Abstract

Background, excessive exploitation of paddy land in the long term without the addition of organic matter have resulted in soil become damaged. To meet the needs of food (rice) healthy and improve the functioning of the land, then there is no best alternative except development of organic farming systems. To be able to implement a system of organic farming, it is necessary to aplication of seed quality assurance. IbPUD activities carried out ini the village Ketapang, local village government has formed group of paddy organic farmers, but due to constraints in the available of seed rice organic . The purpose, carry out assistance to Farmers and Farmers Group in the establishment of the sources of seed organic rice and the acquisition of organic certification. The method, is Focus Group Discussion which emphasizes dialogue interpersosnal and mentoring. The program is implementing educational methods that involve the active participation of the participants from the three (3) groups of paddy organic farmers partners in Ketapang. The training was held in the form of : (1) seed rice breading management trainin, (2) training of organic rice management with the use of local waste and can be as alternative of organic fertilizers, and (3) training buines management.Results, an increasing number of farmers' groups who implement sources of seed organic rice of 4 (four) varietas (Mentik Susu, Mentik Wangi, Hitam Arang and Merah Anoman) to 3 farmer groups (15Ha). In conclusion, most members of the Farmers Group Al-Barokah have felt: (a) the benefit of the treatment of organic in terms of soil quality and the products of organic rice and its by-products, (b) an increase in value-added organic products and farmers' income, (c) the importance of maintaining paddy according to its function, (d) have become independent farmers in organic rice cultivation.Keywords: Organic farming systems, Organic certification, Interpersonal dialogue

Abstract

IbM activity was held at the An-Nahl and YAUMIHA orphanage Sragen. The method were counseling, training, and mentoring maintenance layer, providing complete equipment, marketing and management administration and composting. The target of outcomes are resulting child in orphanage which economically independent, and sustainable of layer egg production. There were 96 bateray cages, place of feed, nipple drinker, eggtray, 96 Brown Leghorn pullet and layer feed given to orphanage. From the results of quisioner counseling increased the value of correct answers (knowledge increased) after counseling was 219 points compared before the 118 point extension. Peak production of eggs at 30 weeks of layer age of 98%. Sales of perkilo eggs with the price of Rp.17.000-Rp.20.000/kg. Business analysis with a net profit of Rp. 23.000,-per day. Through these activities, students' abilities and skills An-Nahl and YAUMIHA orphanage have increased and are expected to be economically self-sufficient. Abstract

Ecotourism is currently growing rapidly. This type of tourism is environmentally friendly tourism that promotes the aspects of nature conservation, socio-cultural empowerment, and local community economy, as well as aspects of learning and education. Several local governments seized this opportunity, among them is Karanganyar. Jatirejo Village in Ngargoyoso Subdistrict is one of the villages in Karanganyar which developed as ecotourism destination by exploiting its local potency, that is red guava cultivation. To strengthen the image of Jatirejo Village as the Red Guava Tour Village, it needs several development strategies, among them creating a unique souvenir by utilizing local potency. In this activity is conducted red guava processed development as souvenir typical of Red Guava Tour Village. Partners coupled in this activity is SME (Small Medium Enterprise) Putra Jambu currently processing red guava fruit into ice cream and Kelompok Makmur Candi Tani who currently cultivate the red guava and process the red guava leaves into chips. Both SMEs have constraints in the form of limited production technology, resulting in inconsistent product quality, short shelf life, low production capacity and narrow marketing reach, and limited marketing. The first activities of IbM were accompanied the SMEs to prepare the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP). Introduction of packaging and improvement of labeling on red guava leaf chips also have revealed by this program. Several production equipments also introduced to the SMEs such as ice cream maker machine, automatic sealer, and ice cream distribution equipment (freezer). This program also conducted training and marketing assistance. With this activity, there is an improvement of product quality, performance efficiency improvement, and market expansion of SME Putra Jambu and Farmers Grup Candi Makmur.Keywords: ecotourism, red guava, Karanganyar, Ngargoyoso, Souvenirs

Abstract

Land suitability for particular uses is usually evaluated using land characteristics or land quality. Land suitability is crucial to determining the success of a plant's production. Janggelan plants are potential commodities that are potential to be developed. Technological opportunities and innovations in the development of Janggelan are very wide open, both as a source of food, biopharmaceutical, industrial, and trade. The cultivated land has been exported to Thailand, Vietnam and China in dry form. However, during this time, janggelan plants have not been developed and only planted as side crops in agroforestry. The purpose of this activity is the development of janggelan plant based on land suitability analysis in Pacitan Regency and increase the production of grass jelly in Pacitan regency.Keywords : janggelan, land suitability, Pacitan.

