Abstract

The activities of this community about the utilization of tofu dregs and water hyacinth as catfish feed in tarpaulin ponds that have been done in Lubuk Siam Village, Siak Hulu Sub-District, Kampar Regency, Riau, the form of public awareness and training. The purpose of this activity is to providing knowledge and application of techniques about making feed catfish from the tofu dregs and water hyacinth are fermented with the EM4 for catfish farming in tarpaulin ponds. On the implementation of this extension and training activities using methods lectures, discussions and demonstrations. The target fish farmers/partners and the community on Hamlet I in Lubuk Siam Village. Results and achievement of targets have provided solutions to overcome the problem of catfish feed costs and the length of the production/harvest period (± 6 months) in the cultivation business it does to ± 3.5 months by minimizing feed costs from Rp.17,000-Rp.20,000/kg to Rp.3,000-Rp.5,000/kg, so you can save on fish feed costs by 50-60%. This Community Service activity received a positive response from the Village Head and village officials and the people of Lubuk Siam Village. Efforts to empower the community of Lubuk Siam Village, it can be seen that the partners have succeeded in making their own feed, adding to the partner's income for a pool measuring 10 m x 16 m with a dense thickness of 25,000-30,000 head of Rp.3,000,000-Rp.4,000,000/month and can improve family nutrition.

Abstract

Out-of-school children are Vulnerable Youth who usually spend their days hanging out on the roadside or at crossroads and at patrol posts, this is because they are still unproductive (not working). Some vulnerable youths have worked but only as unskilled labourers with wages of 40-60 thousand rupiah per day, compared to other villages, school dropouts/vulnerable young people in Bukit Kayu Kapur Village have a higher percentage of 7%, which is 114 people, from the total productive population in 1630. This is because Vulnerable Youth do not have the specific knowledge and skills to be able to work and get better wages. The Community Stimulus Partnership Program has been implemented in an effort to empower young people who are vulnerable to dropping out of school to reduce the number of unemployed people without skills. This effort is to provide graphic design training for vulnerable youth. The results that have been achieved in the Stimulus Partnership Program activities are the increased knowledge of members of vulnerable youth groups about the use of computers and vulnerable youth who have skills in designing several products such as banners, banners, business cards, invitations, calendars and brochures.

Abstract

The hydroponic technology of the wick system is one of the innovations in vegetable cultivation without soil with the innovation of utilizing used goods and household waste such as styrofoam and used cans as a container for planting. The purpose of this activity is to reduce waste in the community, improve the family's economic capacity, and people's interest in consuming clean and hygienic vegetables in Kualu Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency. This hydroponic technique is made of relatively inexpensive and affordable materials so that the limitations of people's financial capabilities can be overcome. This system is a hydroponic system that uses axes to absorb organic nutrients. To minimize the cost of purchasing nutrients, it can be overcome by innovating nutrient solutions from household waste into liquid fertilizer. The implementation of community service uses counselling, discussion and making hydroponic technology. The community is very enthusiastic in joining this program, especially housewives who want to know the application of Wick's hydroponic technology so that they can play a large role in meeting food needs and increasing people's income.

Abstract

Al Bayan Mosque as a centre for Islamic activities and the community has problems in the absence of facilities and infrastructure for massive and interesting information delivery to the public. This is evident when a house fire disaster occurs, the community's response to the collection of social assistance funds is not fast. Collection of assistance and assistance to victims over a period of one week after the disaster. This is one example of the incident as a source of information that needs to be conveyed to the community and congregation of the Al Bayan mosque. As a place for Islamic activities, supporting facilities are needed to have a wider impact on the community. One of them is the presence of digital information board technology as a more attractive means of delivering information by displaying infographics. This technology replaces the role of conventional bulletin boards which are very limited to displaying information and less attractive. This technology is capable of displaying information in the form of text, digital images and videos. In addition, by connecting to the internet network, this digital information board is also capable of displaying video streaming and the pages of a website. This technology is equipped with a minimum of low power systems that are connected to a TV LED via an HDMI port. The result from a survey of usability is 93.5% for efficiency, 91.6% for effectiveness, and 87.6% for satisfaction. From that factor, the mean result of usability is 90.6% or score 4.54 form scale 1-5. In addition to the implementation of the technology above, the dissemination of information through the official social media account of the mosque made its reach touch to millennial circles. That is as a medium of interactive communication between the wider community and mosque administrators as well as a medium for disseminating digital content information. Thus, the application of this technology can benefit the wider community in delivering interesting information through digital media.

Abstract

Farm and agro wastes from area which population has their livehood from farming and agriculture will result in the environmental and health issues if there is lack treatment on those wastes. One of the solutions to overcome these problems is to convert farm and agro wastes into organic fertilizer, which is produced from living substances weathering (plants and animals). Organic fertilizers are available in the form of solid or liquid and contain a lot of organic materials than nutrient levels, thus can improve plant growth. Other advantages of organic fertilizer are cheaper than synthetic ones, environmentally friendly, and are able to decrease negative effects of chemical fertilizers. Organic fertilizer can be made individually or in group of people. The objectives of this activity are to introduce the knowledge and train rural community of Kecamatan Rambah Hilir, Desa Pasir Utama Kabupaten Rokan Hulu, Provinsi Riau in making organic fertilizer using farm and agro wastes. The methods use in this activity are through socialization and training on making organic fertilizer from farm and agro wastes to Desa Pasir Utama community. Organic fertilizer was made by mixing cow manure with straw cuts, followed by addition of palm sugar activated effective microorganisms 4 (EM4). The mixture was left to incubate for 4 weeks and aerated every three days to allow good fermentation. This community service activity supports government program in encouraging growth of reusing farm and agricultural wastes that will increase agricultural productivity of rural community.

