their importance, the effectiveness of these navigational technologies depends largely on the competence of watchkeepers, the integration of system functions, and operational conditions on board. This study aims to analyze how the integration of ECDIS and ARPA enhances navigational awareness aboard KMP Jatra III, a Ro-Ro passenger vessel operating in Indonesian waters. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, onboard observations, and documentation of navigational operations. The findings indicate that the integration of ECDIS and ARPA improves decision-making by providing real-time positional accuracy, automated radar target tracking, optimized route monitoring, and early detection of collision risks through Closest Point of Approach (CPA)/Time to CPA (TCPA). However, challenges such as screen saturation, overreliance on automation, environmental interference, and limited crew proficiency reduce the overall effectiveness of the integrated system. The study concludes that while ECDIS–ARPA integration significantly enhances navigational awareness, optimal outcomes can only be achieved through continuous training, strict adherence to STCW watchkeeping standards, and reinforcement of bridge resource management (BRM) principles.

Abstract

Fuel consumption remains one of the most significant operational components in the maritime transportation sector, particularly on routes characterized by high vessel frequency such as Merak Bakauheni. This study aims to examine the efficiency of fuel utilization among four ferry vessels operating on this route two categorized as express ferries and two classified as regular ferries. Using a mixed-methods approach that integrates quantitative fuel-use analysis with qualitative evaluation of operational constraints, the research investigates how engine speed, power output, voyage duration, and port-related delays affect overall fuel efficiency. The findings demonstrate substantial differences in fuel consumption between the two ferry categories, largely influenced by engine load patterns and operational behavior. Furthermore, port congestion, limitations in jetty availability, and slow loading unloading procedures contribute significantly to additional fuel usage, particularly through prolonged auxiliary engine operation. These findings emphasize the need for an improved operational framework that includes speed optimization, more effective port coordination, and real-time monitoring mechanisms to minimize fuel waste and enhance maritime performance.

Abstract

Condenser vacuum level is a crucial parameter affecting the thermal economy of steam turbines and the overall efficiency of the unit. During operation, it was discovered that the condenser air extraction pipeline of Unit 2 at the PLTU IPP Sumsel5 was not installed strictly according to the design drawings, resulting in low extraction efficiency, severe local gas stagnation, and a persistently low vacuum below the design value. To address this, the power plant, taking advantage of the current annual overhaul, conducted a comprehensive study on the treatment and structural optimization of the low condenser vacuum. The air extraction system was redesigned and reinstalled, optimizing 2200 extraction pipelines to achieve efficient airflow distribution and uniform extraction. After the modification, the condenser vacuums stably reached the design value (-93kPa), the turbine back pressure decreased by approximately 3.5kPa, and the unit's thermal efficiency significantly improved, resulting in significant energy savings and operational economic benefits.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major cause and complication in chronic kidney disease (CKD), with ACE inhibitors (ACEIs) and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) both being used to lower albuminuria/proteinuria and slow the progression of decreased kidney function. However, direct comparison evidence between the two still shows mixed results. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of ACEI compared to ARB on the reduction of albuminuria (primary outcome) and the decrease in eGFR/renal function (secondary outcome) in hypertensive patients with CKD through a systematic review without meta-analysis. A literature search was conducted in the PubMed database up to 15 December 2025, yielding 118 articles, which were then filtered into 5 articles for full-text assessment, with 4 studies eventually included. The studies evaluated consisted of one randomised controlled trial (RCT) and three observational studies (retrospective or prospective non-randomised). The results showed that in albuminuria/proteinuria outcomes, some studies showed a comparable effect between ACEI and ARB, while in certain subgroups, ARBs were more effective in lowering proteinuria. In kidney function outcomes, some studies reported a difference in time to serum creatinine doubling, while others found no significant difference. The risk assessment of bias suggests that most of the evidence comes from non-randomised studies with a high risk of bias, and randomised controlled trials have a moderate risk of bias. Existing evidence suggests that the effects of ACEIs and ARBs on albuminuria and renal function in hypertensive patients with CKD are varied, with the need for further research with a more robust design.
