Abstract

Over the past few decades, Surabaya has maintained a reputation as a city with a high level of safety. The capital of East Java Province is devoid of any socio-political upheaval. During the 2000s, some major cities, including Jakarta and Bali, saw a wave of terrorism. However, it is noteworthy that the city under consideration, often called the "city of heroes," did not see comparable tragedies during this period. In the year 2018, Surabaya encountered a terrorist occurrence. The phenomena of radicalism and terrorism are intricate and multifaceted, necessitating the involvement of multiple stakeholders for their resolution. The Surabaya municipal government emphasizes fostering collaboration among various stakeholders to ensure stability. Nevertheless, the provincial capital of Jawa Timur continues to experience many occurrences, such as the recent surge in terrorist apprehensions in Surabaya and the prevailing existence of extremist factions. Evidence suggests the presence of radical movements within the city of Surabaya. The primary objective of this study is to examine the implementation of cross-sectoral collaboration in addressing issues related to radicalism and terrorism within the urban context of Surabaya. This research aims to provide valuable insights for the Surabaya city government and relevant stakeholders regarding the issue of radicalism and terrorism in Surabaya to inform policy decisions. Within the framework of radicalism and terrorism, it is vital to explore how cross-sector collaboration in the urban setting of Surabaya addresses this phenomenon. This study uses the Penthaelix cooperation framework to analyze the dynamics of collaboration among various stakeholders in Surabaya City in their efforts to combat radicalism and terrorism. The researchers successfully identified eight key informants representing each stakeholder cluster. Through conducting research and engaging in interviews, valuable insights were gathered regarding the patterns of cooperation that emerged and the problems encountered.

Abstract

Gubuk Klakah Village as one of the developing tourism villages in Malang Regency still has difficulties in managing and utilizing the BUMDes institution to optimize the increase of BUMDes PAD in Gubuk Klakah Village, namely a) human resource management that is still not optimal because the majority of BUMDes administrators are board members in other village tourism institutions so that there is overlapping in authority and division of tasks and b) there is still an unhealthy tourism organization culture such as distrust between members and financial smuggling for personal interests. Based on this background, the proposing team took three problem formulations, namely a) regarding the status quo of BUMDes management, b) the perception of the government and other institutional members towards BUMDes performance, and c) strategies to improve the performance of BUMDes Shack Klakah. The theories and concepts used in this research are change leadership, social perception theory, and asset-based community development. This research will be conducted in three stages, namely the preparation stage, the field study implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. The results of the discussion regarding Human Assets, Social Assets, Natural and Physical Assets, and Financial Assets, can be concluded that BUMDes Amanah Tourism Business Unit of Gubugklakah Village is reorganizing policies and bylaws. BUMDes Amanah Tourism Business Unit has optimized Natural and Physical Assets by packaging these assets into innovative and creative tour packages to attract tourist visits.

Abstract

Scientific and competency mapping web-based information system aims to address several relevant issues within the context of the Tri Dharma framework in higher education, specifically at UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur. One of the primary issues is how to review and evaluate the implementation of Tri Dharma, especially in the areas of Education and Teaching, Research, Community Service, and publications, in alignment with the parent-subfields of study and competencies mapping in each study program. Therefore, the research proposes to create an innovative solution that can review and evaluate the alignment of implementation of Tri Dharma in higher education. The research developed a database and Role Base Access Control (RBAC) for web-based information system that lecturers can input education and teaching, research, community service activities, and publications based on the available academic fields, while also helping to identify lecturer expertise according to the knowledge mapping in their respective study programs through a visualization dashboard. The development plan for this application begins with the planning phase, including analyze the system's business processes to understand the system needs of users, designing the necessary features, completing master data such as a list of parent field of study and subfield of study for each study program. This is essential for obtaining an initial understanding of the data structure for the database design. After the database design has been completed, the next step is to implement the database design into an actual database structure using MySQL and then proceed with the development of the web-based application. The system was designed to generate curriculum vitae and visualization in the spider chart to make it easier for the user to understand their scientific and competencies.

Abstract

This community engagement initiative aims to assess the extent of the understanding among the academic community of Sekolah Pelayaran Bhakti Samudera regarding the reporting of Article 21 personal income tax (PPh 21). The level of understanding was gauged through the distribution of a questionnaire, which included inquiries about the registration of taxpayers within the Sekolah Pelayaran Bhakti Samudera environment and participants' comprehension of taxation and their tax obligations. The taxpayer registration process will assist the community engagement team in developing materials for socialization and assistance in filing individual income tax returns (SPT PPh Orang Pribadi) to be conducted in the future. Based on the questionnaire, data were obtained from 26 participants, with 61.5% of them having a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP), while the rest did not possess an NPWP. This aligns with the condition of the academic community in the school, which typically earns income below the Non-Taxable Income Threshold (PTKP). Regarding the understanding of tax reporting, the academic community at Sekolah Pelayaran Bhakti Samudera still lacks a solid grasp of the subject. A total of 20 respondents out of 26 participants exhibited a low level of understanding of tax reporting. Consequently, many members of the academic community remain unfamiliar with the tax reporting obligations of individual taxpayers with NPWP. This situation is further supported by the school's practice of not providing PPh 21 withholding tax slip due to the academic community's income falling below the PTKP threshold.

Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to critically evaluate recent research on strategic management (SM) in pandemic situations and to suggest potential future possibilities for SM research in the hospitality and tourist (HT) sector. The current state of SM research in the HT field was examined critically in this study, along with potential future prospects. SM research with an HT focus still has a weak social structure. The field's scientific development has slowed down because there aren't many top researchers in it. Finally, researchers in the HT field should publish their findings in prestigious academic publications that cover both the HT and mainstream fields. This study uses VOSviewer to display how bibliometric analysis of multiple older articles was used to define strategic management in the hospitality and tourist industry. The results indicate that strategic management research in the hospitality and tourist sectors has advanced during the course of the study; nonetheless, there is still a gap between the two sectors' strategic management research.
