Abstract

The secular academic era presents significant challenges to the existence of Christian faith, particularly within the context of higher education that increasingly places rationalism and relativism as the primary foundations of thought. This condition calls for a missional apologetics that is not only capable of defending faith argumentatively, but also demonstrates spiritual integrity and prophetic courage amid intellectual pressures. This study aims to examine the relevance of 1 Kings 17:1–6 as a theological foundation for constructing missional apologetics in the secular academic era. The research employs a qualitative method through a library research approach and biblical analysis. The findings reveal that the figure of Elijah in 1 Kings 17:1–6 embodies three principal dimensions of missional apologetics: the courage to proclaim God’s truth within a culture that rejects Him, total dependence upon God’s providence, and spiritual consistency in fulfilling the missional calling. In the context of modern academia, these principles serve as an essential foundation for believers to present an intellectual, relevant, and transformative witness of faith. Therefore, missional apologetics should not merely be understood as a theoretical defense of faith, but also as an expression of prophetic spirituality capable of responding to the challenges of secularization within the academic world.

Abstract

Christian Religious Education, also known as Pendidikan Agama Kristen or PAK is a way of teaching that helps students grow in all areas of life. The government wants schools to help students become mature in their spirit, morals and minds. Christian Religious Education plays a role in this by helping students develop spiritually in a school setting. This study looks at how well morning devotion activities help students develop character. We live in a time where many people are losing values, so this is very important. The study found that when students take part in morning devotion activities, they do not just learn about values they start to live with. This happens when these activities are done in a sustainable way. The study also found that the way morning devotion is done is very important. It needs to be managed in a way that makes sense for each school. It needs to be structured and reflective. When homeroom teachers are heavily involved and mentor their students closely it makes a difference. They act as guides for their students. So, morning devotion is not something that students have to do every day. It is a time for them to learn and live out Christian values in their daily lives. Christian Religious Education and morning devotion activities are important, for internalizing Christian values into students' daily behaviours.

Abstract

The book Christian Doctrine: A Pentecostal Perspective by French L. Arrington is a systematic theology rooted in the Pentecostal experience of faith. This book is an example that doctrine is not only an intellectual construction academically, but also a reflection on the work of the Holy Spirit in the contextual life of the church and believers based on the theological perspective of the Church of God (CoG) Denomination of one of the Pentecostal groups at the international level. Arrington outlines 10 central themes such as the Bible, God, creation, man, Christ, Sin, salvation, the Holy Spirit, the church, and the end times. This book is also seen as an inspiration for academic and theological enthusiasm for other academics to realize the independence of each church denomination to do theology in their respective contexts in the contemporary era.

Abstract

The charismatic prayer movement has been an important part of the spiritual life of Christians in Indonesia since the late 20th century. This practice has sparked debate about its compatibility with Church denominational teachings and its impact on ecumenical efforts. This study aims to examine how the charismatic prayer movement influences interdenominational relations among Churches in Indonesia. This study uses descriptive qualitative research with the help of quantitative data analysis. Data was collected through a Google Form survey from all Church denominations in Indonesia. The survey results show that the majority of respondents accept the charismatic prayer movement and see it as a potential ecumenical bridge between church denominations. However, rejection and concerns also arise, particularly regarding theological confusion and liturgical incompatibilities within each church's tradition

