Abstract

Perceptions of justice can be a key determinant of organizational commitment at Class IIA Palu Prison, which in turn affects the overall performance and effectiveness of correctional facilities in achieving their organizational goals. The objective of this research is to determine the influence of organizational justice on the organizational commitment of employees of Class IIA Palu Prison. The research was conducted at the Class IIA Palu Prison, with the population consisting of all employees. A total sample of 104 respondents was selected using the saturated sampling method. The researcher employed a quantitative method, using a questionnaire as the research instrument with a 5-point Likert scale. The analytical methods used included descriptive analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The results showed that organizational justice positively influences organizational commitment. The relationship between the variables is strongly positive, and the coefficient of determination indicates that the organizational justice variable explains 72.2% of the organizational commitment variable. It is hoped that the results of this study can serve as a reference and consideration for correctional leaders and employees in Indonesia. Abstract

This study was written to identify the types of restorative justice and to determine whether this approach can be applied in Indonesia. This research utilizes the literature review method. The literature review has several characteristics. First, this research deals directly with textual and numerical data, not with events or witnesses in the form of incidents, people, or other objects. Second, the data has already been compiled, so the researcher only needs to work directly with the sources available in the library. Third, library data is generally a secondary data source. Restorative justice is a judicial process that prioritizes compensation for losses caused by criminal acts. There are various types of restorative justice practices. The suitable restorative justice approach for use in Indonesia is victim-offender mediation, which has been implemented in the juvenile criminal justice system as regulated by Law No. 11 of 2012. The implementation of restorative justice in Indonesia requires public awareness and understanding. This approach is suitable for Indonesia, specifically through victim-offender mediation, which has been carried out in the juvenile criminal justice system as stipulated in Law No. 11 of 2012. In the future, restorative justice in Indonesia can be applied to criminal acts with a penalty of no more than 5 years, offenses that do not endanger human life, and crimes that do not degrade human dignity. Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of self-compassion on loneliness in female prisoners at the Medan Class IIA Women's Correctional Institution. In a correctional environment, female inmates often face social and psychological challenges that can exacerbate feelings of isolation and loneliness. Self-compassion, which includes an attitude of self-love and acceptance of one's shortcomings, as well as coping with pain without self-judgement, is expected to help reduce loneliness in inmates. This study used the regression analysis method to examine the relationship between self-compassion and loneliness, the results showed that self-compassion has a significant influence on reducing loneliness levels, with a variance explained of 5.8%. The findings indicate that increasing self-compassion in female prisoners can help them cope better with the challenges of prison, make them more productive, and make them better able to manage emotional distress. This study recommends that prison programmes integrate self-compassion approaches, such as mindfulness training and psychological support, to support the rehabilitation process and improve the mental well-being of female prisoners. This effort is expected to help them face their time in prison more positively and resiliently. Keywords: Self Compassion; Loneliness; Woman Prisoners

Abstract

Cosmetic products have become an essential part of Indonesian women's routines. However, the recent use of cosmetics has a low environmental impact. The research uses the non-probability sampling method with the purposive sampling technique. Sampling was distributing questionnaires to 246 respondents who are consumers of eco-friendly cosmetic products. Hypothesis testing was performed using structural equation modeling with the support of AMOS24 software. These findings underline the important role of brand equity, which is influenced by social media usage, brand awareness, and brand image. And then have a significant influence on purchase intentions, especially in the eco-friendly cosmetic industry. However, this study has not explored the effectiveness of various platforms, interaction frequencies, and specific content types. To strengthen brand equity and influence purchase intention, further research suggests exploring this and adding other variables, such as product innovation, customer relationships, and brand value. Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Inmate Screening Placement Instrument (ISPN) at Bekasi Class IIA Correctional Institution. Using qualitative methods, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings highlight that ISPN is a vital tool for assessing inmate risk and determining proper placement based on criteria such as sentence length, remaining sentence, and type of offense. Despite its significant role, challenges such as overcrowding and limited resources hinder its full implementation. Effective communication between officers and inmates positively influences the screening process. However, time constraints often limit the depth of interaction, potentially impacting data accuracy. The study underscores the importance of resource availability, professional officer attitudes, and a well-structured organizational framework in ensuring successful ISPN implementation. Overcrowding and a lack of sufficient staff are major barriers, emphasizing the need for additional training and improved facilities. ISPN positively impacts inmate rehabilitation and security within the institution by minimizing conflicts and enhancing cooperation among inmates. However, consistent evaluation and strategic improvements are essential to optimize its implementation. Addressing existing challenges will enable ISPN to function more effectively as a tool for inmate rehabilitation and reintegration. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of independence through the garment factory program at the Makassar Class 1 correctional institution in preparing prisoners to live in society. This program aims to provide work skills to prisoners so that they have sufficient economic provisions and are able to integrate with the community after serving their sentences. Garment factory independence coaching is considered a solution in reducing recidivism rates, because through the sewing skills obtained, prisoners can earn income both while in prison and after release. In this research, the method used is a qualitative approach with interview and observation techniques to relevant sources, such as program participants, prison officers, and third parties who cooperate in coaching. The results show that this independence coaching program has had a positive impact on prisoners, such as increased skills, competitive income, and readiness to live independently in the community. However, there are still a number of obstacles, such as limited raw materials and labor regeneration when prisoners are released. Therefore, improvements in management and broader support are needed to ensure the sustainability of this program. Abstract