Abstract

Wunut Village is located in Tulung Sub-District, Klaten Regency which has the horticultural potential such as tomato and chili. But the huge potential has not been able to lift the economy of the village community. Therefore the community devotion team of Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University chose Wunut Village as the target village. The problems faced by farming communities in Wunut Village are (1) production of chili and tomatoes are abundant, but the selling price is relatively low; (2) the large number of poor people; (3) lack of knowledge and community insight about entrepreneurship in the field of food; (4) interest in entrepreneurship is still lacking in society; And (5) the difficulty of marketing the resulting product. The solutions offered by the community devotion team are through training activities and the introduction of tomato processing technology into “torakur”; Training and introduction of production process technology of shredded pepper; Entrepreneurship training and food industry management; Information technology-based marketing training and direct selling strategies. In order to support these activities, aids were also provided to improve the quality of the chakra and the resulting chili pepper. Equipment provided in the form of cabinet dryer, dry mill, and packer sealer. The result of this activity in the form of introduction of tomato processing technology into “torakur”, and processing of chili into shredded chili has been done well, with products that can be accepted by society and have a big prospect to be developed.Keywords:entreprenuership, quality, torakur, shredded chili, Wunut Village

Abstract

Concrete brick is a kind of non structural brick which can be used for street, parking lot, sidewalk, park and another necessity. Concrete brick is made of the mixture of portland cement type one, water and aggregate as the filler materials. The ussage of concrete brick is more eco friendly compared with brick, moreover the ussage of concrete brick grows rapidly, especially in Solo lately because of the rapid growth of housing estate and bisnis area.Observing the expansion of the concrete brick necessity so Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan (PTB) workshop develop it to concrete brick entrepreneurship program. This program was aimed through college entrepreneurship which is managed by the unversity students to study about entrepreneurhip. The college developing program are entrepreneurship training for the students, form a concrete brick production unit, incubation of the concrete brick bisnis and creating a new entrepreneur as the result. PTB workshop has and enough place for the development of the college entrepreneur. From the result of entrepreneurship activity the students can develop cncrete brick bisnis unit so it can be used as a additional income.The result of college entrepreneurship activity has made a concrete brick bisnis unit and management office in Pabelan Campus UNS. This activity is involving ten university students from various major, mostly from PTB major. There are two kinds of concrete brick that has been made; Rejal concrete brick and hollow concrete brick. Six hundred concrete brick has been made with the size 10 cm x 15 cm x 30 cm and 10 cm x 20 cm x 40 cm. Abstract

Tanjungharjo Village, Nanggulan, Kulonprogo, has wide variety of agricultural products that has not been processed optimally. One example is breadfruit. The cultivation and development of this breadfruit has been started by the government of Special District of Yogyakarta since 2003. With several ways of processing, breadfruit fruits can be used to support food diversification. The Successful of development and diversification of breadfruit processing into region’s food can increase its selling value so that impact on improving public welfare. Klajuran is one Hamlet of Tanjungharjo Village, has ‘Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Ngudi Makmur’ with 25 members joining. This group is usually processing breadfruit using the traditional ways by steaming or friying, but the product is not so acceptable by the community. One of the factors causing the lack of processing of these products is the lack of knowledge about the various ways of processing, packaging technology and financial management in producing various foods from breadfruit as business opportunity. Based on the description, the research and community service institutions of Mercu Buana University of Yogyakarta has provided counseling and training on the processing of breadfruit’s donut cake, packaging and financial management to increase the economic income of the group members.Keywords: Bredfruit, donut cake, counseling, training, production

Abstract

Batik “Puspa Kencana” and Batik “Tahta” are part of batik industrial center located in Kampung Laweyan Surakarta. As a growing business unit in the global market, Batik “Puspa Kencana” and Batik “Tahta” have big challenges in market access and business competitiveness improvement. Marketing activities undertaken by both partners through the process of direct sales to customers and following the exhibition. The marketing model made the market access limited to Surakarta and its surrounding areas only. Utilizing technology by building online stores and digital profiles can be one solution to expand market access for Batik “Puspa Kencana” and Batik “Tahta” Laweyan. The methods used for community service activities are training, program implementation and application maintenance assistance. Partners are very enthusiastic and helped by the implementation of digital marketing because the introduction of stores and marketing activities can be done easily wherever and whenever through online stores and company digital profiles that can be accessed by internet and social media.

Abstract

The orphanage is a place to accommodate, nurture and care for orphans and the poor. The existence of this orphanage becomes an important part for the continuity of education foster children. In addition to formal education, non-formal education is required in the form of certain skills to be provision of life skills. Based on the results of the survey of foster children living in Panti Asuhan Yatim Putri Aisyiyah and Panti Asuhan Yatim Putra Muhammadiyah in Karanganyar have sufficient time to spare and they do not have the provision of skills that are meaningful for his life. Therefore they need to be given life skills provision in the preparation of entrepreneurial skills.For the realization of orphanage children with provision of suffice life skills, the team of community service from FKIP UNS provides training of entrepreneurs vegetables cheese stick. The training is done through lacturing and practicing. The subject of lecturing is the theory of vegetable cheese stick entrepreneurship. Further practicing on how to produce vegetables chesee stick with a variety of vegetables are used. After the competent participants make the products that have been taught, then the team of servants accompany in the packaging and marketing.Based on the implementation of the training vegetable cheese stick entrepreneurship and evaluation directly and through questionnaire, the activity was greeted positively by all participants. Participants actively participate in all activities and are eager to follow up with production and marketing. This entrepreneurship training has increased life skills for foster children in Panti Asuhan Yatim Putri Aisyiyah and Panti Asuhan Yatim Putra Muhammadiyah.Keywords: Life Skills, Orphanage, Entrepreneurship, Vegetables Cheese stick
