Abstract

Kapal perikanan merupakan salah satu unsur dalam menentukan keberhasilan operasi penangkapan ikan. Pembuatan kapal perikanan di Indonesia secara umum masih bersifat tradisional. Kayu digunakan sebagai material utama dan dibutuhkan ketersediaan kayu dalam jumlah yang besar. Saat ini, produksi kayu dari hutan di Indonesia semakin menurun sehingga menyebabkan kayu menjadi terbatas dan harganya tidak ekonomis, sehingga perlu adanya efisiensi penggunaan kayu. Tingkat efisiensi ini dilihat dari tingkat pemanfaatan material kayu pada pembuatan konstruksi kapal. Penelitian ini penting dilakukan dengan alasan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi serta keefektifan pembangunan kapal kayu di Indonesia terutama pada penggunaan material kapal, salah satunya adalah gading-gading. Pemilihan gading-gading sebagai fokus bahasan pada penelitian ini dikarenakan gading-gading merupakan salah satu konstruksi utama kapal yang berfungsi sebagai rangka kapal. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survey, yaitu galangan kapal rakyat UD. Semangat Untung di Desa Tanah Beru, Bulukumba, Sulawesi Selatan. Objek penelitian ini adalah kapal perikanan yang memiliki 29 gading-gading dengan tipe U bottom, round bottom, dan V bottom. Analisis data dilakukan dengan membandingkan volume kayu terpakai dengan volume kayu awal serta mengelompokkan gading-gading berdasarkan tipenya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemanfaatan kayu untuk pembuatan gading-gading mencapai 85,53%. Nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kayu untuk gading-gading cukup efektif.

Abstract

Clean and healthy life behavior (PHBS) in schools is an activity to empower students, teachers, and the community to run a healthy lifestyle and create healthy schools. The activity aims to socialize the importance of environmental sanitation in schools and raise awareness about the importance of environmental health in schools, through socialization and implementation training conducted in September 2020 in Bantarjati District, Bogor City, West Java. The activity was followed by students in grade 4 (four) elementary school totaling 35 students with implementation activities consisting of the preparation, core program and evaluation stages, then analyzed qualitatively through field observations and participant understanding interviews. The implementation of sanitation that has been carried out on students is one of the basic sanitation, which is washing hands and sorting waste by type. Minister of Health Regulation No. 3 of 2014 concerning STBM explains that washing hands with soap is the behavior of washing hands using clean running water and soap. Waste in general is divided into two, namely organic and inorganic waste. Both of these wastes have benefits for us, but they also have an impact on the environment. The results of this activity are students knowing the importance of maintaining environmental sanitation and environmental health (hygiene), so that it can be applied in daily life through implementation training (practice). Abstract

ABSTRAKIndonesia sebagai negara kepulauan terbesar memiliki potensi perikanan yang terbesar di dunia. Potensi perikanan tersebut dapat ditingkatkan dengan memberikan nilai tambah melalui produk ikan olahan. Memberikan nilai tambah pada produk mentah banyak disadari oleh masyarakat sehubungan dengan kondisi force majeure COVID-19 yang menciptakan tren produksi mandiri produk makanan olahan, baik untuk dikonsumsi sendiri maupun untuk diperjualbelikan kembali. Preferensi masyarakat akan konsumsi produk olahan ikan masih belum optimal, sehingga penulis tertarik untuk meneliti perilaku konsumen terhadap produk olahan ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa persepsi dan perubahan perilaku konsumen akhir dan konsumen bisnis serta strategi yang diambil terhadap produk ikan olahan dan kaitannya dengan kondisi pandemi COVID-19. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dan kuantatif. Metode analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu analisa SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats). SWOT analisis dipakai untuk menganalisa faktor internal yang terdiri dari kekuatan dan kelemahan serta faktor eksternal yang terdiri dari peluang dan ancaman. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama tiga bulan yaitu mulai bulan Oktober sampai Desember 2020 dan digambarkan dalam matriks Internal External Factor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai koordinat analisis internal sebesar 0,79 dan koordinat analisis eksternal sebesar 0,85. Nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa preferensi konsumen terhadap produk olahan ikan berada pada kuadran I dan strategi pemasaran yang perlu dilakukan berupa strategi pertumbuhan agresif.Kata kunci : COVID-19, metode swot, olahan ikan, perilaku konsumen

