Abstract

Mindful learning is a learning approach that emphasizes full presence and active awareness at every stage of the learning process. This approach does not focus solely on academic achievement but also plays an important role in enhancing the psychological well-being of both students and teachers. This study aims to examine mindful learning as an effective strategy for supporting psychological well-being in educational settings. This research employed a literature review method using a thematic analysis approach of fifteen key sources, including national and international journal articles as well as educational policy documents related to deep learning. The findings indicate that mindful learning strengthens executive functions, enhances self-control, supports emotional regulation, and fosters students’ intrinsic motivation and academic resilience. For teachers, its implementation contributes to stress reduction, increased empathy, and the creation of a positive and supportive classroom climate. Mindful learning is also aligned with the principles of deep learning in the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasize meaning, awareness, and holistic student development. This approach serves as an essential foundation for creating an educational ecosystem that balances academic achievement with psychological well-being. Thus, mindful learning is not merely a pedagogical method but a foundational framework for building a healthy, reflective, and student-centered learning environment. The implications of this review highlight the need for continuous teacher training, the integration of mindfulness into the curriculum, and the strengthening of reflective practices in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the regional assessment-based student admission strategy in Yogyakarta City, addressing the issues of unequal selection tools and unequal school distribution. The use of report card scores as a selection tool often does not consistently reflect student abilities across schools, while uneven distance zoning due to existing city design since the colonial era worsens the distribution of educational access. Some areas in Yogyakarta even become "blank spots" without public schools, adding to the challenges in educational equity. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review to explore the implementation of the Regional Education Standardization Assessment (ASPD) as a solution to create a more standardized and equitable selection tool. The ASPD is expected to address zoning inequality and provide more equal opportunities for prospective students, both from within and outside the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The implementation of this regional-based assessment also aims to maintain the quality of education in Yogyakarta, known as the city of education, so that it remains competitive at the national and international levels. The results show that with the implementation of ASPD, the selection process for new student admissions can be more objective and relevant to local conditions, while reducing the gap in educational quality. Thus, this regional assessment-based admission strategy is an important step to maintain the quality of education in Yogyakarta City.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the challenges and strategies in managing inclusive education for children with special needs in primary Islamic schools through a thematic literature review. Using a thematic synthesis approach, this study systematically reviewed and analyzed relevant national and international peer-reviewed literature focusing on inclusive education, school management, and Islamic education contexts. The analysis identified five interrelated themes: teacher capacity and pedagogical readiness, institutional readiness and school management, curriculum and instructional adaptation, resource availability and support systems, and values-based and collaborative strategies. The findings indicate that challenges in inclusive education are systemic rather than isolated, requiring coordinated management responses rather than fragmented interventions. Importantly, the review highlights those Islamic values such as justice (‘adl), compassion (rahmah), and collective responsibility serve as ethical foundations that can strengthen leadership commitment and sustain inclusive practices. Based on these findings, this study proposes a Holistic Management Framework for Inclusive Education in Primary Islamic Schools, which integrates pedagogical, institutional, managerial, and ethical dimensions. The study contributes to inclusive education literature by offering a contextually grounded framework that supports the effective and sustainable management of inclusive education in faith-based primary schooling.

Abstract

The development of modern life, marked by rapid technological advances, cultural globalization, and the dominance of materialism and hedonism, has given rise to various spiritual and moral issues in human life. These conditions have implications for the weakening of faith orientation, moral degradation, and the rise of individualism and pragmatism. This article aims to analyze the urgency of the concept of uzlah in facing the realities of modern life and its relevance in the context of Islamic Religious Education. This research uses a qualitative approach with library research methods, through a literature review of classical Sufism books, scientific articles, and relevant previous research results. Data analysis techniques are carried out descriptively and analytically to explore the meaning, values, and implementation of uzlah contextually. The results of the study indicate that uzlah is not interpreted as total isolation from social life, but rather as an effort to control oneself, guard the heart, selectivity in social interactions, and strengthen spiritual awareness in the midst of modern life. In the context of Islamic Religious Education, uzlah has strategic implications as a foundation for spiritual development and strengthening the morals of students so that they are able to face the challenges of the times without losing their Islamic identity. Thus, uzlah remains relevant as a spiritual and educational approach to addressing the moral and spiritual crises of modern society.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the involvement of school committees in managing the quality of education in schools. This research approach is descriptive qualitative. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with school committee administrators. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively using the interactive data analysis model from Miles and Huberman. Research findings show that the role of school committees in managing the quality of education in schools is realized in 4 roles, namely the role of the advisor (advisory agency) which is always actively involved from the start, as well as supervision related to planning to provide various considerations regarding learning programs, budgets, employee criteria and facilities. through meetings or conferences with the school, supporting agencies help the school find other sources of funding if needed and are voluntary. Especially in raising school funds, the school committee helps proactively by entrusting sales in the canteen with profits earmarked for the needs of students in need, finding donors and providing non-obligatory contributions for parents of students to extend financial support to the school. the role of the controller (controlling agency) plays the role of the school committee carrying out periodic evaluations and comprehensive reporting of the entire school program including its funding., and the final role of the committee mediator is always active in meetings to hear and receive input information and reports from student parents, bridging communication between various parties involved in the school environment.

Abstract

This study was conducted to improve the analytical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SD GMIT 7 Oebufu in Kupang City through the implementation of inquiry-based E-LKPD designed using the Wizer.Me platform. The study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental pre-test post-test design. The research subjects were 26 fifth-grade students in the experimental class and 27 fifth-grade students in the control class, who received different treatments. The experimental class used a different learning approach than the control class, which employed conventional inquiry-based worksheets. The instruments used Bloom's taxonomy indicators to assess students' analytical thinking skills through pre-tests and post-tests. Meanwhile, an observation sheet was used to monitor the learning process during the inquiry stages. The analysis results showed that in the experimental class, the average analytical thinking ability score increased from 56.25 to 81.7, while in the control class, it increased from 56.18 to 75.46. Additionally, the N-Gain test showed moderate effectiveness in both classes, but the experimental class achieved a higher percentage increase, 52.18%, compared to 39.63% in the control class. Although there was no significant difference in the results of the independent sample t-test (p = 0.124), the data still showed that the use of inquiry-based E-LKPD yielded higher results in improving analytical thinking skills. Thus, the implementation of inquiry-based E-LKPD through Wizer.Me is considered an effective and relevant learning strategy in meeting the demands of the 21st century.
