The objective of this research is to identify whether the use of word game can increase students’ vocabulary. An experimental design is use to collect the data, while quantitative approach is use to analyze them. The research takes by the VIII grade of SMP Negeri3 Ogodeide. It is conduct in one class (VIIIA). The data are obtained through a pre-test and post-test. The researcher used SPSS 16.0 program to analyze the data collection. The pre-test is use to measure the students’ previous in vocabulary, the treatments are applying materials through word game, and the post-test is use to find out the students’ vocabulary ability after given treatments. The results of this research show that word games can effectively increase students’ vocabulary. The improvement can be seen in the form of students’ behavior and students’ score. The students become more active in teaching and learning process. The improvement of students’ score can be seen from the differences between pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pretest is 23.76 and it improves to 75.29 in post. Moreover the Minimum Mastery Criterion of English lesson was 70 (seventy). Then the data of both tests are analyzed by using T-test, and the result showed that the T-test value 24.51 is greater than T-table value 2.131. It can be inferred that word game is very effective to increase students’ ability in vocabulary. From the test result, it shows that there is a significant improvement of students’ vocabulary after the researcher conducts the research. It proves that teaching vocabulary through word game can increase students’ vocabulary. Key words: Increasing, vocabulary, word game.

The objective of this study is to prove that think aloud can improve students’ reading comprehension. The sample of this research is class VIII B of SMP N 3 Tolitoli Utara in 2016/2017 academic year that selected by using purposive sampling technique. The total number of sample is 20 students. Instrument which is used to collect data is test. The data is analyzed by using statistical analysis in order to know the significant difference of the achievement of the students’ in pre-test and post-test..The mean scores of the students’ score in the pre-test is37.60 and mean score in the post-test is68.70. Based on the result of the statistical computation, the result of data analysis shows that there is a significant difference between the result of pre-test and post-test. By applying 0,05 level Of significant the researcher find out that tcounted11.945 is higher than ttable2.093. It implies that there is a significant improvement on students’ reading comprehension. In short, the application of think aloud can improvereading comprehension of the eight grade students of SMP N 3 Tolitoli Utara. Key words: Improving, Reading Comprehension, Think Aloud.

This research belongs to experimental design with pre-test and post-test activity. The objective of the research is to find out how Song can increase the students’ achievment in vocabulary mastery. Sample of the research were 25 students’ of tenth grade of SMK Negeri 1 Galang. In doing this research, the researcher used a media or Song of production. The data analysis of the research was quantitative measurement to find the mean. Based on the data analysis from pre-test and post-test activity. Based on the result, it was found that the use of Song in teaching English is effective to increase the students’ vocabulary mastery and very beneficial for the students in order to facilitate them in learning English. Based on this finding, it is suggested that Song in teaching English can be recommended for the English taecher. but the English teacher should select appropriate Song to the students’. This research is based on the problem of the students were didn’t know the meaning of the word of Eight Grade,because the students lack vocabulary.This Research is aimed to application of word clapping game on teaching vocabulary and furthermore to know the achievement or not after teaching learning through word clapping game.Itconducted the studied used pre-experimental research it’s mean that just focused on one class from the four parallel class and it applied purposive sampling. The instruments of the research is pre-test and post-test. Furthermore the students mean score in post-test 79,18 was increase while mean score pre-test 44,86.The data were analyzed by using SPSS program. The objective of this research is to find out whether the application of picture effective to improve students’ ability in writing descriptive text. It is a pre-experimental research. The study is the first grade of MTs. DDI Kel. Baru Tolitoli. It is conducted class (VII A). The data are obtained through a pre-test and post-test. The writer use SPSS 16.0 program to analyzed the data collection. The result of the analysis show that the application of picture contribute greatly to the students in writing descriptive text. The mean score of pre-test is 65.70 while in the post-test improve up to 79.46. Moreover, the Minimum Mastery Criterion of English lesson is 75 (seventy-five). Then the data of both test are analyzed by using T-test, and the result show that the T-count value is 10.839 greater than T-table value is 2.045. It can be inferred that the application of picture is very effective to improve students’ ability in writing descriptive text. Key words: picture, writing, descriptive text.

