J-PEN Borneo : Jurnal Ilmu Pertanian is a scientific journal in the field of agricultural science, published by Faculty of Agriculture, Borneo Tarakan University, North Kalimantan. Abstract

Kajian pemanfaatan limbah jerami sebagai pakan ternak sapi di Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang, Kecamatan Baranti, Desa Tonrorijang bertujuan untuk mengintroduksikan teknologi pakan sapi berbasis jerami padi. Prosedur penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi kordinasi dengan dinas pertanian dan peternakan serta kantor bpp baranti dimaksud untuk mengetahui permasalahan dan kebutuhan teknologi, pembuatan fermentasi jerami padi dengan menggunakan probiotik, pembuatan urea molases em 4. Sapi yang digunakan sebanyak 4 ekor berdasarkan berat badan sekitar 100-300 kg. Metode yang digunakan deskriptif kualitatif dalam pengkajian pemanfaatan limbah jerami padi sebagai pakan ternak. Hasil penelitian dalam pembuatan pakan ternak sapi dari jerami padi dengan komposisi urea 400 gram, jerami 10 kg, dedak 500 gram, molases 600 gram, air 1 liter, EM4 100 ml. Hal ini mampu memberikan manfaat kepada masyarakat dalam pemanfaatan limbah jerami padi.

Abstract

Spodoptera frugiperda pests attack many food crops, including rice plants. Their larval life stage destroys rice plants and cause crop failure due to the attack rate, which can lead to yield losses of up to 80%. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of botanical pesticides against fall armyworm pests and determine the concentration of botanical pesticides that are most appropriate to be used to control fall armyworm pest populations on rice plants. This research was conducted from May to July 2023 in the experimental land of Tonrong Rijang Village, Kacamatan Baranti, Sidrap Regency. The treatment of this study is P0 (control), P1 (100 ml botanical pesticide + 100 ml liquid soap + 800 ml water), P2 (300 ml botanical pesticide + 100 ml + 600 ml water), P3 (500 ml botanical pesticide + 100 ml liquid soap), P4 (700 ml botanical pesticide + 100 ml liquid soap + 200 ml water). The results showed that the application of botanical pesticides had an intangible influence on fall armyworm pests on rice plants due to the rain factor, which resulted in botanical pesticides being washed off, causing the application dose to be less than pestimal. The highest fall armyworm pest attack mortality at P4 is with an average of 100%, and the application of P1 doses shows the highest average attack intensity of 48.47% with a medium-scale damage category, this is because if the concentration of botanical pesticides is getting smaller, the intensity of fall armyworm pest attacks that occur on plants is also high.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Actinomycetes in encapsulating soybean seeds to control damping-off disease caused by Sclerotium rolfsii. With national soybean demand reaching 22 million tons per year and domestic production only 1 million tons, increasing production is essential. One major constraint is the attack of plant pathogens such as S. rolfsii, which can cause significant losses. Actinomycetes were isolated from the rhizosphere of weeds and tested for their antagonistic activity in vitro. Seed encapsulation using various carriers (kaolin, talc, and zeolite) was conducted to determine the most effective formula. In vivo tests showed that the Actinomycetes isolate PM2 exhibited the best antagonistic activity, with the zeolite formulation reducing pre-emergence damping-off disease incidence to 12.50% and post-emergence damping-off to 8.25%, compared to the positive control. These results indicate that the use of Actinomycetes in soybean seed encapsulation is an effective and sustainable method for controlling damping-off disease. Zeolite as a carrier proved to provide a supportive environment for antagonistic microbes, maintaining moisture and supplying necessary nutrients. This research reveals the great potential of Actinomycetes as a biocontrol agent in plant disease management strategies, which can significantly enhance soybean production and support national food security.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan kelompok tani di Kecamatan Maritengngae terhadap penyuluh pertanian. Manfaat dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai bahan evaluasi kinerja penyuluh pertanian terhadap petani di Kecamatan Maritengngae dan untuk menambah wawasan pengetahuan individu dalam meningkatkan hasil usaha pertanian. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April-Juni 2023 di Kecamatan Maritengngae, Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus (case study),  dengan menggunakan metode simple random sampling (acak). Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam  penelitian ini adalah observation participant dan wawancara mendalam (in depth interview) kepada  responden yang telah ditentukan, selain itu jenis data yang dikumpulkan yaitu data primer. Selanjutnya pengolahan dan analisis data dalam penelitian ini yaitu secara deskriptif  kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, bahwa didapatkan hasil tujuan : tingkat kepuasan kelompok tani di Kecamatan Maritengngae terhadap penyuluh pertanian sangat memuaskan dengan rata-rata penilaian petani dari hasil penelitian yaitu di atas 4,20 yang dikategorikan sangat puas. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kinerja penyuluh pertanian sangat membantu petani dalam meningkatkan hasil pertaniannya

