Abstract

The challenge of vocational education is to produce competent and competitive prospective workers. Competency certification is a strategic step to improve the quality of Vocational High School graduates. For Vocational High School LSP P1 implementing the work competency certification, its function is not optimal and its independence is questionable. Vocational High School LSP P1  is only 4% compared to the number of Vocational High Schools and the graduates. Evaluation for Vocational High School LSP P1 was conducted to find out how the implementation of competency tests and work competency certification. This research aims to evaluate the implementation of competency test and work competency certification at LSP P1, in terms of the component variables of Context, Input, Process, and Product. This research is a descriptive evaluative research using the CIPP evaluation model approach. The research population was Vocational High School LSP P1 assessors from 9 Vocational High Schools in Pekalongan Regency and its surroundings. The sample was the research population who served as competency test assessors at LSP P1. Data collection methods in this research were questionnaire, interview, and document study. The content validity testing was by expert judgment, while the construct validity testing was by correlation analysis. The reliability test used Alpha Cronbach. The data analysis technique was quantitative descriptive analysis. Furthermore, it was analyzed by changing the scores for the context, input, process, and product components into a T-Score and then categorized them by the Glickman Quadrant. The research results were as follows; (1) in the context component, the percentage was F + = 66% and F - = 34% meaning that the implementation of competency test in terms of context variables is categorized as effective, (2) for the input component, the percentage was F + = 61% and F - = 39%, indicating that the implementation of competency test in terms of input variable is categorized as effective, (3) for the process component, the percentage was F + = 66% and F - = 34%, meaning that the implementation of competency test in terms of process variable is categorized as effective, (4) for the product component, the percentage was F + = 59% and F - = 41%, indicating that the implementation of competency test in terms of the product variable is categorized as effective, (5) T-score analysis of the four CIPP components, namely context, input, process, and product were (+ + + +) in the criteria of the Glickman Quadrant that were included in quadrant I, meaning that evaluation of the implementation of competency tests and work competency certification at LSP P1 in terms of all CIPP components is in the very effective or excellent category.

Abstract

Early learning about the introduction of batik to students is very appropriate that batik is not forgotten. Learning the making of basic batik motifs in vocational school (SMK) students is a form of batik conservative activity for children. Learning in vocational students about making digital-based batik basic motifs is very appropriate because it is to equip additional hard skills when they graduate as one of the opportunities to work and become entrepreneurs skills. Learning models are needed in a lesson so that goals can be achieved. The appropriate learning model and in accordance with the characteristics of vocational or vocational education, namely PjBL. This model can provide learners with a learning experience in producing a work. In addition, as a learning support, a learning media is needed, the media used is the CorelDraw graphic design application software, which is a computer application software that can be used as a learning medium in making digital-based batik motifs. SMK students can create various types of basic batik motifs using this application software. The tools or menus contained in the CorelDraw graphic design application software are able to assist students in making basic designs of batik motifs. The results showed the effectiveness of the use of graphic design application software CorelDraw in the basic learning of graphic design class ten RPL expertise competency in making digital-based batik basic motifs using the PjBL model of 81.09%.

Abstract

The teacher is an important component in the teaching and learning process. A teacher participates in efforts to form potential human resources in the field of development. Teachers who have received educator certificates mean that they are considered professionals in creating quality education systems and practices. The results of the teacher competency test that occurred by vocational school teachers got an average of 50.2 lower than high school teachers, this means that the skill competency test for each skill competency is less specific in certain subjects. The purpose of this study was to develop a learning module for processing and serving food in Teacher Professional Education (PPG). This research applies the development method or R and D. The design chosen is ADDIE, which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The unit of analysis in this research is the learning module for processing and serving food in Teacher Professional Education (PPG). The instruments used in this study were (1) an assessment sheet of the learning module on food processing and presentation of Teacher Professional Education (PPG); (2) a practical questionnaire for the learning module for processing and serving food in Teacher Professional Education (PPG); and (3) a questionnaire to measure the effectiveness of the learning module for the processing and presentation of food in Teacher Professional Education (PPG). The data analysis used in this study were (1) categorical to determine the feasibility level of the Food Processing and Serving Learning module in Teacher Professional Education (PPG); (2) the Guttman category to determine the practical level of the learning module in the processing and presentation of food in Teacher Professional Education (PPG) using the Kr and Ks coefficients; and (3) N-Gain and N-Gain difference test using the t-test, to determine the effectiveness of learning processing and serving of food in Teacher Professional Education (PPG). Based on the feasibility test, practicality test, and the effectiveness test of the learning module for the processing and presentation of food in the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) that was developed, according to the lecturers' responses as media experts, the responses of the culinary study program teachers obtained the response criteria for learning food processing and serving in professional education The teacher (PPG) is very feasible, the responses from teachers and students are as user responses, the practicality of the module obtains very practical assessment criteria, from the effectiveness test in the experimental class, the module obtains effective criteria.

Abstract

At present and in the future, the existence of a universty, beside fill in to the predetermined conditions is also assessed by how much graduates enter the world of work. Therefore, universities must accommodate themselves. The important unit of a university is a department, including the Department of Civil Engineering, in Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). Industry-oriented learning enhancement, one of which is the assessment of learning outcomes for subjects must also be developed. This study develop an instrument for assessing learning outcomes in the K3/OSH subject in the Civil Engineering Department of UNNES. The existing learning outcome instruments need to be more developed so that they are not too theoretically  but more industry-oriented, in the realms of knowledge, attitudes, and psychomotor. Continuous improvement needs to be done because the material learning that must be adapted  to the industry that always evolving. Apart from the above, UNNES also has a vision of conservation with environmental preservation as one of its focus. Conservation values  must  also  be  included in the instrument. The next issue  is corona pandemic. Students  must be assessed  in knoweldge of  work in pandemic eventhough he or she know from out of class. Through the development of these instruments, it was hoped that the Civil Engineering Department of UNNES can play a more  real role in both the world of education and the world of work (construction).

Abstract

The building construction basics include the installation of ceramic tiles for walls and floors as the primary topic. However, using conventional methods as instructional media has caused a lack of understanding for some students, especially for beginner students, as they will face difficulty imagining the material presented. Moreover, the students would hardly see the detailed installation demonstrations and tend to get bored with explanations through whiteboards. Creating video tutorials is one alternative to make it easier for students to understand and know the technique of installing wall and floor tiles. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, and a Four-D model was utilized in the video tutorial making. The feasibility test phase involved student respondents and expert instructors, including three instructors from P4TK VEDC of Malang and 98 tenth-grade students of SMK 2 State Vocational High School in Pati. The results of the analysis of the students’ material needs found 64.3% or more than half of the students did not understand the topic of ceramic installation. Further, the test results from content experts and media experts obtained percentages of 93.5% (very feasible) and 83% (feasible), respectively. The test of understanding the material by students obtained a percentage of 77% (good). The study concluded that the video tutorials for installing wall and floor tiles are suitable for use in learning activities as the learning outcomes have proven that students have good understanding skills in ceramic installation. The innovation of instructional media becomes the novelty of this research. The study has applied video tutorials demonstrated by international experts by adopting the World Skills International ceramic installation competency standard, namely the paste system.
