Abstract

The purpose of this empowerment is to improve the ability of street children such as street musicians in increasing their income and also handling of waste / garbage in Surakarta. Managing street children holistically by considering various dimensions such as development of the community, characteristics of the community and the applied model will also produce a long-term impact. The methode used in this empowerment is participatori rurall appraisal by involving elemenst such as street children as a waste / garbage collector as a container / receiver, youth organization as a supervisor, and village officials as a protector. Garbage deposited will be recorder by the garbage collectors and accumulated at the end of the month. Therefore the money collected can be an additional earnings for them (street children). Evaluation is done every three months by youth organization and reported to the vilage officials. Evaluation of the first three months, there is still necessary guidance needed for the street children in order to remain diligent in carrying out their program. Empowerment in the Surakarta region particularly Nusukan and Semanggi villages has the potential to be applied also for housewives and teenagers.

Abstract

            The craft of knitted is a product knitted handicrafts hand performed manually, Not a bit of fashion products are made from knitted results, such as suits, shorts, scarves, sweeter, accessories, bags, and other products. Based on the problems faced by partner, required a method of the approach which has been agreed upon between parties college and the partner, namely : 1) Internet trainning, for the management of raw materials by means of the internet, providing training in order to be able to order raw materials are hard to come by, via the internet, 2) Double-knitt training for PKK, this training is intended to be able to acquire human resources who can knit properly, 3) Create Website, this website used to display a model/design knitted and the way of order. There are some activities already axecute on program IbM Pondok Baru Gentan, Sukoharjo, is as follows :1) Knitting training, Training will be  followed by PKK women, the number of participants 17 people. With the materials of  training are : a)  Introduction to the technique of knitting : knitting crafts, chrochet methods, b) Advance knitting Techniques, the method comprising brien knitting.2) Internet and Management Website Training. Training followed by 6 participants. With the materials of training as follows : a) Internet workshop. Includes : the internet, browsing, email, and social networking, b) Management Website includes : introduction page administrator consisting of the main menu, web modul and web admin.

Abstract

The gold standard in infant feeding and child starting from Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD), exclusive breastfeeding for the six months. One of the health problems faced in the area of health centers Pucang Sawit is the lack of motivation of counselor support group exclusive breastfeeding. There are only three groups motivator breastfeeding support so not comparable with the number of babies in the region Pucang Sawit. Approaches through peer (Peer Support) on exclusive breastfeeding support group as one of the community-based empowerment efforts so as to help improve coverage eksklusive breastfeeding in Surakarta close to the target so that the vision of becoming a pilot Surakarta can be realized. Implementation of service programs are divided into three programs: the first socialization to the cadre and peer group as well as breastfeeding support group facilitator conducted one day, both the implementation of training activities breastfeeding support group for 4 days which consists of four small groups and accompanied by two facilitators each and third activity is monitoring and evaluation results formations breastfeeding support groups.

Abstract

The purpose of community service on Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Milling and Marketing bussines of Traditional Medicinal Materials in Sukoharjo are: 1) Increasing knowledge about hygiene in working with medicinal products. 2) Increased capacity and management skills such as bookkeeping and packaging capabilities. 3) Increasing the effectiveness of the production, by using the appropriate machine tool. Indicators of  success in science and technology applied to  "business" in the form of increase in the value of the post-test and increased production of ≥ 25%. Results devotion: 1) Based results of pre-test and post-test there is an increased knowledge of hygiene and hygienic; business bookkeeping; packaging herbal products and herbal grinding machine which is an average of 42% (in the SME I) and 49% (in SME II). Improved skills about: business bookkeeping; packaging herbal medicine and  use of the machine tool by an average of 41.8% (in the SME I) and 41.6% (in SME II). 2) Based on the evaluation of production, in the SME I with the help of a machine tool there is increased production of flour milling medicinal average of 38.54%. In the SME II, with counseling and assistance labeled plastic, packaging bags models boiled herbs and spices grinding machine there is an increase in the marketing of herbal medicinal flour: 57.97%, boiled herbs marketing model of bag 38% and 64.4% herbal spice mill.