Abstract

Beras adalah makanan pokok yang penting bagi hampir seluruh masyarakat Indonesia. Perdagangan membentuk saluran distribusi beras dari petani ke konsumen. Struktur pasar yang terbentuk akan menentukan sistem penetapan harga komoditi yang dipengaruhi lembaga yang terlibat dan posisi lembaga tersebut pada pasar. Salah satu sentra pengembangan sektor pertanian di Pulau Sebatik adalah Kecamatan Sebatik Barat. Kecamatan Sebatik Barat merupakan wilayah pengembangan usahatani padi. Padi merupakan jenis komoditi yang baru dikembangkan oleh petani di Desa Binalawan, yang sebelumnya didominasi komoditi kelapa sawit dan kakao. Petani padi di Kecamatan Sebatik Barat umumnya bersifat subsisten dan menerima harga pasar. Keterbatasan pengetahuan kelayakan usahatani dan informasi pasar menjadi kelemahan yang memperlemah posisi tawar petani. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji struktur, perilaku, dan kinerja pemasaran beras di Kecamatan Sebatik Barat. Metode peneltian yang digunakan adalah sensus. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perilaku pasar membentuk dua saluran pemasaran yaitu Saluran 1(petani – pedagang pengecer – konsumen akhir) Saluran 2(petani – pedagang pengepul – pedagang pengecer – konsumen akhir).  Secara umum, tingkat efisiensi pemasaran beras pada setiap saluran pemasaran yang terbentuk di Kecamatan Sebatik Barat termasuk dalam kategori efisien.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the Mattoanging farmer group in increasing maize production in the Massepe Village. This quantitative descriptive research uses a non-experimental approach with a survey type. The research using a questionnaire obtained an average percentage in learning classes 72.3%, in collaboration vehicles of 75.8%, and production units of 81.2%. After being analyzed using the Rank-Spearman Correlation, the correlation coefficient in the learning class was 0.678. In cooperative vehicles, it is 0.683; in production units, it is 0.654. These three values indicate a strong relationship with a positive direction. The significance value obtained from the three variables is below 0.05 (α = 5%). This means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means that there is a significant relationship between the role of the Mattoanging farmer group as a learning class, a vehicle for cooperation, and a production unit in increasing maize production in Massepe Village, Tellu Limpoe District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas profitabilitas budidaya tanaman selada dengan cara sistem Hidroponik pada CV. Senayan Hidroponik. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Panreng, Kecamatan Baranti, Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang, berlangsung pada bulan Maret - April 2023. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Data kuantitaif merupakan data berupa angka-anggka berupa laporan keuangan (neraca dan laba rugi) dan rasio-rasio keuangan. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menjelaskan kinerja keuangan CV. Senayan Hidroponik menggunakan rasio Profitabilitas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh total biaya produksi CV. Senayan Hidroponik adalah sebesar Rp. 11.565.000. Penerimaan CV. Senayan Hidroponik adalah Rp 28.800.000, Return on Assests (ROA) yaitu 27%, Profit Margin = 16,9 %. Return on Equity (ROE) : 27%.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the comparison of production costs and profitability levels between raising laying hens in Close house  and Open space facilities. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method, conducted from September to November 2023 at PT. Cahaya Tiga Putri, located in Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The analysis included analyzing Return on Assets (ROA), Cost to Revenue Ratio (R/C), Net Profit Margin (NPM), Gross Profit Margin (GPM), and Basic Earning Power (BEP). The research findings indicate that the ROA of Close house  (76,06%) is higher compared to Open space (41,37%). The R/C ratio of Close house  (1,58) is also superior to Open space (1,31). NPM in Close house  (30,08%) exceeds Open space (20,91%), while GPM in Close house  (36,97%) outperforms Open space (25,45%). BEP in Close house  (93,43%) significantly surpasses Open space (50,34%). Thus, this study recommends farmers to switch to Close house  facilities to achieve cost efficiency in production and enhance profitability.

Abstract

The provision of quality potato seeds is a problem faced by farmers. Tissue culture propagation is an effort to increase the availability of quality seeds. The success of tissue culture is influenced by the ability to control environmental conditions, growth regulators, and growing media at the acclimatization stage. The research aims to determine the interaction between the use of auxin concentrations and the planting medium and to obtain the appropriate concentration of auxin and planting medium for potato acclimatization. The research used a split-plot design with 2 factors and 3 replications. The main plot is the auxin concentration consisting of 3 levels; 1 ppm, 2 ppm, and 3 ppm. Subplots are planting media consisting of 3 levels; husk charcoal:vermicompost, cocopeat:vermicompost, and husk charcoal:cocopeat:vermicompost. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and followed by DMRT at a 5% level. The results showed that there was an interaction between the treatment of 3 ppm IAA concentration and the planting medium of husk charcoal:cocopeat:vermicompost on the plant height parameter 4 WAP. The IAA concentration of 3 ppm was better than the concentration of 1 ppm in the parameter number of leaves 8 WAP. The growing media of husk charcoal:cocopeat:vermicompost was better than the growing medium of charcoal husk:vermicompost on the parameters of plant height 8 WAP, number of leaves 8 WAP, leaf length and leaf width 8 WAP.
