Abstract

The mangrove play an important role in protection of beach from wave, wind and hurricane. The pole of mangrove can protect home, building and agriculture from bad wind or water intrution. Mangrove forest are green belt have already destroyed and exploited illegally. Thus the penetrate of wave can destroyed many home, land inundated the agriculture. The activities were conducted in 5 November 2018 in Senior High School 1 Samatiga. The empowerment activity including the socialization of mangrove forest role to student of SMAN 1 Samatiga. The conducting method with using extension directly. There are working stage to solve the problem including the survey, exploration activity, the socialization and MONEV. The material of the socialization that we deliver such as the introduction of mangrove species Samatiga area and survey activities as well as the exploration of mangrove ecosystem. The aims of this activity is to introduce directly regarding mangrove ecosystem to student.

Abstract

Catfish is a freshwater fish that is widely cultivated by fish farmers in Pasie Pinang Village. Utilization of fish is not yet optimal. Therefore, the purpose of this community service is to optimize the use of catfish through training in processed catfish products into healthy food. The training activities consist of three stages, namely preparation, implementation and evaluation. At the implementation stage, the material provided to participants consisted of ways of handling fish, types of processed catfish products, packaging and labeling, and determining the selling price. Pasie Pinang Village women's group was very enthusiastic in participating in the training activities. The achievements obtained from this activity include participants being able to develop catfish into products with high selling value, being able to process catfish products based on a household scale, being able to produce processed catfish independently, and being able to conduct marketing activities of processed catfish products.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberdayakan masyarakat Kelurahan Kamundu khususnya mereka yang kesehariannya sebagai ibu rumah tangga, untuk dapat mengolah ikan kakap menjadi beberapa produk makanan, sehingga memenuhi kebutuhan protein hewani khususnya bagi anak – anak. Ikan dapat dioleh menjadi beraneka ragam menu makanan baik sebagai lauk maupun sebagai camilan antara lain, bakso, nugget, sosis, kerupuk, abon, dendeng, perkedel dan lain sebagainya. Target yang ingin dicapai dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa adanya tambahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan bagi masyarakat kelurahan Kamundu dalam mengolah ikan khususnya ikan kakap menjadi berbagai jenis makanan. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa motivasi dan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan dalam pengolahan ikan kakap menjadi aneka produk makanan berupa bakso, sosis dan perkedel. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah masyarakat cukup antusias dalam mengikuti seluruh kegiatan ditunjukkan dengan peran serta peserta mengikuti dan mempraktektan seluruh pembuatan produk.

Abstract

According to observation and interview that undertaken in Panga District Aceh Jaya Regency that there are 3 species of sea turtle with coastal line is 9.3. km. The third of such sea turtle including Olive ridley sea turtle(Lepidochelys  olivacea), hawkbill sea turtle (Eremochelys imbricate), leatherback sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea). The target of community that involved in socialization of sea turtle are student  of junior high school. Earlier education to young generation  regarding the important of sea turtle conservation educated-based is the effort for keeping sea turtle in natural with undertook the socialization to young generation in order to grow a caring and loving to sea turtle sustainablity. Coastal community still undertook to hunting sea turtle’s eggs for trading in the traditional market dan restaurants. It is caused by lack of understanding and awareness regarding sea turtle that threaten scarce. In this activity, the researcher will undertake persuasive approaach and solutive in changing a mindset of young generation gradually that inhabit in near nesting site. In this activity including suvey activity prior to socialization that near the nesting site, socialization activity in the SMPN 1 Panga that selected as target school in the socialization of Sea Turtle Conservation, conducting the retelling story games, and conducting hatchlings release programme to the sea with community elements.

Abstract

Sea turtle undertaken a process of egg laying in once that yield almost hundreds eggs. Meanwhile, the eggs can be alive only several eggs. According to IUCN (International Union Conservation of Nature and Natural Reserve) in 1963 stated that such condition that caused a number of population is decreased. The target of community that involved in the technical guidance regarding egg sea turtle relocation namely undergraduate student of fisheries and marine science faculty, University of Teuku Umar. According to survey and interview that coastal community still undertook to hunting sea turtle’s eggs for trading in the traditional market dan restaurants. The priority problem that face in coastal community dinamic especially Panga Pasie area. for instance, eggs hunting that caused economical problem in order to can be survive in life. In other hand, the exploitation action cause reducing sea turtle population drastically in nature. Thus, if nobody care to effort of sea turtle conservation that undertook by stakeholder so, it occured a scarcity of sea turrtle that already enter in redlist IUCN category. It is caused  disturbance of environment and marine biodiversity in balance a marine ecology. The technical guidance including survey of nesting site, sosialization of sea turtle properties, focus group discussion (FGD) and tecnique of sea turtle eggs relocation. Overall activity of community serving that undergo on time and get a supporting from udergraduate student.

