Abstract

The development of natural composites offers solutions to various material challenges, with bamboo being widely utilized as a reinforcement due to its economic value. This research investigates the influence of material mixture parameters by incorporating Japanese bamboo fibers as reinforcement, along with aluminum powder, silicon dioxide powder, fluorocarbon powder, and epoxy hardener. Bamboo fibers were extracted using a chemical method involving 5% NaOH at 70°C for varying durations. Composites were fabricated with different fiber volume fractions (26%, 32%, 38%). Impact tests on the composite materials revealed a maximum impact strength of 1.13 J/mm² with an absorbed energy of 152 Joules. The highest dd strength, 118.30 N/mm², was observed in composites with 26% fiber volume fraction. Hardness tests yielded a maximum value of 681.4 HLB for the 26% fiber variation while bending tests showed a peak result of 9.37 N/mm for the 32% fiber variation. Conversely, the water absorption test indicated the lowest absorption value of 0.56% in the 38% fiber variation.

Abstract

Electrochemical sensors are a reliable method for detecting the presence of heavy metal ions such as lead (Pb²⁺) in aquatic environments. In this study, a sensor was developed based on a carbon paste electrode modified with ZnO nanomaterials and polyaniline, and integrated with a data acquisition system using a microcontroller. Voltammetric characterization results showed that the sensor could detect Pb²⁺ with high sensitivity at low concentrations. This system is expected to be applied for real-time and portable water quality monitoring.

Abstract

Distribution substation maintenance is an important measure to ensure the continuity of a reliable and safe electricity supply for consumers. This study focuses on the maintenance of cantilever-type distribution substations carried out by PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Anyer in Serang, Banten. This maintenance aims to prevent sudden equipment failures, ensure safety, and enhance the efficiency and durability of the electrical distribution system. The research method employed is qualitative descriptive, involving observation, interviews, and literature review conducted over one month, from July 1 to 31, 2024. The results of the study indicate that the cantilever-type distribution substation at PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Anyer is in good condition, with key components such as transformers, PHB-TR panels, and protective equipment well-maintained and functioning optimally. However, several areas requiring attention were identified, such as the installation of hazard signs and substation numbers to enhance safety and substation identification. Overall, the routine maintenance carried out has proven effective in maintaining the stability and reliability of the electricity distribution system.

Abstract

Lake Toba as the largest volcanic lake in Southeast Asia faces a serious threat in the form of water pollution due to the activities of Floating Net Cages (KJA). This study aims to evaluate the status of water quality in the waters of Lake Toba, especially in Tongging Village, Karo Regency. The evaluation was carried out using the STORET method approach. Water samples were taken at three different time conditions (before, during, and after feeding) at five strategic points representing KJA, around KJA, and river inlets. The results showed that the concentrations of phosphate and nitrate had exceeded the quality standards of PP No. 22 of 2021, reaching 0.072 mg/L and 9.950 mg/L, respectively. The highest STORET method score was -35, indicating severely polluted water conditions. These findings emphasize the need for sustainable fisheries management in Lake Toba.

Abstract

Daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum) merupakan salah satu dari banyaknya jenis tanaman obat. Daun kemangi terbukti mengandung senyawa aktif saponin, terpenoid, tannin dan flavonoid.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa antioksidan dan pengaruh rasio NADES pada daun kemangi. Proses ekstraksi daun kemangi menggunakan NADES dari Asam Sitrat dan Sukrosa dengan perbandingan rasio mol 1:1, 1:2 dan 2:1. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan merupakan metode Ultrasound Assisted Extraction (UAE). Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-difenyl-1-pikrylhidrazyl). Nilai aktivitas antioksidan dari daun kemangi dinyatakan dalam nilai IC50. Pada rasio 1:1 adalah 37,58 µg/mL, pada rasio 1:2 adalah 96,45 µg/mL dan pada rasio 2:1 adalah 107,18 µg/mL. Aktivitas antioksidan terbaik dengan nilai IC50 37,58 µg/mL ditunjukan oleh ekstrak daun kemangi yang diekstrak dengan menggunakan NADES asam sitrat : sukrosa rasio mol 1:1.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a manufacturing company in the automotive sector that produces vehicles and their components. Its production process generates hazardous and toxic (B3) waste classified as fast moving due to its high volume and frequency. This study aims to determine the standard time for the management process of iron gram B3 waste at PT XYZ. Observations were conducted over 15 cycles, with time recorded at each stage using the stopwatch time study method and adjustments based on the Westinghouse technique. The study was carried out across eight stages of the B3 waste management process at PT XYZ, involving calculations of cycle time, normal time, and standard time. The analysis revealed that the total standard time for the entire process is 42 minutes and 18 seconds. Establishing this standard time supports improved efficiency, prevents waste accumulation, and creates a more structured waste management system that can be periodically evaluated.

