Abstract

This study aims to analyze the security strategy for the implementation of the 2024 General Election at the Medan Class I State Detention Center, as well as to identify inhibiting factors that affect the smooth running of security. The implemented security strategy includes five dimensions of strategy theory: position, perspective, planning, pattern, and tactics. The results showed that the security strategy was designed with a comprehensive approach through risk mapping, division of surveillance zones, and cross-agency cooperation such as KPU, police, and TNI. However, several inhibiting factors emerged from each dimension, including overcrowding, voter identity verification, suboptimal inter-agency coordination, limited human resources, and challenges in managing the flow of officers and logistics. This study provides recommendations for strengthening inter-agency coordination and optimizing resources to ensure the implementation of the 2024 General Election in Medan Class I Detention Centers runs safely and smoothly. Abstract

This study examines the fulfillment of healthcare rights for prisoners with tuberculosis (TB) in the Class IIB Menggala Detention Center. The background highlights the critical need for adequate healthcare services for inmates, especially those suffering from communicable diseases like TB, which poses significant health risks. The objective is to assess the current state of healthcare provision and identify barriers to effective treatment. Using qualitative research methods, data were collected through observations and discussions to evaluate the available facilities, resources, and the effectiveness of healthcare management. The findings reveal that the detention center's healthcare services are suboptimal, characterized by insufficient medical facilities, limited medication availability, and inadequate human resources. These deficiencies hinder the provision of adequate care for TB-infected inmates, underscoring the necessity for government intervention to enhance healthcare services. The study concludes that a comprehensive approach is essential to uphold the health rights of prisoners. Keywords: Healthcare Rights; Tuberculosis; Prisoners

Abstract

This study focuses on the influence of self-disclosure on the resilience of drug offenders in Class IIB Prabumulih Prison. Self-disclosure, defined as the process of sharing personal information and feelings with others, plays a crucial role in helping inmates adapt to the challenging prison environment. By openly communicating their thoughts and experiences, inmates can foster supportive relationships with peers and prison staff, which can significantly impact their resilience. Resilience, in this context, refers to the ability of individuals to endure and recover from stressors and difficult situations, such as the experience of incarceration. It encompasses various dimensions, including emotional strength, adaptability, and social support. This research employs a quantitative methodology, utilizing questionnaires to collect data from inmates regarding their levels of self-disclosure and resilience. The findings reveal a positive relationship between these two variables, suggesting that higher levels of self-disclosure are associated with greater resilience among inmates. This research contributes to the understanding of psychological dynamics within correctional facilities and underscores the importance of fostering communication among inmates as a means to enhance their resilience. Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of the therapeutic alliance in counseling for juvenile offenders involved in sexual violence at Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Class II Sungai Raya. The focus of this research is to understand how the therapeutic alliance can encourage openness among juvenile offenders, identify psychological barriers affecting their engagement in counseling, and assess its impact on the effectiveness of the rehabilitation program. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations with four juvenile offenders and counselors involved in the counseling program at LPKA. The results show that a strong therapeutic alliance, built through emotional bonding, goal agreement, and collaboration in counseling tasks, plays a significant role in increasing the engagement of juvenile offenders in the counseling process.
