Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe students' difficulties in solving HOTS-based math problems for Class X SMA Negeri 1 Majene. The approach used in this research is mixed methods. The research subjects used the purposive sampling technique, namely 5 students out of 30 students in class X MIPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Majene. The research data was collected through HOTS-based math test questions and interviews. The research data were analyzed using quantitative analysis and qualitative data analysis. This study showed that the average score of the HOTS-based math test questions for class X MIPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Majene was 28.1333. In addition, this study also showed that the subject categories were very low, low and were experiencing difficulties in solving problems including not being able to use concepts, problems and principles. In the high category subjects experienced several indicators of difficulty in solving problems including being unable to use concepts, verbal problems and principles. In the very high category subjects have no difficulty in solving questions including being able to use concepts, verbal problems and principles

Abstract

The research to determine the description of resilience, description of communication skills the relationship between learning change resilience online to offline on students' mathematical communication skills  and the magnitude of the relationship of resilience to students' mathematical communication skills. This research is a quantitative research. with descriptive and correlation analysis techniques. The results showed that: 1) students' mathematical resilience abilities were able to meet the indicators; 2) students' mathematical communication skills are able to meet the indicators; 3) there is a relationship between the resilience of online and offline learning changes to students' mathematical communication skills and 4) there is a very strong positive relationship between the resilience and the mathematical communication ability

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematical problem solving ability of students. It is known based on the results of interviews that students experience difficulties when solving questions.This study aims to: 1) find out whether there are differences in the initial abilities of the experimental class and control class students at MTS Ashhabul Maimanah; 2) whether the problem solving ability of students given discovery model learning is better than the conventional model; 3) How is the effect of discovery learning model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities in class VIII. This research is an experimental quantitative research. Data collection techniques using a problem-solving ability test which amounts to five questions in the form of a description. And the data analysis technique was carried out by normality test, homogeneity test, average difference test, and effect size test. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the problem-solving ability was the average value of the experimental class 78.75 while the control class was obtained by 65 and for t_count = 3,431 > t_table = 1,685 so that was rejected and was accepted. In this study, it can be concluded that: 1) there are differences in the initial abilities of the experimental class and control class students at MTS Ashhabul Maimanah; 2) students' mathematical problem solving ability given the discovery learning model is better than the conventional learning model; 3) the effect of the use of discovery learning models on the mathematical problem solving ability of class VIII students at MTS Ashhabul Maimanah is said to be high

Abstract

The background in this study is the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students at MTs Nur Et-Taqwa Cikande is still low. This can be seen from the average score at the school is still below the KKM, which is 72, and the perspective of students in learning mathematics is not good and the learning model used is still a conventional learning model which makes students still passive or not active in learning. This study aims to determine whether the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who are taught using generative learning is better than students who are taught using conventional learning and to find out how the influence of generative learning models on the ability to understand mathematical concepts. This research uses quantitative research with True Experimental Design method using pretest-posttest control group design type. The data collection technique used is the test. The data analysis used is normality test, homogeneity test, similarity test of two averages and effect size test. The population used was all eighth grade students at MTs Nur Et-Taqwa Cikande. This study used a total sampling technique, namely class VIII A with a total of 21 students as the experimental class and VIII B with a total of 20 students as the control class. Based on the similarity test of the two averages and the effect size test so that the results of the test of the difference between the two averages can be seen in the equal variance assumed section, the value tcount = 2.680 > 2.672 with a significant value of 0.011 < 0.05 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. While the test using the effect size is 0.85 with an interpretation of the effect size of 79% which is a high category

