Abstract

This research is intended to find out whether Venn diagram Strategy significantly Affects the students’ achievement in reading comprehension or not. In this thesis, the writer conducted experimental quantitative research. The population of this research was the twelve grade of SMK N 5 Medan. The samples of this research were two classes, which were selected by the technique of sample Cluster in random sampling. They were 48 students. The first class was 24 students of the experimental class who had been taught by Venn Diagram Strategy and the second one was 24 students of the control group who had been taught by conventional Strategy. The instrument for collecting the data was multiple choice testing. To obtain the reliability of the test, Kuder Richardson Formula (KR-21) was used. The calculation showed that the reliability of the test was 0.92. The data were analyzed by using the t-test formula in order to see whether Venn Diagram Strategy significantly effect students’ reading comprehension or not. The finding indicates that the value of the t-test exceeds the value of the t-table (3.07> 1.67866), at the level of significant p= 0.05 and the degree freedom df= 46. The finding implies that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. In other words, there is a significant effect of applying the Venn Diagram Strategy on the students’ Achievement in reading comprehension.

Abstract

The economic crisis and the covid pandemic have not only had a major impact on the State of Indonesia, but also have had an impact on community development, behavior, and cultural shifts in society. Especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, the nation's economic condition is getting worse. Not only experiencing an economic crisis but also having an impact on a moral crisis. An increase in population density, an increasing number of unemployed, supported by a high poverty rate causes someone to do evil. Due to economic pressure, many people take shortcuts by justifying any means to earn money. This problem has led to a higher crime rate, especially in densely populated urban areas. The phenomenon of unemployment, however, needs to be watched out for. The economic crush can create a number of new social problems, including an increase in crime rates. One of the phenomena of crime that occurs in society today is the widespread practice or acts of thuggery among the community. The practice of thuggery can indeed grow in various lines of human life. Sociologically, the emergence of thuggery can be traced to the gaps that occur in the community structure. The gap can be in the form of material as well as discrepancies in discourse within a group in the social structure of society. Community (society) can be interpreted as an arena for the struggle for interests between groups (classes), who want their interests to become a reference for the community.

For the northwest ethnic minorities, agricultural production is the main economic activity. In addition, they also raise livestock, do some crafts, and carry out various forms of appropriation of available natural resources in the forests around the area of residence. Northwest ethnic minority communities and households have their unique products and business ideas, so vocational training for ethnic minority workers needs to be associated with these ideas to increase efficiency. For instance, using a vocational training model need to be based on the idea of promoting traditional professions, tourism development as well as agricultural development.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the company's zakat program are two instruments for distributing social responsibility funds, both of which have a religious and state legal basis. Zakat and CSR generally have the same vision and mission, namely concern for overall social conditions. This research was conducted by conducting a literature search relevant to several previous research results, especially those related to the CSR model and zakat philanthropy. The search was carried out through electronic databases such as (Pubmed, Science Direct and Google Scholar), and the results of this study explained that, basically the CSR concept developed in Islamic teachings itself is identical to the conventional philanthropy concept, this can be seen from the teachings of tithe, tithe, and charity without asking for anything in return (qardh). There is no difference between Islamic teachings and the concept of CSR because it has a clearand humane codification of ethics and mechanisms. CSR can be defined as a charitable or philanthropic activity carried out voluntarily by a company as a form of service to the surrounding environment. In simple terms, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a manifestation of an economic development policy approach oriented towards a sustainable development system. Of course, in this case, zakat and CSR are two interrelated things because CSR will reveal the amount of zakat funds that have been managed and utilized by a company for its activities.