Abstract

Pesisir cattle are local West Sumatra cattle that have the advantage of being resistant to disease and can survive by consuming foods that are not superior. Sutera Subdistrict is one of the centres of pesisir cattle farms in Pesisir Selatan District, West Sumatra. The existence of these pesisir cows began to decline because of the large number of pregnant females being cut and the number of breeders who left this cattle breeding business. One reason is that ineffective cattle maintenance with poor diet results in low performance and productivity, even if improved maintenance management such as good ration is provided, the productivity of the cow can be increased. Based on this, it is necessary to empower the community to raise livestock by providing rations that can meet the needs so that the productivity of cattle can be increased. The aim of this thematic KKN-PPM is how students are able to motivate and empower the community there. The method used in this achievement was the extension method and continued with demonstrations and going directly to the field. The activity carried out was technology transfer in the provision of rations for pesisir cattle, making a formulation of pesisir cattle rations as needed. The results obtained open the public's insight to maintain semi-intensive livestock by means of being grounded and their rations provided in accordance with the formulation of pesisir cattle rations made. The ration provided for pesisir cattle is in the form of a complete silage ration by utilizing a source of feed raw materials that are widely available there namely field grass, rice straw, rice bran and other feed sources. With complete silage, the ration helps farmers to be more effective in providing rations and can increase the productivity of pesisir cattle.

Abstract

Chemistry cannot be separated from laboratory experiments as a form of increasing understanding and proof of the chemical theory. The problem is that chemical practices require a very large budget and high handling facilities, equipment facilities, chemicals and storage facilities. So there is a new learning method that uses Chemcollective's Virtual Chemistry Laboratory Technology Application by simulating a chemical lab in a computer application called Virtual Lab / Vlab. This is intended to facilitate the understanding of chemistry through practical simulation and solving solutions for the limitations of laboratory equipment. The method used is the stage of software installation and training to practice the chemicals with Vlab. Learning practicum objects with Vlab is one of them is Acidimetry and Stoichiometry. Stoichiometry is chemistry that studies quantitative relationships between substances involved in chemical reactions. Acidimetric titration is the process of determining the concentration of bases using acid solutions as a standard. On Acidimetri Pre Test 54 and Post Test 70, object Stoichiometry Pre Test 80 and Post Test 81. The significant results of the Post Test versus Pre Test in training at SMAN 1 BungarayaSiak have shown that the Vlab method can improve students' understanding of the concept of chemistry. and it was concluded that the Vlab was very good for further introduction, study and application at different schools.

Abstract

In Manado City flood problem is one of the main problem, one of the flood point is in Kelurahan Perkamil. The objective of implementing the appropriate technology for the biopori flood mitigation is one of the solutions empowering the community to (1) reduce the potential for flooding in Manado city, especially Perkamil village. (2) preventing worsening of environmental damage due to water-surface runoff of the ground. The specific targets to be achieved (1) reduce the flow of land surface water from residential or residential areas; (2) Improve soil texture with organic waste material so that the rate of water catchment into the soil increases, this has an impact on the mitigation of water flow runoff and underground water conservation. The implementation method is to conduct training on all head of the environment and some people in the village make Biopori hole, to manage flooding and household waste with biopori technique. the depth of the biopori hole is 100 cm and a diameter of 10 cm. Materials and tools, dirt drill, paralon, and organic waste. The training results of all trainees can make biopori holes, understand their functions and benefits in mitigating flood potential, manage household organic waste and yard. Participants know that the soil can be used as a soil bio composter to produce organic compost that raw materials for household organic waste and yard.

Abstract

One of the problems in education is educators have not been able to prepare innovative teaching materials in accordance with the progress and development of science and technology. Educators are required to provide innovations to increase students' interest in learning, especially in industrial revolution 4.0. This activity aims to provide understanding and skills to students and teachers in using electronic-based teaching materials and training of e-magazine making in chemistry learning. The activity was carried out in SMAN Pintar which is located in Taluk Kuantan. SMAN Pintar is a boarding school that has adequate infrastructure and facilities, it requires optimization of science and technology, because of that this school can participate in the 4.0 industrial revolution. The method of implementing this program is the provision of material in socialization about 21st-century learning and the use of e-magazine as companion teaching materials, followed by training teachers in making e-magazine using Kvisoft Flipbook Maker application. The results of this program are e-magazine products, usage manuals, and program review books. The evaluation of the program is follow-up by giving a post-test questionnaire and a final review of the program book. This activity received a positive response from students and teachers of SMAN Pintar, Riau Province.

Abstract

Pangkalan Lesung Urban Village is located in Pangkalan Lesung District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. Pangkalan Lesung Urban Village has the potential for nature tourism in the form of hot spring baths, the existence of a nature tourism area can improve the economy of the informal sector through the provision of food for tourists who visit. One alternative food that can be done is processed from fishery products. In addition to having processed fishery products that have good nutritional content for health, they also have a high economic value, are used as processed food products and increase family income. The aim of the activity is to empower the community in Pangkalan Lesung Village, Pelalawan to be able to process fishery products into varied and ready-to-serve products. But still healthy for family consumption because it is created with various types of vegetables and fish. The benefit of the activity is that the community of Pangkalan Lesung Village gets the ability and skills in making fish nuggets and meatballs which have high nutritional value, improve the community's economy and can be developed for further business. The method used is a demonstration and practice on how to process fishery products. The target community for this activity is PKK, with 25 members. The results of the evaluation of participants receiving and practising the material processing of fishery products to be used as entrepreneurship on the 17 August 2019 in Pangkalan Lesung Village.
