Abstract

Haka dance is a ritual of the indigenous Maori tribe of New Zealand. This dance is performed not only in the form of a dance alone but is also often referred to as a Maori ceremonial challenge that is carried out before war or to honor someone. The All Black Team is the name of the New Zealand National Rugby team. The New Zealand Rugby Team has long danced the Haka in front of its opponents before the match started. Haka dance makes the audience get carried away by the energy and charm of Haka when they see the All Black team competing. In Rugby Haka matches are played in groups and usually represent a display of pride, strength and unity of a Maori tribe. This Haka dance attraction is often awaited by Rugby fans every time New Zealand plays in a Rugby tournament event. When dancing the Haka they show their chivalry traditions with expressions that frighten their opponents with loud and passionate voices that can be heard by all the spectators in the stadium. The dance is performed by being led by one person who is in command with various movements such as sticking out the tongue, hitting the palms of the hands and feet or stomping the feet on the ground. Haka has earned a place of its own and become an attraction in the era of contemporary sport and professional Rugby. This is an interesting phenomenon to be discussed to see Haka's philosophy as a representation of the All Black team in Rugby matches through a literature review.

Abstract

Movie is the most popular entertainment medium, which is liked and enjoyed by the majority of people around the world. Since a lot of movies are produced in one language but watched by people who speak in different languages, subtitle becomes the important way of conveying the utterances in the movie. However, literal translation is not possible in subtitling because of the differences in the sociocultural aspects and language structure. Therefore, the oblique translation technique is often used in the subtitling, consisting of transposition, modulation, equivalence, and adaptation. This study aims to examine adaptation modes applied in Indonesian subtitle of Enola Holmes (2020) movie using the qualitative descriptive comparative method. Data collection was performed by collecting data from the movie broadcasted by Netflix. Data analysis is carried out by comparing the Indonesian subtitle with the utterance using the data analysis technique by Krippendorff and Nazir. As the result, seven adaptation modes by Baker and Saldahan were applied in the translated subtitle. The frequency of applied adaptation mode consists of 14 times of Transcription of Original, 4 times of Omission, 2 times of Expansion, 14 times of Exoticism, 5 times of Updating, 11 times of Situational or Cultural Adequacy, and 1 time of Creation. The finding of the study indicates that adaptation modes can be applied when translating utterance to text.

Abstract

A computerized system is needed to support all expected success, especially in managing data into information which is an important source in decision making because it can reduce uncertainty and facilitate decision making. STMIK Profesional Makassar requires marketing management to attract prospective students not only to sell educational services as they are but how to approach according to consumer desires and satisfaction and practice marketing continuously. The promotional media used are based on models that have been used previously, namely promotion through print media (newspapers, tabloids and brochures) and electronic/mobile media (radio, sms, and social media/internet). Improper implementation of promotions results in ineffective and inefficient time and costs and does not focus on certain media which are the main priority. To overcome the problem of selecting promotional media, an application (information system) is designed that can implement the proper selection of media used by using a method in decision making, namely the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method. Applications designed for companies are able to be more targeted in holding promotions so that the time and costs incurred can be more effective and efficient in their use.

Abstract

The purpose of this study determined the mediating role of work motivation on the relationship between perceived career development and the performance of the State Civil Apparatus whose agency equalized structural/echelon positions into functional positions. This study is a quantitative study using a self-report questionnaire via an online form. Respondents are Employee Government/ASN aged 25-56 years taking into account education, years of service, and the current position selected by convenience sampling. The analysis was carried out using Mediation Model 4 from Process v4.0 by Andrew Hayes on IBM SPSS version 26. After measuring, each variable measuring instrument achieved good and valid reliability. The direct effect of perceived career development on ASN performance was greater (effect value = 0.0818; p < 0.005; LLCI = 0.0482 and ULCI = 0.1154) than the direct effect mediated by work motivation (effect value = 0.0686; p < 0.005; LLCI=0.0449 and ULCI=0.0932). This shows that work motivation partially mediates the relationship between perceived career development and ASN performance significantly. Furthermore, from the results of this study, government agencies that carry out structural/echelon position equalization can develop programs that can improve the career development perceived by ASN and work motivation to improve ASN performance.