Abstract

This research aimed to determine nitrite and nitrate contamination in wastewater discharge from the smoked fish industry around the fishpond area in Penatarsewu village, Sidoarjo East Java. Samples were taken from ten locations along The Alo River from September to November 2020. Nitrate and nitrite levels were determined by the Standard Method for Examination of Water and Wastewater 4500-NO2-B dan 4500-NO3-B. Nitrite formed a reddishpurple azo dye produced by coupling diazotized sulfanilamide with N-(1-naphthyl)-ethylene-diamine dihydrochloride after a visible spectrophotometer measured the complexes nitrite at wavelength 543 nm. Meanwhile, the Nitrate level was determined by ultraviolet spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 220 nm. The standard nitrite calibration curve was shown by the line equation y= 3,30361x-0,0028 and a determination coefficient of 0.9999. Whereas the standard nitrate was showed by the line equation y=0,2507x + 0,0067 and a determination coefficient 0,9996. The level of nitrate and nitrite in the sample ranged from 0.05-0.93mg / L 1,2-1,6 mg / L. According to a quality standard threshold value for nitrite and nitrate-based on the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia (PPRI) No.82 2001 is 0,06mg/L and 10 mg/L, therefore it can be concluded that some samples are above the threshold value for nitrite level.Keywords: Alo River,  nitate,  nitrite,  smoked fish,  spectrophotometerPenentuan Kadar Nitrit dan Nitrat Pembuangan Limbah Cair Industri Ikan AsapABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan untuk menentukan tingkat kontaminasi nitrat dan nitrit pada limbah industri ikan asap di sekitar kawasan tambak ikan asap di Desa Penatarsewu, Sidoardjo, Jawa Timur. Sampel diambil dari 10 titik  di areal sekitar tambak sepanjang badan Sungai Alo pada bulan September sampai November 2020. Penentuan kadar nitrat dan nitrit mengacu pada Standard Methods for the Examination Water and Wastewater 4500-NO2-B dan 4500-NO3-B. Nitrit membentuk kompleks ungu kemerahan yang dihasilkan dari kopling sulfanilamida dengan N-(1-naptil)-etilena-diamina dihidroklorida kemudian kadarnya ditentukan dengan spektrofotometer sinar tampak pada panjang gelombang 543 nm. Kadar nitrat ditentukan menggunakan spektrofotometer ultraviolet pada panjang gelombang 220 nm. Hasil pengukuran standar nitrit menghasilkan persamaan garis y=3,30361x-0,0028 dengan koefesien determinasi 0,999 dan standar nitrat menghasilkan persamaan garis y=0,2507x+0,0067 dengan koefesien determinasi 0,9996. Kadar nitrit dan nitrat secara berturut-turut berkisar antara 0,05-0,93 mg/L dan 1,2-1,6 mg/L. Berdasarkan nilai ambang batas baku mutu nitrit dan nitrat berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia (PPRI) No.82 tahun 2001 adalah 0,06 mg/L dan 10 mg/L, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa beberapa sampel mengandung kadar nitrit  di atas ambang batas.Kata kunci : ikan asap, nitrat, nitrit, Sungai Alo, spektrofotometer

Abstract

The production of white snapper, Lates calcarifer is mostly the result of high seas catching and still a little is obtained from aquaculture. The spawning technique at the Situbondo Brackish Water Cultivation Center is naturally by applying environmental manipulation with the spawning process occurring at night. The seed is sown in the morning or evening, with an acclimatization process for 5-10 minutes. The seeds that were stocked were 10 cm in size with an average weight of 100 g head-1, stocking density of 19 individuals m-3. The results showed that hatchery production was 531 360 fish per year consisting of 6 cycles with 450 000 stocking using 3 rearing tanks. The results of the study carried out showed that the analysis of the effort carried out at the BPBAP Situbondo for 3 months was an intensive activity seen from the production results which reached 472 320 3 cm 3 cm fry in 1 year, and the consumption size of white snapper. 500 g reaches 3 180 kg per year. The hatchery activities carried out at BPBAP Situbondo are feasible to be used as a business because the R/C Ratio obtained is about 2.3.

