Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principals’ leadership styles and work environment on the performance of public elementary school teachers in Majalaya District, Karawang Regency, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method and multiple linear regression analysis. The sample consisted of 92 teachers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Descriptive analysis showed that the principal’s leadership style and teacher performance were rated as "very good," while the work environment was categorized as "good." Simultaneous regression analysis revealed that both independent variables significantly influenced teacher performance, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.691, indicating that 69.1% of the variance in teacher performance could be explained by leadership style and work environment. Partially, the work environment had the most dominant influence. These findings reinforce theories of organizational behavior and human resource management, emphasizing the importance of effective leadership and a supportive work environment in enhancing professional teacher performance. This study contributes both theoretically and practically to the development of adaptive, transformative, and contextual educational management strategies at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Project Citizen is a learning model that theoretically has the potential to influence the critical thinking and communication skills of elementary school students in Pancasila Education learning. The purpose of the study was to determine if there was an effect of the model Project Citizen on students' critical thinking and communication skills.mThis research used a quasi-experimental design with the population of all grade IV students of Kapanewon Tanjungsari Cluster III Elementary School. The subject in the study was Mentel II Elementary School as an experimental class, which was a class that received learning treatment using the model Project Citizen, and Mentel I Elementary School as a control class using the Direct Learning model. The instruments used to collect data were in the form of critical thinking ability test questions, communication ability test questions, questionnaires, and observation sheets. The results of the study show that: 1) the hypothesis test of students' critical thinking ability using the independent t-test obtain a significance value (2-Tailed) 0.026 < 0.05 so that it can be concluded that there is an effect of the model Project Citizen on the critical thinking ability of elementary school students; 2) the hypothesis test of students' communication ability using the test independent t-test obtain a significance value (2-Tailed) 0.000 < 0.05 so that it can be concluded that there is an effect of the model Project Citizen to the communication skills of elementary school students; and 3) the MANOVA test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 so that it can be concluded that there is an effect of the learning model Project Citizen to students' critical thinking and communication skills simultaneously.

Abstract

This research focuses on efforts to improve interest and reading skills in Indonesian. The strategies implemented use the KWL (Know–Want to Know–Learned) and LRD (Listen–Read–Discuss) techniques. This type of research is in the form of Classroom Action Research using the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model. This research was conducted at SD “Mawar” Surabaya with 23 sixth-grade students, the research was conducted from April 2025 to May 2025. The research activities were carried out through two cycles, each consisting of four meetings. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, pre-tests and post-tests, as well as documentation of the learning process. The research instruments include a Lesson Implementation Plan, questionnaires, interest and skills observation sheets, and photo documentation. The research results show that students become more focused during the learning process, demonstrate active involvement in discussions, and have a better understanding of the reading material presented. The KWL technique specifically helps students develop critical thinking skills and fosters the habit of reflecting on the content of the text they have read. The LRD technique provides space for students to collaborate and exchange insights in understanding the reading material. The combination of these two strategies creates a reading learning environment that is not only enjoyable but also meaningful and oriented towards deep understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive learning media based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) using Articulate Storyline to enhance students’ learning outcomes and creativity in the UI/UX Graphic Design subject using Figma at Islamic boarding school–based vocational schools. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes systematic stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Validation by material and media experts indicated high validity, confirming that the developed media met the standards of content feasibility, visual design, navigation, and pedagogical effectiveness. The trial was conducted in three vocational schools over two learning cycles involving 169 students. The results revealed a significant improvement in learning achievement, with an average N-Gain score of 0.69 (moderate–high category). Moreover, 82.84% of students were categorized as creative and highly creative, based on fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration aspects. These findings confirm that integrating interactive digital media with a project-based approach effectively enhances students’ competencies, creativity, and mastery of digital design skills in vocational learning contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the classroom management skills of first grade teachers at SD Lentera Harapan Tolikara through the implementation of the GROW ME coaching model (Goal, Reality, Options, Will, Monitoring, Evaluation). Classroom management is a key element in creating a conducive and effective learning environment. The GROW ME coaching model is applied to help teachers design and achieve more effective goals in classroom management. This research uses the Action Research method with a cyclical approach consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation stages. The subjects of the study consist of two first-grade teachers who actively participated in the coaching process. The results show a significant improvement in the classroom management skills of both teachers. In the first cycle, classroom management scores increased by 43% and 48%, and in the second cycle, they rose to 52% and 69%, exceeding the success target set at a minimum of 40%. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the GROW ME coaching model is effective in improving teachers' classroom management skills, leading to a more effective and conducive learning atmosphere. It is hoped that the school will continue the implementation of the GROW ME coaching model to support the professional development of teachers.