Abstract

Managing and packaging information of tourism destination is one of the important components of tourism at the regional level. However, the activities to manage the tourism information at the local level have not been handled well, due to the minimum knowledge and skills of local human resources on how to manage and develop the tourism information system. This community services aimed to empower the Group of Tourism Activist called Kelompok Sadar Wisata (POKDARWIS) Mutiara Mas to organizing and managing the tourism information of Krakal Beach, which is located at District of Gunung Kidul, DI Yogyakarta Province. The community services had been done in 2015, following some steps, i.e. 1) Exploration and identification the tourism objects, 2) Focus Group Discussion to collect some data from the perspective of local people, 3) Interview to some important figures to explore more information, 4) Do training for participants, and 5) Monitoring the program. Method to empowering the member of POKDARWIS called 3Mp, which is abbreviation of the first M is Mengumpulkan (Collecting), the second M is Mengolah (Processing), the third M is Memberikan (Giving), and the small p is for pelayanan (services). The result of community services were website of Krakal Beach tourism, pamphlet, direction board, and map of Krakal tourism destination. Another result was the establishment of a group of tourism guide called Kelompok Krakal Kreatif (in brief K3), which is a part of POKDARWIS with special tasks, i.e. to manage the information of Krakal tourism, and to guide tourist to know and enjoy the pleasures of Krakal Beach by providing various information services. Key Words: Pokdarwis empowerment, model 3Mp, tourism info, tourism guide, Krakal Beach

Abstract

The IbM aims at improving the ability of management SME I (Saikem SMEs ) and SME II (Satino SMEs) in making tempe and tempe chips in Jatisrono Wonogiri. The improvement of management capabilities are: ability to produce products with sanitation and food safety, packaging and labeling as well as bookkeeping. Evaluation and indicator for both SMEs in this program include (1) increasing participant's knowledge of the theories that have been given about the product tempe and tempe chips (2) increasing the participant’s skills towards the introduction of tools and assistance on the application of sanitary and food safety  packaging and labeling as well as  capability of bookkeeping. Pretest result is globally as follows : Saikem SMEs = 66.67 , Satino SMEs = 70 and average = 68.34. Post test results for  both SMEs has average = 100. The improvement of knowledge for Saikem SMEs is 49,93 % and for Satino SMEs is 42.86% or the is average= 46.40 %.. The Performance of IbM”s tool assistance for Saikem SMEs is 5 Kg / min (form of soy husk peeler), while that of Satino SMEs is 15 slices of tempe with an average of thickness of 0.2 cm for the tempe chopper. Average production of tempe on SaikemSMEs after soy husk peeler has been given is 27.5 % , while the production of tempe chips SatinoSMEs after tempe chopper has been given is 25 % . Both SMEs (Saikem SMEs and Satino SMEs) are able to perform the bookkeeping..

Abstract

In order to develop a group of partners into a training center professional and independent , need to strengthen the partner groups into the training center of organic agriculture with emphasis on curriculum guides , modules teaching materials , folder teaching materials , and a CD of teaching materials , training management professional , promotional activities , and management financial well done . To that end, it is in this activity try to help reproduce CDs necessary teaching materials , training " campaign management and marketing " training " media creation in the form of website promotion . Results of activity showed an increase motivation, knowledge promotion, marketing , the ability of farmers to make the promotion of online media (website), the drafting of a media campaign (website ) that pelatihanorganik.com and lumbungberasorganik.com , and propagation of teaching materials ( CD ) .

Abstract

During this time the carrot farmer groups in the village Gondosuli, Tawangmangu have constraints in the development of agribusiness carrots from the upstream aspects, on- farm up to downstream. And one of the main problems here is the difficulty in increasing production and the sale value of the carrots produced. Therefore devotion here is doing the processing and marketing technology introduction lunkhead carrots ie processing tools lunkhead carrots, entrepreneurship training and food processing carrots. Activity introduction of post-harvest technology is urgently needed by the farmer groups carrots Gondosuli in increasing production and selling value during the carrots that have a low value. Stages of activities that have been done of this devotion is in the form of the manufacture and provision of tools dodol carrots , entrepreneurial training and management of agro- carrots.Keywords : Carrot, Processing Technology and Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Dodol

Abstract

This article is written based on the community service program done by lectures of FKIP UNS. This program is aimed at improving professionalism of primary teachers in Surakarta Regency by holding affective assessment workshop based on 2013 curriculum. This workshop prepares all needs on preparing affective assessment instruments, including theoretical based, outline on planning instruments and rubric.  This methods used in this workshop are training and coaching. They are some facts found during the workshop. They are primary teachers have lack competence on preparing affective assessment instruments, developing ideas on written affective indicator, planning blue print and rubric.
