Abstract

Hospital, as a healthcare provider, consists of various interrelated service units. Pharmaceutical services for outpatient, inpatient, and operating room are provided by the pharmacy units and they need good operational management to maintain the speed of service. However, with the increasing number of patients, there has been a drastic decline in pharmacy service speed, leading to a rise in patient complaints and a decrease in patient satisfaction index, which, if unaddressed, may result in patient loss. This study measured the impact of changes in room layout, workflow improvements, pharmacy unit manpower productivity, and alteration of drug packaging on complaint numbers and satisfaction index of the patients at Primaya Hospital Semarang. A Likert scale questionnaire was to assess patient satisfaction and record complaints received via WhatsApp, Google Reviews, email, Instagram, or directly to the customer service unit. The measurements were taken before the intervention and after implementation of the changes. The implementation of these four operational interventions decreased significantly the complaint numbers over time accompanied by an increase in patient satisfaction index.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of job stress and workplace loneliness on job satisfaction and psychological well-being among Account Representatives in Indonesian Tax Service Offices. A quantitative cross-sectional approach was employed, collecting data from 125 respondents using a Likert-scale-based questionnaire. The analysis utilized Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the relationships between variables. The findings indicate that job stress does not significantly influence job satisfaction or psychological well-being, suggesting that contextual factors, such as organizational support or employee adaptability, may mitigate its effects. Conversely, workplace loneliness has a significant negative impact on both job satisfaction and psychological well-being, highlighting the importance of fostering social connections in the workplace. Moreover, job satisfaction is found to positively and significantly influence psychological well-being.These results underscore the need for organizations to create inclusive and supportive environments that reduce workplace loneliness, enhance job satisfaction, and promote psychological well-being. This study contributes to the literature by offering insights into these dynamics within the unique context of Indonesian government organizations. Limitations include the cross-sectional design and the focus on a specific population, suggesting future research explore mediating and moderating factors or adopt longitudinal approaches.

Abstract

This study analyzes the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and their determinants in 25 Asian countries from 2015 to 2021. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a greenhouse gas produced by human activities, such as fossil fuel combustion. The study utilizes secondary data and employs two analytical tools: the concentration index, which identifies countries with the highest CO2 emissions, and panel data regression to analyze its determinants. The findings reveal that 13 out of 25 countries have a concentration index greater than one, with Japan, Russia, and Azerbaijan ranking as the top three countries with the highest CO2 emission concentrations, while Vietnam has the lowest concentration index, with a value of less than one. The variables of oil consumption, natural gas consumption, coal consumption, and population size have a positive and significant effect on CO2 emissions in the 25 Asian countries. On the other hand, economic growth does not have a significant impact on CO2 emissions. These findings highlight the urgency of implementing energy transition policies in high-emission countries as a strategic measure to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Furthermore, the development of population-based policies oriented toward sustainability is deemed crucial to effectively reducing carbon emissions across the Asian region.
