Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan gambar berseri sebagai media pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan menulis paragraf narasi siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui dua test, yakni pre-test dan post-test terhadap dua kelompok siswa. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas delapan (VIII) di SMP Negeri 22 Bandar Lampung yang terdiri dari 38 siswa dari kelas VIII-H sebagai kelompok kontrol dan 38 siswa dari kelas VIII-G sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Kelompok eksperimen dikenakan perlakuan dengan media gambar berseri sedangkan kelompok control tidak diberi perlakuan. Data diolah dengan menggunakan uji-tterhadap dua sample yang kenakan treatment yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat signifikansi 1% = 2.64, 5% =1.99, dan t-hitung = 12.16, dapat dikatakan bahwa tingkat signifikan lebih kecil dari t-hitung. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peranan gambar berseri terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis paragraf narasi. Oleh karena itu disarankan kepada guru untuk menggunakan gambar berseri sebagai media pembelajaran paragrafnarasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa.

Abstract

This article was written to (1) describe the form and use of greeting expression based on lineages in the Lampung Ketapang community, South Sungkai Village,Kotabumi, North Lampung, (2) describe the form and use of greeting expression based on lineages in the Lampung Ketapang community, Sungkai Selatan Village, Kotabumi, North Lampung. The data in this study consisted of expression of greeting based on lineage in the Lampung community in Ketapang, South Sungkai Subdistrict, Kotabumi, North Lampung. Data has been collected using proficient methods with fishing techniques. The findings of this study are (1) the form and use of greeting expression based on lineages and based on marital lines.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh game Change The Story terhadap penguasaan kosa kata siswa dan nilai rata rata penguasaan kosa katasiswa yang telah belajar kosa kata melalui game Change The Story. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Jati Agung. Tes kosa katadigunakan untuk mengukur penguasaan kosa kata siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa game Change The Story mempengaruhi penguasaan kosa kata siswa. Terlebih lagi, nilai rata rata kosa kata siswa meningkat setelah diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan game Change The Story sebagai mediapembelajaran kosa kata. Dengan kata lain, game ini berhasil memperbaiki penguasaan kosa kata siswa. Secara praktis game tersebut telah memberikanefek terapi kepada siswa, sehingga mereka dapat memperoleh banyak kosa kata dari pada sekadar merubah isi cerita secara global. Hal ini dapat menjadi satuhal yang menjanjikan bagi guru dan peneliti yang akan datang untuk lebih mengeksplorasi game ini pada keterampilan bahasa yang lain, disamping kosakata sebagai komponen bahasa. Hal ini disebabkan oleh tugas guru untuk mampu memfasilitasi siswa dalam belajar. Tugas ini bisa dilakukan dengancara memberdayakan strategi atau teknik yang tepat dan dengan menciptakan suasana belajar yang kondusif dimana pembelajaran dalam kelas dapat merekarasakan seperti dunia mereka sendiri.

Abstract

Primary school age is the age of child growing that is the most important part of life. Children are like a sheet of white paper that will hold, and then saveall the scratches that are written on the paper. Likewise, children's memories, what children see will be stored in memory and will be imitated or even madeinto habits in life; this habit will grow into a character of the child later. In the Big Indonesian Dictionary, characters are interpreted as behavior or habits. Therefore, character becomes a very important thing to determine how a person behaves. The factors of character growth in child it self cannot beseparated from the role of parents and teachers as a major source of the role models for children. Errors in educating students that caused by the teachers can be dangerous for the process of children’s mental development. Of course, it will affect the character of the child. One of the bases for educating children is through courage, courage to be honest and courageous to speak up expressing things that become obstacles for children. Speaking skills are one of the media to build brave characters in elementary school-age children, by raising the ability to speak so that the child's mentality will be trained bravely. Especially, brave in expressing things or opinions that the children have from an early age. Therefore, it is hoped that intelligent, skilled, and brave generations will grow and have a strong character base in elementary school age children.

