Abstract

The use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in agriculture is growing rapidly. One of the IoT technologies that can be utilized in agriculture is smart farming. Smart farming is an agricultural method that uses information and communication technology to increase productivity and efficiency in the agricultural sector, one of which is hydroponics. Hydroponics is a farming technique without using soil media, which uses water as a medium for plant growth. However, in the application of smart farming Hydroponics, some obstacles still need to be overcome. One of these obstacles is plant monitoring which is still done manually, requiring a lot of time and effort. In addition, energy use is also a problem in smart farming Hydroponics applications. One solution to these obstacles is using a solar tracker to monitor smart farming hydroponics. A solar tracker is a technology used to follow the movement of the sun to increase energy efficiency. By using a solar tracker, maximum energy can be generated, so that it can be used for monitoring smart farming hydroponics.

Abstract

Recognition or identification is important to make it easier for us to recognize a type of plant or plant community. Each type has characteristics that have adapted to its habitat. Plants that exist in dry land areas including those around the University of Timor campus, it is necessary to identify or carry out scanning to identify names, characteristics and benefits and status in nature. Scanning is often done manually so that it is sometimes less effective and efficient familiar to the lay public. The aim of this research is to integrate scanning methods with optimizing ICT media such as using the “Sincatanesa” (Plant Scanning System) application with QR Code. The method used is a combination between observation methods and identifying specific tree growth forms and input into the “Sincatanesa” application which has been designed by researcher. Taxonomic data ranging from kingdom to species, habitus, benefits and IUCN status of each existing tree. Then make it QR Code attached to each tree. There were 18 types of trees identified and a QR Code was created for identification in the “Sincatanesa” application. The data stored is internet based so there will be a lot of data that can be stored, can be edited easily It's easy and just scan the barcode to identify the tree. Hopefully this application is known and used by all academic community at the University of Timor and the wider community. Furthermore, the “Sincatanesa” application can be developed based on smartphone so that it becomes more flexible and easier to use.

Abstract

The cultivation of cocoa plants in Berau Regency has been carried out traditionally with pre-conflict productivity of 700-800 kg/ha, but after the conflict and attacks PBK (Cocoa Fruit Borer) was reported to be only half. The yield quality is also low due to the pest attack and minimum post-harvest treatment. In addition, farmer institutions to be able to carry out activities in the garden together have not been well formed. According to Development Planning Agency at Sub-National Level of Berau Regency, in 2009 the area of cocoa plants in Berau Regency covered an area of 8,644 ha with a production of 2,362 tons. The area is spread across eight districts. With so many chocolate plantations in Berau regency, it certainly makes buyers or visitors, both from related ninas and individuals, become overwhelmed to find the location of chocolate plantations. Therefore, an application is needed to facilitate the search for location and data about the location you want to visit. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or also known as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have recently experienced significant developments along with the advancement of geographic information technology. GIS is a computer-based information system that combines map elements (geographical) and information about the map (attribute data) designed to obtain, process, manipulate, analyze, demonstrate and display special data to complete planning, processing and research problems. With the web-based designed GIS application, it is able to solve problems related to the vast chocolate plantation in Berau.

Abstract

Decision Support Systems (DSS) are computer systems that analyze data and convert it into actionable information for decision-making. The prior application mainly emphasized design analysis in web development, neglecting the use of decision-making knowledge as a responsibility within the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.  Analyzing data to transform it into information is a complex task involving decision-making. The process of decision-making has a significant impact on the information generated for recommendation purposes.   Suggestions in a decision-making process only sometimes serve as a standard for leaders to implement immediately. However, it is essential to acknowledge that multiple suggestions are required to make a final decision since they provide a basis for comparison with earlier recommendations.  The Decision Support System (DSS) utilized in this research focuses on selecting the optimal criteria from several criteria. The research employed the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique, which consists of six stages : Criteria Alternative Determination, Pairwise Matrix Comparison, Criteria And Making Matrix, Square of Pairwise Matrix, Normalisation, and Alternative Ranking.   All six steps must be sequentially executed without skipping any stage, ensuring each stage complements the others and generates accountable information.   The research concludes by proposing a Decision Support System for Determining the Best Criteria for Lecturer Selection. This system utilizes the Lecturer Performance Index to provide recommendations to parties seeking information on selecting criteria for assessing lecturer performance. The system aims to enhance accountability in the performance of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

Abstract

Flooding is a disaster that often threatens communities, especially in high-risk areas. It is not surprising that this disaster causes many losses to the community morally and materially. This is because the area is on the riverbank and is the lowest point. The purpose of this final project is to design a flood early warning system as a water level monitoring to minimize the losses caused by floods with a water level monitoring tool to provide early warning to the community in the event of a flood. This water level monitoring tool utilizes solar panels as an energy source, where this tool uses ultrasonic sensors as water level detection and rain sensors as rainfall detection. This tool requires 28.6 Watts of power to power the system and the accuracy of the ultrasonic sensor is 99.94% with an average ultrasonic sensor error of 0.05%. This water level monitoring tool will help improve the flood early warning system, thus enabling the community to take appropriate mitigation steps before floods reach dangerous levels. Thus, losses due to flooding can be reduced, and assets can be restored, communities can be better protected from the threat of flooding.