Abstract

PT. X is a leading ceramic tile manufacturer in Indonesia, with three main production facilities located in Surabaya, Gresik, and Bekasi, and warehouses located in Bali, Bandung, Jakarta, and Medan. This research aims to analyze and identify the impact of warehouse stock accuracy on the company’s operational needs. Stock accuracy also aims to identify the main factors that significantly contribute to inventory discrepancies in PT. X's warehouses and to formulate improvement strategies as recommendations that can be implemented to increase stock accuracy and achieve the goals set by the company in supporting overall warehouse operational effectiveness. This study uses the Root Cause Analysis method to identify and analyze the factors that are parameters of low stock accuracy in the warehouse, with the support of 5W+1H, Fishbone Diagram, and Pareto Diagram analyses to determine the root causes in detail. The findings of this study can be used as a basis for decision-making related to warehouse stock policies, stock opname scheduling, and improving stock accuracy.

Abstract

Gardu distribusi merupakan elemen penting dalam sistem listrik yang berfungsi untuk mendistribusikan energi listrik dari sistem transmisi ke konsumen. Namun, pada kondisi beban puncak, gardu distribusi sering mengalami kelebihan beban, yang dapat mengurangi efisiensi dan memperpendek umur peralatan, terutama transformator distribusi. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis beban puncak yang terjadi di stasiun distribusi dan mengevaluasi upaya untuk mengurangi kelebihan beban berdasarkan pedoman SPLN (Standar Perusahaan Listrik Negara). Metodologi yang digunakan meliputi pengukuran langsung beban arus dan tegangan di beberapa stasiun distribusi, analisis data beban harian dan mingguan, serta perbandingan dengan batas toleransi standar SPLN, yang merekomendasikan agar beban trafo tidak melebihi 80% dari kapasitas nominal secara terus-menerus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beberapa stasiun distribusi mengalami beban di atas batas standar, terutama selama periode beban puncak. Oleh karena itu, strategi untuk penyeimbangan beban antar fasa, pemindahan beban ke gardu distribusi lain, dan perencanaan penambahan trafo baru diperlukan. Dengan menerapkan standar SPLN secara konsisten, kelebihan beban dapat diminimalkan, sehingga meningkatkan keandalan dan efisiensi distribusi listrik.

Abstract

This study explores the enhancement of soybean grinding machine reliability in tofu production by integrating Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Conducted at CV. Restu Mulia Jaya between November 2024 and April 2025, the research utilized quantitative analysis of machine operational data. The findings revealed consistently low OEE values (39.04%–46.03%), attributed primarily to frequent downtime and variable performance rates. Equipment failures and speed losses were identified as the main sources of inefficiency. FMEA highlighted critical failure modes, notably clogged or corroded spirals and damaged filters. Recommended improvements include the adoption of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), operator training, real-time monitoring, and the use of durable materials for key components. This integrated OEE-FMEA approach effectively prioritizes corrective actions and supports sustainable reliability improvement for soybean grinding machines in small-scale tofu production. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pemborosan (waste) yang terjadi pada proses pencucian kendaraan menggunakan pendekatan lean service. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan time study sebanyak lima kali percobaan, yang kemudian dipetakan menggunakan Value Stream Mapping (VSM) untuk mengetahui aktivitas bernilai tambah (VA), tidak bernilai tambah tetapi perlu (NNVA), serta tidak bernilai tambah (NVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari total cycle time sebesar 3207 detik, terdapat waste sebesar 333 detik (10,38%). Waste yang dominan muncul di antaranya adalah penggunaan slang dan water jet yang dipakai bergantian untuk motor, pengulangan lap eksterior–interior, multitasking kendaraan, hingga idle time akibat pegawai mengobrol. Setelah dilakukan analisis akar masalah menggunakan fishbone diagram dan five whys analysis, dirancang perbaikan berupa penerapan single-piece flow, penambahan SOP mikro, serta penyediaan alat kerja sesuai ergonomi. Implementasi simulasi perbaikan menunjukkan penurunan cycle time menjadi 2416 detik atau setara penghematan 791 detik (24,66%). Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan lean service dapat meningkatkan efisiensi waktu proses di layanan jasa pencucian kendaraan