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether the application of the cooperative learning model in the process of learning mathematics in SPtLDV material has an influence or not on student learning outcomes. The subjects in this study were students of class X IPA 1 at SMAS MALNU Menes Center, totaling 20 students, consisting of 4 male students and 16 female students. The type of research used is a pre-experimental design with the type one-group pretest-posttest design. The data collection technique used is through pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique used is the normality test and paired t-test hypothesis with the help of SPSS software. From the results of the research conducted, it can be seen that the p-value (sig. (2-tailed)) in the paired t-test <0.05. This shows that there is a significant difference between before and after applying the cooperative learning model in the mathematics learning process. In addition, this can also be seen from the average score before (pretest) and after (posttest) applying the cooperative learning model, namely the average score in the pretest is 59,5, while the average score in the posttest is 72,5. So it can be concluded that the application of the cooperative learning model in the mathematics learning process SPtLDV material influences the learning outcomes of class X IPA 1 students at SMAS MALNU Pusat Menes

Abstract

Rice plants are food for the people of Indonesia. The availability of productivity data is one of the key instruments in planning and evaluating government policies to increase national rice production. BPS has collected the data and used it as one of the elements in calculating rice production. In order to obtain the characteristics of rice production and mapping the area of rice harvested land in ten provinces of the Indonesian island of Sumatra in 2022 using the biplot analysis method. From the results of the study, it was found that areas with similar characteristics of harvested land area, productivity in ten provinces on the island of Sumatra were relatively varied and production with land area had a fairly high positive correlation

Abstract

This study intended to know the effect of the Concept Attainment Model on the students in the mathematical generalization ability and Van Hiele's geometry thinking ability. This study used a quasi-experimental method. The population included all students of SMPN 16, Bengkulu, in the academic year 2020/2021. The sample consisted of two classes selected using purposive sampling techniques. Mathematical generalization ability and Van Hiele's geometry thinking ability were measured by a test that has been valid and reliable. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed using the test MANCOVA with a 5% significant level (α = 0.05). The result of the hypothesis test indicated that there was a positive effect of the Concept Attainment Model on mathematical generalization ability and Van Hiele's geometry thinking ability

Abstract

Cultural mathematics is a way of designing mathematics that is meaningful and relatable to cultural communities. Cultural learning is more interesting and fun to learn because of the socio-cultural construction in which mathematics has been embedded in human history and activities. Learning that is oriented towards mathematics and culture is called ethnomathematics. Each area has historical buildings that can be observed by culture. One of the historical places in Tasikmalaya, West Java, is the Great Mosque of Tasikmalaya City. The purpose of this study was to explore the mathematical concepts contained in the Great Mosque of Tasikmalaya City and to find out the development of numeration in the Great Mosque of Tasikmalaya City. This type of research is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection was carried out using observation, interviews, case studies, and documentation. The results of this study are the mathematical concepts contained in the Great Mosque of Tasikmalaya City, namely the concept of flat shape, geometric concept, arithmetic sequence concept, palindrome number concept, geometric reflection transformation concept, and numeration development

Abstract

In its development, Business Statistics has used several types of technology to facilitate the learning process for students, such as statistical software, spreadsheets, calculators, multimedia materials, and data repositories. The calculator includes computer technology with a simple version but allows students to experience an active learning process. Thus, the calculator media was chosen as the main learning media in business statistics courses, including in evaluating student abilities. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of using calculators in Business Statistics courses. The research was conducted using a mix method, namely qualitative (questionnaire) and quantitative (experimental). The results showed that there was an increase in the average value of Simple Linear Regression for groups of students who used statistical applications on calculators compared to groups who did not use calculators. Based on the results of the questionnaire and suggestions, it was found that 87.7% of students considered it easy to understand the Business Statistics application questions, when using the statistical application on a calculator. Suggestions made by students were the availability of guidelines for using statistical calculator applications for practice, and the availability of calculators in the research laboratory that students could use for practice

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of developing BATAR learning media with the RME approach to help improve mathematical understanding skills. This study uses the ADDIE development model. The subjects of this study were students in grades 8F and 8E at Junior High School 2 Magelang. The results showed that BATAR learning media were in the very valid category with a proportion of 95% of the validity of the material and 87.27% of the validity of the media, the media were in the very practical category with a proportion of 91.27%. Then, the media fulfills the effective aspect with an N-Gain value of 0.71. This can be interpreted that the development of BATAR learning media with the RME approach is stated to be valid, practical and effective
