Abstract

Lalos Village is one of the tourist villages prioritised for tourism development due to its significant potential to be developed into a leading tourist destination in Tolitoli Regency. This study aims to analyse the strategies the local government should implement to optimise the benefits of tourism development for local communities, particularly in emerging tourist villages like Lalos Village. The research data were analysed using a qualitative approach. Literature studies and semi-structured interviews were conducted with informants selected purposively to represent various stakeholder groups. The findings emphasise the importance of solid cooperation between the local government, village government, business actors, and local communities. This cooperation is realised through the active involvement of all parties to accommodate their respective interests, ensuring that the goals of sustainable tourism development can be achieved in Lalos Village, a tourist village located in a frontier area. As the policy maker and primary driver of tourism development, the local government should involve the local community in every development activity according to their needs. The local community should not merely be positioned as objects but also as subjects of tourism development to minimise the negative impacts. The strategic steps needed to optimise the benefits of tourism development for the local community include: (1) Establishing dialogues among stakeholder groups, (2) Comprehensively identifying the needs of the local community, (3) Utilising existing resources and social media platforms, and (4) Building a collective commitment to ensure the implementation of strategies.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low learning outcomes of students of SD Negeri 6 Tambun in Indonesian subjects, especially in the reading aspect, the less interesting learning model is the main trigger for this. In tackling this, the author conducted a study by applying a multimedia video animaker-based discovery learning model in learning activities. The purpose of this study was to analyze whether there was an effect of the application of the multimedia video Animaker-based Discovery Learning learning model on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 6 Tambun. This study is a quantitative study with a Pre-Experimental design (Pretest-Postest Interaction Group Comparison). The instruments in this study were observation and learning outcome tests with a sample of 22 students, which used a purposive sampling technique in sampling. The data analysis technique used the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test. The results showed that the probability value was 0.003 which means <0.05, so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The positive implications of the results of implementing this model with integrated media, teachers can consider integrating technology and multimedia in their teaching strategies to increase student engagement and understanding. Abstract

The increasing risk of flooding in settlements along the Tuweley River, Tolitoli, driven by climate change and environmental degradation, has resulted in more frequent and intense flood events. These conditions have caused significant infrastructure damage, reduced living standards, and substantial socio-economic losses. Addressing this challenge requires integrated solutions that combine flood control measures with interconnected drainage systems and building designs capable of adapting to inundation. This study aims to develop concepts of amphibious architecture and adaptive landscape engineering to enhance regional resilience. Amphibious architecture enables structures to adjust dynamically to fluctuating water levels through flexible design systems. At the same time, adaptive landscape engineering applies ecological principles to mitigate flood impacts and improve water infiltration capacity. The research methodology consists of three main stages: (1) vulnerability assessment using GIS mapping and HEC-RAS simulations, (2) participatory design processes involving local communities through focus group discussions (FGDs) to incorporate indigenous knowledge and practical needs, and (3) small-scale prototype testing to evaluate the performance of proposed solutions. Anticipated outcomes include an amphibious architectural model, nature-based landscape strategies, and policy recommendations for local authorities. Implementation will be pursued through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with key stakeholders, supported by follow-up FGDs to develop strategies for collaboratively creating safer, more resilient, and sustainable settlements.

Abstract

The problem of slum areas in Tolitoli Regency remains a strategic issue affecting the quality of life of the community. This condition is triggered by high population density, limited basic infrastructure, and inadequate sanitation systems. The central government, through Presidential Regulation No. 2 of 2015 in the 2015–2019 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), has targeted the eradication of urban slum areas, in line with the Tolitoli Regency Government's commitment in the 2021–2026 RPJMD to reduce slum area by 30–60%. This requires innovative strategies oriented towards sustainability. This study was designed to formulate an ecology-based slum revitalization strategy with the support of GIS technology and green information systems. GIS spatial mapping was used to analyze existing conditions, identify risks, and map potential environmental improvements. The green technology approach is aimed at designing environmentally friendly and efficient solutions. Data were obtained through field surveys, satellite imagery interpretation, and interviews with government, community, and relevant institutions. The research's main outputs include a GIS-based digital slum map, an ecological revitalization strategy model, and policy recommendations for utilizing green technology. The findings are expected to strengthen the role of local governments in formulating data-driven policies and encourage multi-stakeholder collaboration to create healthy, livable, and sustainable residential areas in Tolitoli.

Abstract

Abstract

Rapid advances in digital technology have significantly transformed higher education, particularly in how students construct understanding of abstract scientific concepts. Among recent innovations, Augmented Reality (AR) has gained prominence for its ability to present three-dimensional visualizations of physical phenomena that are otherwise invisible in real-world observation. This study investigates the effect of AR-based learning media on students’ learning outcomes in the Environmental Physics course. A quantitative pre-experimental design of the one-group pretest–posttest type was implemented with 15 Physics Education students who participated in learning activities utilizing AR media. Data on learning performance were collected through pre- and post-tests, analyzed for normality, and further examined using a paired-sample t-test to determine the significance of differences in learning outcomes. The findings revealed an increase in the mean learning score from 55.56 (pretest) to 72.33 (posttest), with a significance value of p = 0.000 < 0.05, confirming a statistically meaningful improvement after the intervention. The results indicate that AR effectively enhances students’ conceptual comprehension, promotes learning motivation, stimulates active engagement, and strengthens critical-thinking ability during the learning process. In conclusion, Augmented Reality represents an innovative and effective pedagogical medium for improving both the quality of instruction and conceptual mastery, particularly in courses demanding high levels of abstract visualization such as Environmental Physics. Future research should involve larger and more diverse samples and explore AR integration across other scientific disciplines to obtain broader empirical insights.

Abstract

This study analyzes the collaborative strategy between the government and the community to address poverty in the urban areas of Tolitoli Regency. The study was conducted in Baolan District, Tolitoli Regency. The method used was a qualitative, descriptive-explanatory approach with purposive selection of informants, observation, in-depth interviews, and FGDs; data analysis followed the approach of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, combined with Geoff Mulgan's strategic framework (purpose, environment, direction, action, learning). The results showed that: the objectives of government and community collaboration were recognized normatively but had not been internalized into operational practices so that program priorities and community participation were inconsistent; complex environmental conditions and poor quality data on prospective recipients increased the risk of inclusion and exclusion; formal strategic direction was available but day-to-day implementation depended on intermediate actors with varying capacities, resulting in inconsistencies; and learning and evaluation mechanisms were not yet integrated so that field feedback rarely changed policy.
