Abstract

One of the major challenges in maintaining the quality of food products at the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) scale today is meeting food safety standards. Food safety encompasses the entire process from preparing raw materials to production and reaching consumers. The aim of the community service activities is to gather data and provide an understanding of food safety knowledge. Methods used include data collection, education, focus group discussions (FGD), as well as pre-test and post-test evaluations of members of the Panarukan MSME group in Wringinanom Village, Panarukan District, Situbondo Regency, East Java. The results of this community service activity include data on the business scale, with the majority being micro businesses, as well as an 11.11% increase in food safety knowledge.

Abstract

The tourism sector is recognized as a pivotal industry capable of driving economic growth, particularly in regions abundant with tourism, cultural, and MSME potentials. Village officials and community members play crucial roles in fostering local economic development. However, the absence of English-speaking tour guides among village residents poses a significant challenge. This program aims to address this issue by supporting English-speaking tour guides to showcase local wisdom to international tourists. Additionally, the program seeks to enhance tour guides' skills in creating drone-based videos. Implementation involves training local tourism awareness groups to proficiently communicate in English and produce drone-based promotional videos of tourist destinations. The outcomes of these activities include improved English language proficiency among partners following tour guide training, as well as partners' ability to operate drones and produce promotional videos in accordance with established procedures. This initiative holds great significance for the Kurau Tourism Community group, particularly in enhancing English communication skills and creating tourism videos to bolster Kurau's tourism sector.

Abstract

Preparing teaching modules that lead to AKM requires skills in framing abstract mathematical material into a situation or problem context known to students. This is a new challenge for teachers. The process of arranging mathematical material into a context familiar to students is called mathematical modeling. However, in practice, teachers often overlook the importance of modeling skills in teaching. This activity aims to equip mathematics teachers with mathematical modeling skills to enhance their teaching, particularly in preparing students for AKM. The activity, attended by 25 MGMP Mathematics High School teachers in Magetan Regency, was conducted in a hybrid manner (offline and online). Based on the analysis of questionnaire data, it can be concluded that there is an improvement in teachers' understanding of the Independent Curriculum, mathematical modeling, and the application of mathematical modeling in preparing teaching modules for mathematics topics. Similarly, there is an increase in awareness of self-development as professional teachers.
