Abstract

High risk groups experience anemia, namely adolescents, especially young women, this is due to the need for iron absorption peaking at the age of 14-15 years while young men, experiencing peak absorption of iron one or two years later. The main risk factors for iron deficiency anemia are low iron intake, poor absorption of iron, and periods of life when the need for iron is high. Food fortification is the most effective way to prevent iron deficiency. One of the foods that can prevent iron is green beans. Consuming 2 cups of green beans every day means consuming 50% of the daily requirement of iron, 18 mg and can increase hemoglobin levels for 2 weeks. The purpose of this PKM is to provide an alternative picture of food in increasing hemoglobin levels in adolescents. The method used in this PKM is screening anemia through examination of hemoglobin and health education in young women in SMK 1 Tegal City. PKM results show that there is an increase in adolescent knowledge about anemia, the number of adolescent girls experiencing anemia is 35% of the total respondents. Iron is the main nutrient that plays an important role in the synthesis of hemoglobin so that the lack of iron intake obtained from food causes hemoglobin levels to decrease.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic (Corona virus) is a pandemic transmitted by the corona virus that attacks humans, especially children and the elderly. The transmission of Covid-19 can be through droplets; therefore, it is necessary to prevent it through health protocol, namely clean and healthy living habits, including using masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, and increase body immunity, The purpose of community service is to provide education about the function of vitamins, and how to use an alcoholic-based antiseptic solution for children Ar-Rodiyah Tembalang Orphanage, Semarang. This activity was carried out by lecturers, D4 Health Analyst students and S2 Clinical Laboratory Science students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang on January 31, 2021. The target of this activity was 51 children aged 8-20 years. The results of the implementation of community service at the Ar-Rodiyah orphanage Semarang were distributing 2 posters about the function of vitamins, and how to use an alcoholic-based antiseptic solution, then during the meeting an explanation of the material and the function of vitamins, and how to use an alcoholic-based antiseptic solution and questions and answers was delivered during the meeting. The conclusion from this community service increase knowledge of orphans about function of vitamin from 30 to 80 and knowledge to use alcohol-based antiseptic fluids correctly can increase from 45 to 90. The orphaned children also really hoped for sustainability of this community service activity with other counseling material.

Abstract

The success of a country can be seen from the results of the Human Achievement Index (IPM) owned by the country. One indicator of HDI is health status. This community service has the aim of increasing people's motivation to maintain education on healthy lifestyles. In carrying out this community service, the method used in this community service activity is to conduct interactive health seminars, so that the expected materials and objectives can reach the community directly. The conclusions obtained from this activity are as follows, overall (100%) the people of Pegagan Julu IV village feel the benefits of the healthy lifestyle education activities that are delivered, but in their commitment to living a healthy lifestyle there are only 90% of the people who are committed to maintaining health, through a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

Public outrage over the Covid-19 pandemic has a detrimental effect on the habit of staying at home and contributes to increased household waste. The temporary closure of the TPTS Piyungan Yogyakarta has exacerbated the problem of garbage and household waste accumulation. Al Fatah Kindergarten, in collaboration with the School of Pharmacy Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, wishes to encourage the community to practice environmental stewardship. The environmental conservation effort will begin at home with domestic waste management. This guidance tries to broaden the public's perception and understanding of waste. Online counseling and training are available on two primary topics: "Wise Waste Management Begining at Home" and "Making Soap and Candles from Waste Cooking Oil." "Wise to Manage Waste Beginning at Home" discusses how to separate waste and repurpose it starting with household waste. Meanwhile, "Making Soap and Candles from Used Cooking Oil" provides instruction on how to make simple soap and candles from used cooking oil, a common household waste. According to the questionnaires distributed to participants, some participants gained additional insight into how to incorporate sustainable living practices, particularly waste management, into their daily lives. Additionally, participants can comprehend the definition and practice of  garbage charity. As many as 94 percent of service users expressed satisfaction with their waste processing experience.

Abstract

Milkfish is a marine commodity that has a lot of potential to be developed, one of which is soft-boned milkfish in Semarang City. Mbak Sofi's Milkfish Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) of “Bandeng Mbak Sofi” is one of the MSMEs that processes fresh milkfish into soft-boned milkfish. However, the milkfish processing in the MSME is still relatively simple and there is no good management of MSME management. This service aims to help Mbak Sofi's milkfish MSME in an effort to increase innovation and quality of the milkfish processing produced and its management. The main problems faced by the partner are the relatively short shelf life of soft-boned milkfish, limited facilities and infrastructure for processing, management of MSME management, and marketing. Some of the steps that will be taken for the implementation of this program are the provision of supporting infrastructure for the processing and the innovation of milkfish processing. In addition, for regulatory processes, PIRT has been issued for soft-boned milkfish products and other products. Lack of creativity in processing can be given a solution by increasing the innovation of milkfish-based products. Production management, finance, distribution and marketing will also be the focus of this program. With the implementation of this service program, the quality of the soft-boned milkfish is better and is able to compete in a wider market.

