Abstract

This research activity studies the design of particle board press machines using iron plate materials and manual labor-based hydraulic presses. This research aims to produce a work tool that can facilitate the continuity of processing sawdust into particle boards so that practical activities can be carried out effectively and efficiently while still paying attention to the values determined in the practicum. The research method is carried out using the study of existing tools and will be made another tool with more straightforward work by analyzing the factors of weakness in existing tools. The working mechanism of the sawdust press machine to be made is manual, using human power, and the sawdust press machine is intended for practical student activities in the laboratory.

Abstract

Soil conditions with weak zone points can cause damage to road structures such asland subsidence. Geoelectric surveys can identify subsurface structures based onvariations in rock resistivity. Road infrastructure crash due to weak zones of soilbearing capacity can be identified by geoelectric surveys and geotechnical tests assupporting analysis. Based on the master plan of Politani Samarinda 2025-2029 inthe southern area, a ring road of ± 1.5 km will be built, so geoelectric andgeotechnical support data are first needed as a basis for road planning. The mainobjective of this study is to mapping subsurface structure and identify the stability ofthe strong and weak zones of the soil in the planned area of the ring roadconstruction. The geoelectric resistivity survey uses the Wenner Schlumbergerconfiguration with 2 longitudinal tracks of ± 100 m per track with a spacing (a) of 5m which can identify the distribution of subsurface resistivity values laterallymapping. The resistivity value obtained from 2D geoelectric inversion is the lowestvalue of 2.62 ohm.m which is suspected as clay, medium 78.5 ohm.m which issuspected as sand, and the highest 7716 ohm.m which is suspected as sandstoneand used as a reference in the strong zone of the road building foundation.Furthermore, the USCS classification geotechnical test at 2 track points resulted insand (SM) and silt clay (MH) soil types based on mechanical laboratory tests. Theresults of the identification of geoelectric surveys and geotechnical tests have asignificant correlation with road construction that has a potential strong zonebearing capacity because the top soil is in the form of silt, clay, sand which isunderneath in the form of sandstone which is strong enough to withstand the load ofroad construction.

Abstract

This study applies machine learning classification techniques to predict passenger displacement events based on corrupted data retrieved from a hypothetical interstellar spacecraft mission. Using a cleaned and preprocessed dataset containing demographic, behavioral, and exposure-related features, we compare the performance of three classification models: Random Forest, Support Vector Machine (SVM), and XGBoost. Each model is trained on 80% of the data and evaluated on the remaining 20% using precision, recall, f1-score, and accuracy metrics. The SVM model shows the most notable improvement after feature selection, achieving a balanced performance across metrics. Meanwhile, Random Forest and XGBoost models maintain consistent and robust accuracy above 80% on both training and testing sets. Feature importance analysis also supports the interpretability of the models, particularly in Random Forest and XGBoost. The comparative analysis demonstrates that ensemble-based methods such as Random Forest and XGBoost are more effective in handling the complexity of the dataset, making them suitable for predictive tasks in high-dimensional, partially incomplete data scenarios.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the cost performance of the Integrated Laboratory Building construction project by comparing the 2023 and 2025 Cost Budget Plans (Rencana Anggaran Biaya/RAB). The objective is to identify cost variances in each major work category and evaluate the efficiency of budget utilization. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using official RAB documents from both periods as the primary data source. Variance analysis was conducted by calculating absolute and percentage differences between the estimated and contract values. The results indicate that the total budget in 2025 decreased by IDR 1.35 billion (2.91%) compared with the 2023 estimate. Significant cost increases occurred in electrical panel works (430.3%) and plumbing systems (152.7%), while the greatest efficiencies were achieved in façade works (13.6%) and air-conditioning systems (13.8%). Overall, the 2025 contract value achieved an efficiency level of 97.09% relative to the estimated budget, indicating good and efficient cost performance in project implementation.