The objective of this research is to identify whether the use of pictures is effective to improve students’ skill in writing descriptive text. This pre-experimental study  using 21 students as a sample. They are grade VIIB of MTs DDI Kel.Baru. The procedure of this research consisted of pretest, treatment, and posttest. The researcher give pretest and posttest to know the use of pictures can improve the students’ writing ability or not. The result of the analyse show that using pictures contribute greatly to the students in writing descriptive text. It can be see by the difference of the mean score between pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test is 47.86 while in the post-test improved up to 80.10. The data of this research are analyse by using SPSS Program 16.0 Moreover the Minimum Mastery Criterion of English lesson was 75. Then the data of both tests are analyse by using T-test, and the result showed that the T-test value 15.505 is greater than T-table value 2.086. It can be inferred that use of pictures is very effective to improve students’ ability in writing descriptive text.  Key words: Pictures, Improving, Writing, Descriptive Text.

This research aimed to find out the use of crossword puzzle to Increasing students’ vocabulary. The data were obtained through a pre-test and post-test. The result of this research showed that the X Grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Tolitoli had inadequate score in pre-test with the mean score 56.97. However, after receiving treatments by using Crossword puzzle Method they got high score in post-test: their mean score had increased up to 79.82. The data were analyzed by using t-test and the result showed that the t-test value 19.484 was greater than t-table value 2.037. It meant that there was a significant difference of students’ vocabulary before and after the application of it can be concluded that the use of Crossword puzzle could increase students’ vocabulary. Key words: Increasing vocabulary of crossword puzzle.Â

The objective of the research is to prove whether the use of STAD is effective ornot to improve students’ reading comprehension in narrative text. This pre – experimentalresearch use 27 students as a sample. They are Grade VIIIA of SMP NEGERI 1 Galang. Theprocedure of this research consist of pretest, treatment, and posttest. Pretest and posttest aregiven to know the use of STAD can improve students’ reading comprehension or not. The resultof the analysis data show that STAD contribute greatly to the students’ comprehension innarrative text. It can be seen by the difference of the mean score between pretest and posttest.The mean score of pretest is 57.93 while in the posttest improved up to 80.69. the data of thisresearch are analyzed by SPSS Program 16.0. Moreover, the Minimum Mastery Criterion ofEnglish lesson is 75. Then the data of both tests are analyzed by using T-test, and the resultshowed that the T-test value 41.062 is high than T-table value 2.056. The objective of this research is to find out whether kwl strategy can improve students’ reading comprehension or not.. This research is pre experimental research design consist of one group pre-test and post-test. The Population of this research is the eighth grade of SMPN 8 Tolitoli in 2016/2017 academic year. The sample of this research is selected by using purposive sampling technique and the selected class is VIIib consisted of 17 students. In collecting the data, the researcher took from the result of pre-test and post-test. The researcher analized the data statically.The result of the test showed that the students’ mean score in posttest 84.35is higher than pretest 61,18. To know the significant difference between pretest and posttest, the researcher compared the value of t-counted and t-table by applying 0.05 level of significance for two-tailed test with 16 degree of freedom (17-1=16), the researcher found that the tcounted (13,24) is higher than ttable (2,120) and the hypothesis of this research is accepted.The researcher concluded that applicationkwl strategy can improve students’ reading comprehension in recount text of eight grade at SMP N 8 Tolitoli. The objective of the research is to find out whether the application words association technique increasing students’ vocabulary words association game or not. It is a True-Experimental research. It is conducted at first grade of SMA Negeri 3 Tolitoli that was (X MIA1). The writer gave a pre-test to measure the students previous ability in vocabulary words association after given treatment which is the application of words association game technique. The writer used SPSS 16.0 program to analyze the data collection. the result of data analysis showed that technique give a significant effect to the students’ in words association game. The mean score of the post-test (80,61) was higher than the mean score of pre-test (63,65). Then, the testing hypothesis showed that the value of tcount (tc) was greater than ttable (tt) (6.099 ≥ 2,017). In conclusion, The application of words association game technique is effective to increasing students’ vocabulary.Keywords: Increasing, Vocabulary, Words Association Game, Experiment
