Abstract

This qualitative descriptive-analytical study examines the role of Buana Clinic at Yohanis Kapiyau Air Force Base (Lanud YKU) in malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in Mimika Regency, a high-endemic area for malaria. The study focuses on service quality challenges (Reliability and Responsiveness) and the hybrid collaboration model. Data were collected through triangulation methods: observation, in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, and clinical documentation. The findings reveal that the Prevention Pillar, supported by the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) strategy, effectively implements vector control and net distribution interventions. However, the Diagnosis and Treatment Pillar faces significant challenges, with a high surge in malaria cases and a shortage of healthcare personnel, compromising Responsiveness and the critical 14-day follow-up treatment, jeopardizing clinical Reliability. The Hybrid Collaboration Model plays a critical role in managing the internal military population but needs further manpower support to sustain malaria elimination efforts. The study concludes that enhancing the internal curative capacity at Buana Clinic is essential to accelerate malaria elimination in Mimika.

Abstract

The transition from adolescence to adulthood is a developmental phase marked by emotional changes, identity exploration, and social pressure, which may lead to anxiety and difficulties in self-acceptance. In this context, music can serve as a reflective medium that helps adolescents understand their inner experiences. This study aims to analyze the role of the song “Beranjak Dewasa” by Nadin Amizah in supporting the process of self-acceptance among adolescents through intrapersonal communication. This research employs a qualitative approach, using participant observation, in-depth semi-structured interviews with adolescents aged 17–20 in Cirebon City, as well as song lyric analysis and supporting documentation. The theoretical framework is based on Jalaluddin Rakhmat’s intrapersonal communication theory and Christopher Germer’s concept of self-acceptance. The findings indicate that the song “Beranjak Dewasa” functions as an emotional stimulus that initiates intrapersonal communication through the stages of sensation, perception, memory, and thinking. This process encourages self-awareness, acceptance of personal imperfections, and the development of a more positive internal dialogue among adolescents. The song is not merely perceived as entertainment but also as a medium for self-reflection that assists adolescents in coping with anxiety and the demands of growing up. Therefore, reflective songs such as “Beranjak Dewasa” have significant potential as educational and psychological tools that support adolescents’ self-acceptance during the transition to adulthood.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the empowerment communication model implemented in the PADU (Perempuan Andalan dalam Dunia Usaha Women Champions in Business) business incubator program at Universitas Subang as a means to enhance entrepreneurial capacity among female students. Using a mixed-method approach, this research combined quantitative data collected through questionnaires (50 respondents) and qualitative data obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The findings from 50 respondents indicate significant improvements in financial literacy (80%), digital marketing skills (70%), self-confidence (90%), and the ability to create business prototypes (70%). However, challenges remain regarding business sustainability after the incubation process and participants’ independence. Based on interview results, the communication model employed in the program is participatory, transformative, and contextual. Participatory communication encourages active involvement from participants; transformative communication helps shift their mindset from consumers to entrepreneurs; and contextual communication ensures that the materials delivered are relevant to Subang’s local potential. This research emphasizes that communication innovation within university-based business incubators is not merely aimed at transferring technical skills but also at fostering critical awareness, entrepreneurial identity, and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly gender equality (SDG 5) and inclusive economic growth (SDG 8).

Abstract

Popular music is a strategic medium for cultural communication that conveys emotions and ideology, social values, and the construction of gender identity. Taylor Swift's song "Eldest Daughter" depicts the emotional experience of the eldest daughter, who is often burdened with moral and emotional responsibilities within the family. This phenomenon is known as Eldest Daughter Syndrome. The research focus is the meaning contained in the song lyrics and how the representation of the eldest daughter is formed in modern socio-cultural society. To investigate meaning at the denotative, connotative, and mythic levels, the research employs a qualitative approach using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method. Research data was obtained thru the analysis of song lyrics as the primary source; interviews with female listeners who are also the eldest child were conducted to support the literature analysis related to representation theory. The research findings indicate that the song "Eldest Daughter" portrays the eldest daughter as a figure imbued with the values of resilience, sacrifice, and emotional responsibility, which are naturalized by patriarchal cultural myths. This presentation highlights the internal conflict between societal expectations and women's personal needs. This research found that the song not only depicts a person's experience but also carries ideological meaning about the role of women in the family. This study also suggests further research on gender representation in popular music.

Abstract

Assessment plays a pivotal role in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) instruction, yet Indonesian teachers continue to struggle with designing valid, reliable, and pedagogically appropriate instruments—defaulting to traditional formats that inadequately capture learners' productive language skills. Despite a growing body of literature on alternative assessment, an integrated comparative analysis of how both assessment paradigms are simultaneously implemented in Indonesian school contexts remains underexplored. This study employs a qualitative library-research design. Data were collected through systematic documentation of peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and policy documents relevant to traditional and alternative assessment practice in EFL settings. Thematic content analysis was applied to synthesize findings across sources. The analysis reveals that Indonesian EFL classrooms predominantly rely on traditional assessment tools (tests, quizzes, gap-filling, MCQs) due to their administrative simplicity. Alternative assessments—particularly portfolio and performance-based tasks—are present but limited by teachers' low assessment literacy, time constraints, and the absence of institutional support. The coexistence of both paradigms reflects a transitional assessment culture shaped by curriculum reform pressures. This study uniquely synthesizes findings from both global and Indonesian-specific sources to construct a comparative evaluative framework that connects assessment type, teacher competency, and student learning outcomes in EFL contexts, offering actionable implications for teacher professional development and curriculum policy.

Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce in Indonesia has increased the complexity and cost of last-mile delivery. Parcel lockers offer a potential solution to reduce distribution inefficiencies, such as increased vehicle travel distance, congestion, and emissions associated with home delivery, while also improving service quality through flexible parcel collection. This study develops an optimization model for parcel locker placement in residential areas by utilizing minimarkets as potential facility locations, using an incapacitated p-median approach. The model aims to minimize the total system cost, consisting of distribution costs and user access costs, with service quality represented by access distance. The analysis is conducted using 210 demand points across seven subdistricts in Tebet District, South Jakarta, with 44 minimarkets as candidate locations. Two scenarios are compared: without and with administrative boundary constraints. The results indicate that the unrestricted scenario provides better service quality, reflected in shorter access distances, along with lower system costs. In contrast, the restricted scenario leads to longer access distances and higher system costs. Quantitatively, the implementation of parcel lockers reduces total distribution travel distance by up to 70% compared to home delivery. These findings demonstrate that optimizing parcel locker locations can improve logistics system efficiency and support sustainable urban transport planning.

Abstract

The rapid digital transformation of society has increased cybercrime incidents significantly, particularly electronic information theft, raising concerns over legal certainty and equal law enforcement in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze disparities in the enforcement of electronic information theft cases within the Indonesian criminal justice system. A normative juridical method with a qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using literature study, statutory analysis, and comparative case review. The findings show that enforcement disparities are influenced by ambiguous legal norms, uneven digital forensic infrastructure, differences in judges' digital literacy, and centralized case handling in major cities. Case comparisons between Banjarmasin, South Jakarta, and Yogyakarta reveal significant sentencing variations for similar cybercrime acts. These inconsistencies indicate the absence of standardized sentencing guidelines and unequal evidentiary capacities across jurisdictions. Consequently, such disparities undermine legal certainty and public trust in cyber law enforcement. The study concludes that structural reforms, including the harmonization of legal interpretation, the standardization of sentencing guidelines, and the equitable distribution of forensic technology, are urgently needed to ensure fair and consistent justice in electronic information crime cases. These reforms are essential to strengthen legal certainty, deterrence, and public confidence in Indonesia's digital justice system and to support equitable access to justice across regions nationwide.

Abstract

This research analyzed the implementation of the TERSUARA Program (Ternak Sumber Sari Sejahtera) as a circular economy-based social innovation initiated by PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Fuel Terminal Sei Siak in Tanjung Rhu Village, Pekanbaru. The program integrated riparian ecosystem conservation with a community-based integrated livestock system to generate simultaneous economic, social, and environmental value for vulnerable communities experiencing socio-ecological challenges. This research employed a qualitative descriptive case study design based on secondary data from academic literature and company internal documents, including social mapping reports, program implementation records, and community group financial statements. Data credibility was ensured through triangulation between theoretical frameworks and internal company evaluation findings. The TERSUARA Program successfully integrated vetiver grass-based ecological mitigation with an integrated circular livestock farming system consisting of goat farming, KUB native chicken farming, Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae cultivation, and the production of compost and liquid organic fertilizer. The program outcomes indicated that average participant income increased by 35%, group collective income increased by 25% between semesters, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were reduced by 1.648 tCO?-eq per year, and 100% of office organic waste (3,546 kg/year) was diverted from landfills and utilized as BSF larvae substrate. The findings were limited to the first year of implementation; therefore, future longitudinal studies over a 3–5-year period are recommended to evaluate long-term sustainability and impacts. This study provides empirical evidence of a circular corporate social responsibility (CSR) model that integrates ecological restoration with the economic empowerment of marginalized communities, demonstrating its potential for replication in other riparian areas across Indonesia as an integrated approach to achieving environmental sustainability and inclusive community development.

Abstract

Active, learner-centered instruction has become a global priority in contemporary education; yet Islamic Religious Education (PAI particularly abstract, faith-based material such as the duties of angels is still frequently delivered through teacher-centered lectures that limit student participation and conceptual understanding. Although prior studies have examined the question-and-answer method in PAI, most focus on measurable learning outcomes in general and rarely describe, in depth, how the method operates when applied to faith-related material at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level; this constitutes the research gap addressed by the present study. This study aims to describe the application of the question-and-answer method in learning the material on the duties of angels and to analyze its contribution to students’ classroom engagement and understanding. Employing a qualitative descriptive case-study design, the research was conducted with 28 seventh-grade students at MTs Miftahul Ulum Singosari who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility strengthened through source triangulation and member checking. The findings indicate that the question-and-answer method increased students’ activeness, enthusiasm, and understanding, encouraged them to express opinions and pose questions, and fostered more effective two-way teacher–student interaction, although low learner confidence and uneven academic ability remained challenges. The study offers a context-specific account of interactive, constructivist PAI instruction and provides practical guidance for madrasah teachers seeking to strengthen student-centered learning of faith-based material.