Abstract

Conservation is one of the activity that hope to prevent the sea turtle are scarce, to prevent sea turtle utilization for commercial interest such as sold the eggs, flesh, as well as carapaces and become sharing knowledge facility or education for community widely regarding the importance of sea turtle conservation for keeping sea turtle habitat  in Indonesia in order it is not scarce. The target of communities are elementary school student SDN Alue Piet. According to the interview that many student that inhabited in Panga Pasie Coastal area still feel strange with sea turtle. Among of them ever found it in the coastal area on the morning to feel fearness with this creature that appeared strange. Therefore, we conduct the community serving through the socialization of sea turtle introduction with interesting of media  game. The community serving including surveying of elementary school that approach with nesting site, socialization of sea turtle introduction through video sea turtle animation, doing of Quiz,  and undertaken arrangement of sea turtle puzzle picture. Overall activities of community serving undergone on time and obtained supporting from SDN Alue Piet organizer.

Abstract

Natural disaster realize us with the greatness of Allah SWT. However, human being always neglect and did wrongdoing that cause this earth to be labile. Therefore, the role of Dayah that yield santri with adequate knowledge in religion. Santri also prepared with disaster material. Thus, they are able to implemented the disaster mitigation and give preach for disaster casualties that experience trauma and depression. The aim of this activity is to give the socialization includng preach regarding disaster based Holy Qur’an and Hadist. The stage of held including (1) the socialization and preach related disaster, (2) to tell the  positive and negative impact from natural disaster, (3) to form Focus Group Discussion about  disaster organization movement based on islamic sharia for sustainablity and information media. In the socialization of disaster organization movement based on islamic sharia is begun to give preach regarding disaster. Subsequently, we conducted focus group discussion for forming the organization of disaster mujahidin. It is undertake as effort of PKM sustainablity.

Abstract

The seaweed are one of the potency of the marine biodiversity that give value added in pharmacy and cosmetic. The aim of this community empowerment is to increase the understanding and skill regarding the utilization of seaweed from South West Aceh as natural colour of Aceh Noodle. The community empowerment was conducted on July 2019 that located in Jalan Gajah mada Djohan Pahlawan District West Aceh Regency. The stage of activity including taking raw material, try and error in using natural colour from seaweed and socialization and training. The empowerment community that involved the producer partner in order to create a lot of innovations that useful for local community with utilizing the marine resources potency as foodstuff source and medicine.

Abstract

Salt is a chemical compound that is generally derived from sea water, with the chemical name Sodium Chloride (NaCl). Salt can be obtained in three ways, namely through evaporation of seawater by sunlight, rock mining (rock salt mining) and from brine wells (brine). Lampanah Village is one of the Villages located on the coast of Kabuoaten Aceh Besar, with the majority of its residents living as salt farmers. The implementation of the training program for making beauty products made from sea salt was carried out in Lampanah Village, Aceh Besar District. The training method used in the utilization of sea salt consists of 2 stages, namely extracting information about salt and training and direct practice of processing sea-based products into spa salt, salt masks and salt face scrubs. improve the skills of salt farmers in Lampanah Village, Aceh Besar in processing salt into high-value-selling products. These products include salt masks, salt scrubs and spa salts. In addition, it is hoped that these products will become local products typical of Lampanah Village, Aceh Besar.

Abstract

Perairan pulau Simeulue dianugrahi oleh sumberdaya alam yang berlimpah, seperti ikan karang, lobster, teripang dan organisme akuatik lainnya. Organisme akuatik selalu jadi target pemburuan nelayan karena memiliki harga jual yang tinggi terutama teripang. Eksplorasi yang berlebihan membuat populasi teripang di alam menurun dan terancam kelestarianya. Produksi budidaya teripang masih rendah karena benih diperoleh dari alam dan kegiatanya dilakukan secara tradisional. Pengetahuan nelayan juga rendah dalam hal pembiakan teripang. Disisi lain pembiakan teripang secara seksual membutuh fasilitas dan biaya operasional yang tinggi. Solusi yang diberikan adalah pembiakan teripang secara aseksual dengan teknologi fission. Teknologi ini sangat sederhana tanpa perlu fasilitas canggih, mudah di pahami oleh masyarakat dan biaya operasional murah. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi terhadap masyarakat simeulue. Transfer Iptek ini dilakukan kepada nelayan/masyarakat dengan metode sosialisasi pelestarian teripang dan teknik fission. Masyarakat antusias dalam mengikuti sosialisasi dan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan/wawasan baru tentang Teknik fission dan kesadara dalam menjaga kelestarian teripang di alam.