Abstract

In this new normal era, besides complying with health protocols, it is also important to maintain good immunity. One of the efforts to maintain a healthy body is by consuming selected spices that are used as immunity herbs. This community service activity aims to socialize the efficacy and methods of immune herbs made from selected spices. The method used in community service is the community development method. The activity was carried out in Petungsewu Village, Dau District, Malang Regency on December 26, 2020, and involved 15 participants. The material was delivered using the lecture method, then continued with discussions and simulations of making immunity herbs. Interviews were also conducted to obtain participant responses. The results of the activity showed that the participants were enthusiastic about participating in the activity from beginning to end. Participants listened to material about the active compounds contained in selected spices consisting of turmeric, ginger, lemongrass, cinnamon, cloves, and lime, as well as their health benefits as antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, can warm the body, and so on. Participants also looked at the pamphlets that were distributed. Participants also gave a positive response when participating in the practice of making herbal medicine and be able to make immunity herbs independently.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to provide soybean nursery business management training to help reduce the rate of soybean imports in Indonesia and provide soybean nursery training using F.T.A Serum to empower the people of Purwakarta. The method used in this community service activity is training and program socialization carried out by the community service team as well as assistance in evaluating activities. In addition, the service team also provides assistance to the management of soybean cultivation to the community, especially soybean business actors by using different planting media. The next method is to provide information related to soybean seeding by experts from PT. Dwitunggal Nusa Mandiri and conducts nursery business management training for business actors as well as human resource management. The result of this community service activity is that the management of the soybean nursery business using F.T.A serum has succeeded in increasing the number of harvests in each period. The community gave a very positive response to this community service activity because this activity was very beneficial for soybean business actors in Purwakarta..

Abstract

Dapur Umma is a micro business in the culinary field that produces various bottled chili sauce, dried potatoes and spring rolls and fireworks. Based on the results of the field survey, it was found that Dapur Umma had limited problems in marketing its products to the public during the Covid-19 pandemic, where the number of requests that usually came from outside the city fell by up to 60%. This is a problem that cannot be found for a solution because (1) the lack of knowledge about how to promote their products digitally which is interesting and unique and has durability (2) Limited knowledge in financial management to be able to calculate the profit value of the sale of Umma Kitchen. This Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to help the Umma Kitchen Micro Business which is engaged in the business of chili sauce, dried potatoes and firecracker spring rolls to be able to increase sales value through digital-based marketing and financial management techniques solutions. The final result of this activity can increase the production and marketing value from 45% to 85%.

Abstract

The difficulty experienced by the board members of the Khoirunnisa Taklim Council in managing the elderly TPA is the low motivation and ability to read Al-Quran in elderly women. They complained that the Iqro method used was considered too serious and monotonous so that the mothers had difficulty and lack of enthusiasm in learning to read the Koran. Thus, this service program aims to introduce the Ummi method and the 10-hour learning method of reading Al-Quran for elderly TPA teachers. This service program method is carried out in four stages, namely planning, implementation, technical assistance, and evaluation of service success. The results of this service program show that; (1) Workshops on the Qur'anic learning method using the Ummi method and the 10-hour method have been able to improve the insight and skills of elderly TPA teachers; (2) The 10-hour Quran reading learning method is more desirable than the UMMI method because it is free and easy to implement. Meanwhile, Ummi's method was considered too procedural and expensive to follow; (3) The 10-hour learning method for reading the Koran is proven to be effective in increasing the motivation of elderly mothers in learning to read the Koran because the material is easily accessible, shared, and practical. The implication of this service for the community is that in learning Al-Quran, it must prioritize the elements of fun, convenience, and according to the age of the students.

Abstract

 Ranuyoso is one of the villages in Lumajang Regency which has the potential to become a tourism village. This potential is supported by the existence of an 8 (eight) hectare unused land owned by Perhutani, whose management rights are handed over to villagers, but its utilization has not been maximized to support the program for establishing a tourism village. Therefore, this community service program is the first step towards realizing the development of Ranuyoso as a tourism village. The activity carried out is in the form of data collection as a reference for mapping the concept of the Ranuyoso tourism village. By applying the principles of Community Based Tourism (CBT), this activity involves the active role of villagers in Focus Group Discussions (FGD), interview, and field observation. The results of this activity show that Ranuyoso village has several potentials in the form of hills, springs, fruits, and distinctive arts and culture that can be developed as assets of a tourism village. These potentials are the basis for formulating the concept of Ranuyoso tourism village, namely a tourism village that presents the integration of water tourism, culture and arts tourism, fruit tourism, and adventure tourism. In addition, this activity also resulted in a draft of cooperation agreement between Faculty of Cultural Studies Universitas Brawijaya (FCS UB) and Forest Village Community Institution (LMDH) as a legal basis for discussing cooperation related to the development of Ranuyoso..