The abstract provided discusses a study focused on the implementation of the Plastic Injection Molding industry at Lapas Kelas IIA Cikarang, which serves as a structured program designed to improve the life skills of inmates. By offering both technical training and direct work opportunities within the industrial sector, the initiative seeks to rehabilitate inmates by equipping them with practical, employable skills that they can apply after completing their sentences. This aligns with the broader goals of reintegration and reducing recidivism by providing inmates with tangible competencies that increase their chances of securing employment and reintegrating successfully into society. The study employs a qualitative research method, incorporating data gathered through in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, such as inmates, prison staff, and industry partners, alongside direct field observations of the program's operations. The findings of the research indicate that the program has been largely successful in imparting valuable technical skills to the inmates involved. However, the study also highlights several ongoing challenges, particularly in terms of limited equipment availability, which restricts the number of participants, and varying levels of inmate engagement, where some inmates are less motivated to fully commit to the program. Despite these challenges, the initiative has proven to play a vital role in the overall rehabilitation process, contributing significantly to the inmates' readiness for reintegration. The program not only provides them with the technical know-how needed for future employment in industries such as plastics manufacturing but also fosters a sense of responsibility, discipline, and teamwork. Overall, the Plastic Injection Molding program at Lapas Kelas IIA Cikarang demonstrates its potential to support both the personal development of inmates and the broader goals of correctional rehabilitation. Abstract

Prisoner conflicts have become a serious issue often caused by overcrowding, group competition, and inadequate facilities and management in correctional facilities. These factors create tensions that lead to physical violence, negatively impacting prisoners, officers, and overall security. Violent conflicts also worsen the rehabilitation conditions of prisoners, hinder training programs, and increase the risk of disturbances. Limited space, scarce resources, and competition for facilities such as access to clean water and healthcare services further exacerbate the situation. Prisoners with different backgrounds and interests often clash, leading to an increase in violent incidents such as beatings and stabbings. To address this issue, the research adopts the mediation theory proposed by Christopher Moore. Mediation is conducted by encouraging effective communication, interest-based approaches, and collaboration among the conflicting parties. In the context of prisons, mediation plays a crucial role in reconciling prisoners involved in conflict before the situation escalates into greater violence. Correctional officers are also encouraged to carry out more intensive supervision and improve their skills in handling high-risk situations. The research findings are expected to provide recommendations for prison administrators in formulating more effective policies to prevent violent conflicts. With the application of mediation theory and adequate preventive measures, it is hoped that conflicts can be minimized, creating a safer and more conducive prison environment for the rehabilitation process. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of independent variables such as herding bias, overconfidence, anchoring, loss aversion, and religiosity on investment decisions moderated by risk tolerance for investors in Batam City. People who are stock investors in Batam City are the research subjects, with the sampling technique used being snowball sampling. The results showed that factors such as herding bias, overconfidence, anchoring, loss aversion, and religiosity have a significant influence on investment decisions. It is different for the risk tolerance variable, which is not proven to have a significant role in moderating the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable, investment decisions. This study also has limitations in terms of samples that may not be able to represent all people who invest in Batam City. Therefore, it is recommended for future research to conduct further research with a more representative sample of the population investing in Batam City.