Abstract

The Holy Spirit is a divine person who plays a vital role in all biblical evidence. Since creation, the Spirit of God has been present and actively working in shaping and sustaining creation according to God's will (Genesis 1:2). In the Old Testament, the Spirit of God empowered judges, prophets, and the chosen people to carry out their duties in the plan of salvation, while also providing the basis for the eschatological hope of the renewal of humanity through the outpouring of the Spirit. In the New Testament, the work of the Holy Spirit is increasingly evident through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, from his birth and baptism to his ministry as the fulfillment of messianic prophecy. In Pauline theology, the Holy Spirit is the core experience of salvation because through the Spirit believers are renewed, freed from the power of sin, and live in fellowship with God. Ephesians 1:13–14 is a key text that affirms that believers are "sealed" with the Holy Spirit, and that the Spirit serves as a "guarantee" of their inheritance of salvation. The term "seal" refers to divine ownership, approval, and protection, while "guarantee" implies an initial payment that guarantees the fulfillment of salvation in the future. However, in contemporary church practice, the meaning of the Holy Spirit as a seal and guarantee is often understood in a limited way, only as a sign of the believer's identity, so that the eschatological dimension and the certainty of salvation are less considered. Therefore, this study examines Ephesians 1:13–14 through a qualitative method with a grammatical-historical exegetical approach within a canonical hermeneutic framework. The results show that the Holy Spirit is a sign of God's ownership of His people as well as a definite guarantee of the perfect fulfillment of salvation in the future. Keywords: Holy Spirit, Seal, Guarantee, Ephesians 1:13–14, Certainty of Salvation, Pneumatology, Soteriology.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract. This study is motivated by the theological debate concerning infant baptism within the Protestant tradition, particularly between the concept of fides aliena in the Reformed tradition and fides propria in the Anabaptist tradition. The primary issue addressed in this research lies in the differing foundations of faith confession underlying the practice of infant baptism and their implications for the church's understanding of faith, salvation, and the sacraments. This study aims to analyze the theological foundations of these two perspectives, explain the hermeneutical differences that shape them, and formulate their theological and pastoral implications for the contemporary church. The study employs a qualitative research method with a normative-critical theological approach and comparative-conceptual analysis. Data were collected through literature studies of the Bible, confessional documents, works of Reformed and Anabaptist theologians, as well as sources in historical and systematic theology. The findings reveal that the Reformed tradition views infant baptism as a communal sign of God's covenantal grace, whereas the Anabaptist tradition emphasizes baptism based on a conscious personal confession of faith. These differences arise from distinct approaches to hermeneutics, ecclesiology, and covenant theology. This study concludes that the church needs to understand baptism from historical, biblical, and pastoral perspectives in order to foster a dialogical attitude and a more responsible formation of faith. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the lexical meaning of the word Logos in John 1:1 and its Christological implications for the faith of Christians today. The research focuses on the meaning of Logos in the context of the Greek language, its understanding in Christology, and its relevance to the lives of believers. Many Christians understand “Logos” merely as “the Word” without realizing its theological significance as the divine revelation of Christ. This study aims to analyze the lexical meaning of “Logos,” explain its Christological significance, and identify its relevance to the Christian faith today. The method used is qualitative research employing a biblical exegetical approach and lexical study of the New Testament Greek text through literature review. The research findings indicate that the Logos in John 1:1 does not merely mean “the Word,” but points to Jesus Christ as the eternal divine Person, co-existent with God and is God. In John’s Christology, the Logos affirms the pre-existence, divinity, and work of God’s revelation through Christ. This understanding affirms that the Christian faith is centered on Christ as the living Word, the source of truth and salvation, thereby encouraging believers to live in accordance with His truth.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the semantic content of words and language in the Gospel of Luke 16:1-9 through analytical steps. This effort is motivated by the interest of risk mitigation to improve the quality of services at STT Arastamar Wamena which has not yet reached the level set in the Development Master Plan (RIP) document. Qualitative methods accompanied by a library approach underpin the steps of diachronic, synchronic analysis, and critical thinking. This is an elaborative effort supported by literature in the form of Greek interlinear, commentaries, and scientific articles on risk management and the quality of educational services. This effort brings out the semantic implication to conclude that the Gospel of Luke 16:1-9 emphasizes the importance of identifying risks related to loss of control of resources and analyzing needs based on risk evaluation. This effort aims to calculate the impact and options through risk mitigation for resource reallocation and relationship building actions. Various efforts culminate in optimizing service quality with a smart attitude based on integrity.
