Abstract

A special feature of class interaction discourse relates to typical elements of context. The elements of the context include the participants, the background, the topic, the nature of the message, and the message tone. Teachers are more dominant to organize the course of teaching and learning activities, such as topic selection, topic development, and control of conversation topics or learning topics. Teachers determine the direction of a conversation or turn-taking, ie when an opportunity is given to students to speak and when to take the rotation-said. The characteristics of learning conversations are (1) the participants are teachers and students, (2) the conversation is done during the teaching and learning activities, (3) the conversation has a purpose, and the topic is related to the learning objectives. . In addition teachers also have certain rights that usually appear in the teacher-centered classroom. These rights include (a) participating in all interactions, (b) initiating interactions, (c) determining the time to participate, (d) determining who is given the opportunity to interact, (e) determining who gets a turn more than once, and (f) closing the interaction. The mechanism of teacher-student turn-taking in classroom learning activities can be done by (1) getting opportunities (2) stealing opportunities, (3) seizing opportunities, (4) replacing, and (5) continuing.

Abstract

Language is seen as a science, cannot be separated in interaction between humans and is translated into the scope of education, both formal, non-formal and informal. In social interaction, language functions to convey messages in interaction or conversation. Language is seen from an axiological point of view, then language is a form of human behavior in the dimensions of social life of society which naturally grows and develops in various aspects of human life, especially the association of students in the school environment. In connection with this research, the problem discussed is "colloquial expressions of students at SMA Negeri 4 Ambon in the ethnographic perspective of communication". This research is a descriptive qualitative research, namely synchronous language research. This is in line with Mahsun's opinion (2017: 86) which states that synchronous language research is language research that is carried out by observing the phenomenon of a language at a certain time, and is descriptive. The focus is a comprehensive description or describe and explain the data obtained. The research data is in the form of utterances in the conversations of SMA Negeri 4 Ambon students. Speech that contains colloquial expressions. The results of this study found that the students' colloquial expressions were in the form of questions, statements and orders. While the colloquial expression functions found are assertive functions, directive functions, expressive functions and commissive functions.

Abstract

This research focuses on literacy activities carried out at the school and the character building of school students with their literacy programs. Related to this research, the authors used mixed methods research, in which this study used two approaches, namely qualitative and quantitative. In this study, the naturalistic method will be used, where this method will be carried out in natural conditions (natural settings) by making thorough observations on a certain background without changing it one bit. During this research process, there will be no conditions that are altered or engineered in the slightest; everything is natural and occurs naturally in the field. . It was the director of education and the founder of the school who were the originators of the literacy programs that have been running so far in schools. The truth is that children at school are not far from what is called literacy; they will always meet literacy. Literacy in their environment greatly influences the child's mindset and personality; therefore, the school-encouraged literacy program is one of the leading programs both in increasing literacy levels, which basically cover 4 language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), as well as in forming superior character, personality, attitude, and behavior as well.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas penggunaan aplikasi Pear Deck dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, khususnya pada teks deskripsi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis konten atau studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Pear Deck dapat menjadi media pembelajaran interaktif yang mendukung interaksi antara guru dan siswa. Fitur-fitur yang disediakan oleh Pear Deck memungkinkan pembelajaran yang menarik dan efektif. Oleh karena itu, aplikasi Pear Deck dapat dimanfaatkan secara efektif dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

Interaction is a communication process that can occur anywhere and anytime. Communication can take place whether in formal or non-formal situations. A classroom is a place where formal interaction occurs, involving communication between students and teachers, and vice versa, between teachers and students or speakers and interlocutors. In communicating, the speaker has a purpose to convey, and this purpose will be understood by the interlocutor. In this context, in classroom interaction, the teacher plays a strategic role. This strategic role is related to the teacher's formal tasks as an educator and instructor. Praise given by the teacher carries certain implications for students, such as motivating them to be more diligent, enthusiastic, and diligent in their studies to achieve good results. Similarly, students can also give praise to both teachers and fellow students. This research examines the Pragmatic Implications of praise speech in interactions among junior high school students. The aim is to describe praise speeches that have pragmatic implications. It adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on language synchronically. The findings reveal several Pragmatic Implications of praise, including praising as a mode of commanding, reinforcing, criticizing, and mocking.

