Abstract

Contextual performance is of paramount importance within organizational settings, thereby necessitating a heightened focus on its manifestation. Therefore, this research aims to determine the influence of ethical leadership on contextual performance with good corporate governance (GCG) mediation. The sample comprised 325 employees engaged in the consumer goods, finance, trade, services, and investment sectors in Indonesia. The method of data collection employed a questionnaire utilizing a Likert scale. The analytical approach utilized structural equation modeling grounded in Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS), complemented by descriptive and correlational analyses. The findings of the research indicate that ethical leadership exerts a direct influence on both GCG and contextual performance, that GCG directly affects contextual performance, and that ethical leadership indirectly impacts contextual performance via GCG. This evidence substantiates a novel empirical framework concerning the effect of ethical leadership on employee contextual performance via GCG. This framework is posited to serve as a basis for stimulating discourse among scholars and researchers, while also acknowledging the existing limitations.

Abstract

The popular trend in the global beauty industry has reshaped consumer consumption patterns, including in Indonesia. However, the unsustainable consumption of cosmetic products poses risks to environmental and social sustainability. With the phenomenal growth of the rapidly expanding cosmetic industry, the consumption of cosmetic products has also increased significantly. Unfortunately, this increase has negative environmental impacts and can harm consumer health. This is due to waste from raw materials used in production, product packaging, and chemicals that may pose health risks to consumers. Alternatively, green products have been widely developed and are available in the market. This study aims to examine the factors influencing the purchase intention of natural and eco-friendly cosmetic products among Indonesian consumers. To establish a hypothesis framework, 161 valid questionnaires were collected through purposive sampling in several cities in Indonesia. Data analysis and hypothesis testing were conducted using SmartPLS statistical software. The study results indicate that Indonesian consumers’ purchase intentions for natural and eco-friendly cosmetic products tend to be positively influenced by consumers’ attitudes toward environmental concern, health consciousness, and perceived behavioral control. Additionally, purchase intention positively impacts behavioral intention. These findings provide insights into Indonesian consumers' habits and awareness in choosing natural and eco-friendly cosmetic products.

Abstract

The culinary business is a crisis-resistant business because food is a basic human need. With the growth of the culinary business, Kopontren Musa’adah owned by Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Sukorejo seized this opportunity by opening a culinary venture named Dapur Cita Rasa Berkah. To increase consumer loyalty, Dapur CRB uses the 7P marketing mix strategy, including product, price, place, promotion, people, process, and physical evidence. Using a qualitative descriptive research method, this study found that Dapur CRB utilizes members of Kopontren Musa’adah for promotions, offers a varied menu selection, is located in a densely populated residential area with an attractive layout for dining, relaxing, and meetings, provides Cash On Delivery (COD) service, and despite having many close competitors, conducts price comparisons directly in the field. They also offer packaging options tailored to the price for take-away purchases, and all tasks are carried out by 10 employees. The challenge faced is that the number of employees at Dapur Cita Rasa Berkah is only 10 people, divided into 2 work shifts, which is not proportional to the orders received, and the lack of understanding among employees regarding marketing strategies.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of gold and Bitcoin as hedging instruments against the rising costs of education and food inflation in Indonesia. Using data from 2009 to 2024, the research employs descriptive and correlational quantitative methods, incorporating volatility analysis and hedging effectiveness models such as the Sharpe ratio and Value-at-Risk. Gold demonstrates stability and consistent performance as a hedge against inflation in education costs, while Bitcoin, despite its volatility, shows potential as a speculative alternative. Food price increases are shown to significantly impact education costs, and this study highlights the need for effective investment strategies to counteract these economic challenges. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of gold and Bitcoin's roles in mitigating specific forms of inflation, particularly in critical sectors like education and food.