Abstract

The rapid development of the beauty industry requires vocational education institutions, particularly Beauty Vocational High Schools, to produce graduates who are not only technically skilled but also adaptable to the dynamics of the job market. However, many vocational school graduates are considered unprepared for work, raising questions about the relevance of the curriculum, teacher competence, and alignment with industry needs. This study aims to evaluate the curriculum standards of Beauty Vocational High Schools in Malang Raya, assess teachers' professional competencies, and explore industry expectations for vocational graduates. The results indicate that the curriculum remains focused on basic techniques and has not incorporated modern makeup trends, small business management, and the use of digital media. Teachers' competencies are also suboptimal due to limited industry training, resulting in teaching methods that are conventional and lack contextual relevance. The industry expects graduates who are ready to work, communicative, and able to promote services independently. The gap between school learning and field practice underscores the need for closer collaboration between schools and the workplace. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of curriculum updates, enhancing teacher capacity through industry training, and strengthening Teaching Factories to improve graduate competitiveness.

Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive teaching materials based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) that can support the application of differentiated learning in Phase B students. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) development model. Validation was carried out on three main components, namely teaching materials, learning outcome instruments, and teacher and student response questionnaires. The validation results showed that the teaching materials obtained an average score of 3.7 and were declared very valid, both in terms of content, display, and language use. The learning outcome instruments validated from the aspects of questions, construction, language, and time allocation also obtained an average of 3.7. The teacher and student response questionnaires achieved an average of 3.8 and 3.9, respectively, which indicates high feasibility in exploring user perceptions. The limited trial showed a positive response from all teachers and students (100%). These findings show that AI-based interactive teaching materials are feasible and have the potential to be an effective and responsive learning tool to student needs in the context of differentiated learning.

Abstract

The Teacher's ability to create a good learning environment greatly affects how well students learn and the kind of people they become. How much students learn depends a lot on their desire to learn. This desire has a big impact on how effective their learning is. This study looked at how using the PBL learning model affects the motivation to learn social studies among fifth-grade students in Gugus II Panjatan. It also checked how the PBL model affects their social studies learning results and how it influences both their motivation and learning outcomes. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest, and included two groups that weren't exactly the same. The experiment took place in two fifth-grade classes at SDN Depok. One class used the PBL model, and the other used the Direct Instruction model. Information was collected through observations, questionnaires about learning motivation, and tests on learning outcomes. The data was analyzed using t-tests and ANOVA. The results showed that students in the PBL class had an average motivation score of 61.69, while those in the DI class had 57.95. The PBL class also had an average learning score of 76.25 compared to 65.50 for the DI class. These results show that using the PBL model has a very strong effect on both the motivation and learning results of fifth-grade students in Gugus II Panjatan.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika di SD masih belum kontekstual sehingga hasil belajar matematika belum mencapai kategori cakap. Hal ini menjadi salah satu sebab hasil belajar peserta didik perlu ditingkatkan. Riset ini ditujukan untuk mengkaji keefektifan penggunaan media pembelajaran canva berbasis etnomatematika pada proses belajar matematika kelas IV SD. Metode deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif digunakan dalam melaporkan hasil penelitian ini. Subjek data dari penelitian ini berasal dari 10 peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri Sidoharjo. Pemerolehan data aktivitas peserta didik dilakukan melalui observasi saat pembelajaran dan tes digunakan untuk mengukur keberhasilan kognitif. Teknik kuantitatif dan kualitatif dipilih untuk menganalisis data. Merujuk data hasil penelitian, dampak keberhasilan peserta didik meningkat dengan penggunaan media pembelajaran canva berbasis etnomatematika. Peningkatan hasil pembelajaran matematika materi dekomposisi dan komposisi bangun datar mengalami peningkatan sebesar 29 % dari hasil belajar sebelumnya. Pada saat tes awal tingkat ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran peserta didik yaitu 48%, setelah mengalami perlakuan menjadi 77 %. Pemerolehan data ini dilihat dengan membandingkan pelaksanaan tes sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru sesudah inovasi dilakukan. Melalui hasil analisis SPSS 26 juga diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa hasil belajar pre test berbeda dengan post test, yang menandakan hasil belajar meningkat. Peningkatan motivasi belajar dalam pembelajaran terlihat dari keaktifan peserta didik dan antusias mereka untuk menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil ini membuktikan penggunaan media pembelajaran canva berbasis etnomatematika dapat membuat motivasi dan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik sekolah dasar meningkat.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the function of speech actions and their delivery strategies in class VI Indonesian textbooks, with an emphasis on directive speech actions. The focus of this research is based on the importance of the role of speech actions in language learning, especially in helping students understand the context of polite, effective, and communicative language use. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with a content analysis method. Data was obtained from the book Children Changing the World published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2022 as the main source, and is complemented by supporting data from grade VI students of SD Negeri 06 Ngringo. Analysis is carried out through the stages of identification, classification, and interpretation of the forms, functions, and strategies of speech actions found in the text. The results of the study show that in the book there are various types of directive speech actions such as commands, requests, invitations, advice, and prohibitions. The delivery strategies used include direct, indirect, and emotionally strengthened strategies. Direct strategies are more commonly used in the context of instructional learning, while indirect and emotional strategies are used to foster politeness and closeness of meaning between the writer and the reader. These findings show that speech acts in Indonesian textbooks not only function as a means of conveying information, but also as a medium for the formation of polite and communicative language characters for elementary school students.