Abstract

In contemporary communication dynamics, the usage of taboo words has become a focal point, reflecting the intricacies of human interaction. This study employs a forensic linguistic approach to delve into this phenomenon, specifically aiming to elucidate the underlying linguistic dynamics shaping language use in daily interactions. The analysis process incorporates specific forensic linguistic techniques, including discourse analysis and linguistic methodologies, to investigate the role of taboo words as significant evidence in both legal and social contexts. Through a fusion of qualitative research methods, data comprising taboo words, phrases, and sentences are gathered from community discourse via participant observation methods. Researchers meticulously document discourse through various means such as recordings, notes, and interviews, subsequently transcribing and categorizing the collected data. The findings of the analysis reveal three societal taboos: fear, delicacy, and propriety. Furthermore, this research concludes with a statement highlighting the broader implications of the findings, emphasizing the importance of understanding language's role in shaping social reality not only in everyday interactions but also in forensic contexts. This contributes to a deeper understanding of linguistic dynamics and their relevance in both legal and social spheres

Abstract

Semua bahasa mempunyai bahasa tutur sapa sama halnya dengan bahasa Fordata, yakni sistem yang mempertautkan seperangkat kata-kata atau ungkapan yang dipakai untuk menyapa para pelaku dalam satu peristiwa sehingga sapaan juga merupakan kesantunan berbahasa. Penutur bahasa Fordata merupakan masyarakat kepulaun Fordata yang bermigrasi ke Pulau Seira di Desa Themin. Selain itu masyarakat di desa Themin juga tetap menjaga dan melestarikan bahasa Fordata dengan sangat baik. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk sapaan bahasa Fordata di desa Themin Kecamatan Wermaktian Kabupaten Kepulauan Tanimbar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif, dengan data penelitian yaitu data verbal berupa tuturan dalam bahasa Fordata di desa Themin Kecmatan Wermaktian Kabupaten Kepulauan Tanimbar yang terdapat sapaan dalam komunikasi mereka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam Bahasa Fordata memiliki empat bentuk sapaan. Empat Bentuk sapaan yaitu, bentuk sapaan berdasarkan jenis kelamin yang terbagi menjadi 2 yakni sapaan terhadap laki-laki dan sapaan terhadap perempuan. Berikunya bentuk sapaan berdasarkan usia yang terbagi menjadi 4 yakni sapaan untuk usia 50 tahun ke atas, sapaan untuk usia menengah, sapaan untuk usia dewasa, dan sapaan untuk usia remaja dan anak-anak. Bentuk sapaan selanjutnya adalah bentuk sapaan berdasarkan status sosial, dan bentuk sapaan berdasarkan pronomina.

Abstract

Menulis adalah salah satu keterampilan yang sangat penting untuk diajarkan di sekolah, di samping keterampilan membaca, berbicara dan mendengar atau menyimak. Menulis dikatakan sangatlah penting karena keterampilan menulis adalah bentuk keterampilan yang sangat jarang diterapkan seseorang dalam kehidupannya sehari-hari. Guru telah berusaha memberikan treatment atau rangsangan untuk membangkitkan daya berpikir siswa namun rasa malas dan bosan yang menjadi penyebab proses pembelajaran tidak dapat berjalan dengan baik. Oleh sebabitu cara yang cara yang efektif untuk mempermudah siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi yaitu penggunaan media video. Dengan tujuan media video ini mampu meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMP Kristen 1 Seram Barat Kabupaten Seram Bagian Barat. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang dipakai adalah true experimental design dalam bentuk pretest-posttests control group design. Dalam desain pretest-postest control group design terdapat dua kelompok yang dipilih secara acak”. Jadi setiap kelompok yang akan menjadi kelompok eksperimen maupun kelompok kontrol intinya akan dipilih secara acak. Berdasarkan hasil uji paired samples t test maka dapat diketahui bahwa hipotesis dalam penelitian ini yaitu Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa, ada pengaruh penggunaan media video terhadap kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to describe polysemy in the Asilulu language in Ureng Village, Leihitu District, Central Maluku Regency. The type and method used is a descriptive qualitative research approach. The research data is in the form of polysemy in the Asilulu language. The data sources consist of 6 people, including Village Chiefs, Youth Heads, Education Leaders, Religious Leaders, Traditional Leaders, and Traders. Data collection techniques consist of observation, recording, interviews and documentation. The instruments used were observation sheets, interview guides, recording tools and documentation. Data analysis used a flow analysis model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. To check the validity of the data, triangulation techniques were used. The research results show that there are people's utterances that contain polysemous words in the form of basic words and derivative words based on threeword classes, namely verbs, nouns and adjectives.

Abstract

Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) adalah model pembelajaran yang kooperatif terpadu yang dapat membantu peserta didik dalam mengembangkan pemikiran, menganalisis serta mengevaluasi terhadap materi yang disampaikan. Metode penelitian kuantitatif eksperimen, proses penelitian didapatkan melalui teknik penghimpun data yang meliputi observasi, wawancara, proses pembelajaran, kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Observasi dimanfaatkan peneliti guna mengetahui proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru mata pelajaran dan peserta didik kelas VIII. Wawancara guru untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman peserta didik. Proses pembelajaran diartikan sebagai tahap lanjutan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti untuk menerapkan model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengetahui minat peserta didik dalam mempelajari materi membaca teks berita. Dokumentasi proses pengambilan foto untuk dijadikan sebagai data penelitian.