Abstract

The improvment of education in Indonesia should be done soon, because the quality of education in Indonesia is lower than others. To improve the quality of Indonesian teacher is by improving the collaboration of teacher competence by Training Lecturer Program at School. This activity will bring the positif effect to high school and the aim school. This program needs lecturer’s commitment to be a teacher in aim school. This activity becomes a new experience and it’s not easy to be done by a lecturer. The lecturer has a new habit there because it is different from their usuall habit. The purposes of Training Lecturer Program at School (1) giving a new experience in uderstanding and developing the students’ character, managing the activity of learning at school, and comprehending daily experience and sociocultural of society: (2) producting the device of collaborative learning between lecturer and teacher at aim school; (3 ) creating the quality of learning by making good atmosphere, the quality of device learning, and improving the successful of students; (4) improvement the relationship between high school with the aim school in all forms of the quality of learning. By Training Lecturer Program at School, it hopes could improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Abstract : Enhancing Learning Interest of Eighth Graders at SMP N 1 Abung Semuli By The Application of Cooperative Learning Method and Media.Direktorat pembelajaran always makes effort to improve education quality in Indonesia through revitalization program of Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan (LPTK). One of the programs is Penugasan Dosen di Sekolah (PDS). PDS is a program which aimed to build partnership between LPTK and lab schools as well as the other partner schools. The main goal is to improve the quality of teacher candidate and professional teacher. Relating to that goal, LPTK lecturer has a duty to teach directly at partner school and collaborate with partner teacher in the attempt to prepare and conduct an interesting, effective and technological based learning in order it can engage students’ learning interest. Therefore, cooperative learning method and media in this PDS program are applied in the attempt to increase students’ learning interest in English class.

Abstract

After undergoing stage 1 PDS program, namely the implementation of lecturers to become "teachers" in schools, the next stage is the implementation of PDS within the university environment. The implementation of the PDS program phase 2 is realized in the Strategy, Method and Learning Media courses. The implementation of the PDS program in tertiary institutions is based on the principle of lesson study. Based on the results of the application, there are a number of lesson learns obtained. Lesson learns include: 1) giving material with appropriate learning media becomes a special attraction for students, 2) the formation of learning groups allows students to develop collaborative and communicative abilities, 3) assignments in the form of videos in the application of collaborative learning methods make students learn directly so a more maximal understanding process is obtained.

Abstract

Abstract The basic understanding of critical discourse analysis is that discourse is not only understood as an object of language study. Language in the analysis of critical discourse in addition to the text also in the context of language as a tool that used for specific purposes and practices in the scope of setting, situation, history, power, and ideology. The Context is everything outside of the language itself. The main purpose of critical discourse analysis is to reveal the blur in discourse. To analyze the critical discourse, there were several approaches presented by experts, as follow; First, Norman Fairclough's approach produces a three-dimensional framework in understanding and analyzing discourse, namely the dimensions of discourse as text, discourse as discursive practice, and discourse as social practice by utilizing semiotics. Second, the approach to critical discourse analysis offered by Van Leeuwen centers on describing social actors in discourse and explaining how social actors were represented in a text. Third, Van Dijk's discourse analysis approach assembles sociocognitive ideologies, so that critical discourse analyzers could reveal ideologies hidden behind the text. Fourth, Wodak proposes a historical-discourse approach, which always integrates analysis of the historical context into the interpretation of discourse. While the fifth, Sara Mills’ approach emphasizes how women who were always marginalized were displayed in the text.

Abstract

Abstract: Semantic Analysis Research on the Self-Naming of the fourth semester of Physical Education Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Kotabumi University sourced from the names of students in the academic year 2018/2019 in class A (morning). Muhammadiyah University Kotabumi is a Muhammadiyah College (PTM) in North Lampung district which has interesting meanings in the students' self names. Based on the findings of the analysis, there are elements of naming from Javanese language and culture, naming that uses elements of foreign languages ​​(English, Arabic, Scottish), and from the combined elements of the names of parents or descendants in these names. This is the basis for researchers to study, especially those related to the language of elements and meanings contained in the name of the fourth semester Physical Education Study Program students at Muhammadiyah University, Kotbaumi. Understanding of the language of the elements and types of meaning can be known based on language as forming elements of student names and the types of meanings contained therein.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan dari tulisan ini adalah sebagai sumber ilmu pengetahuan pendidik dan siswa mengenai Peer Assisted Learning Strategy. Pendidik dapat mengunakan metode ini dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa inggris. Peer Assisted Learning Strategy adalah salah satu metode pembelajaran sambil bermain dan berkelompok sehingga proses pembejaran dapat menghasilkan hasil yang positif. Peer Assisted Learning Strategy adalah salah satu cara yang bagus yang dapat diaplikasikan kedalam proses pembejaran.