Abstract

Aplication of pumpkin skin flour Curcubitae sp. to improve of the water quality performance and support shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei growth, it necessary to do an analysis. Pumpkin skin Curcubitae sp. as a source of stimulants needed by bacteria to survive in the nitrification denitrification processes in aquaculture as an alternative to environmental friendly with bioremediation system evaluation. Its mesophilic nature and a organic ions source for bacterial growth. Pumpkin skin can support the growth and activity of nitrifying denitrifying bacteria in the environment. This study aims to determine the best of dose of pumpkin skin as a biostimulator of nitrifying denitrifying bacteria growth. The treatments used were pumpkin doses of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% for 20 L culture water. Giving pumpkin flour can improve the performance of abundance and activity of nitrification denitrification bacteria. The activity of nitrifying bacteria can be seen from the presence of ammonia value which is relatively more stable compared to other treatments. The best oxidation of ammonia in 6%, and reduction nitrite in the 4% treatments. The treatment of 4% was effective in maintenance for 30 days which could maintain the stability of water quality and increase the growth of vaname shrimp.

Abstract

Food loss and waste (FLW) serta ketergantungan bahan pakan impor masih menjadi tantangan yang perlu diselesaikan secara komprehensif. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan biokonversi limbah organik menggunakan maggot Black Soldier Fly (BSF). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat performa teknis dan ekonomi ternak ayam lokal pedaging IPB D1 yang diberikan maggot BSF dalam ransumnya. Desain penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) untuk melihat perbedaan performa produksi dan ekonomi dari 515 ayam pedaging IPB D1 yang diberikan ransum yang berbeda (P0, P1, dan P2) selama sepuluh minggu waktu pemeliharaan. Ada tiga klasifikasi variabel yang diamati, yaitu proses dan biaya pembuatan tepung maggot BSF, performa produksi, dan performa ekonomi ternak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan potensi tepung maggot sebagai salah satu alternatif sumber protein pada ransum ayam lokal pedaging. Efisiensi pakan dan performa produksi ayam IPB D1 yang diberikan ransum P1 dan P2 mampu bersaing dengan ransum yang menggunakan sumber protein lainnya. Performa ekonomi juga menunjukkan hal yang sama. Meskipun demikian, biaya produksi tepung maggot yang masih relatif mahal menyebabkan keuntungan yang diterima ransum P1 dan P2 relatif kecil dibandingkan dengan ransum yang tidak menggunakan tepung maggot. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini berdasarkan hasil performa teknis dan ekonomi menunjukkan hasil yang layak dikembangkan, namun masih diperlukan inovasi untuk menekan biaya produksi dan meningkatkan keuntungan.

Abstract

Fish paste is a local product which is a source of income for coastal communities in Situbondo Regency. Production of fish paste is still dominated by household business scale. In addition to paying attention to chemical and microbiological quality, it is necessary to pay attention to sensory quality to meet the quality and food safety requirementsof the paste. Even, organoleptic quality greatly determines consumer acceptance to buy products. This study aims to determine consumer acceptance of the organoleptic quality of four types of fish paste products produced by producers A, B, C, and D in Situbondo Regency. Testing on consumer acceptance is carried out by sensory testing using the hedonic test method. The sensory parameters tested included: color, aroma, taste, aftertaste, and overall acceptance of the paste. There are 9 hedonic scales used in this test, namely very dislike (1), really dislike (2), dislike (3), rather dislike (4), neutral (5), rather like (6), likes (7), likes very much (8), and likes very extremely (9). The numerical scale (1-9) is processed using ANOVA and Duncan's test. The results showed that the organoleptic quality of the four types of fish paste was rated somewhat neutral (5) to rather like (6). Among the four products, the fish paste D (5.84) and B (5.75) that are most accepted by consumers with characteristics: dark brown paste, the aroma of spices and fish are smelt, the savory taste is felt, the fishy aftertaste doesn't linger in the mouth, and the texture is homogeneous-elastic-soft. While the petis made by producer A got a preference value of 4.92 (ordinary) and the petis made by producer B with a preference value of 5.17 (ordinary).

Abstract

Pond bottom sediment conditions influence shrimp culture. As benthic organisms, shrimp are mainly on the surface of the pond bottom, so cultivation preparations related to improving sediment quality are essential. Pond bottom practice, such as drying, liming, and fertilizing, is common. However, in bottom pond conditions where total drying cannot be carried out, other treatments are needed, such as the addition of hydrogen peroxide. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding hydrogen peroxide in pond sediments on the performance of shrimp growth and water quality. The study was conducted with five doses of hydrogen peroxide (0.25 mL, 0.5 mL, 1 mL, 2 mL) mixed with 350 g of pond soil sediment. Ten shrimps with an average weight of 0,27±0,03 g were put into the rearing container, which had been given pond bottom sediment according to the treatment. The results showed that the 2 mL hydrogen peroxide treatment gave the best results on the growth rate and average weight of Pacific whiteleg shrimp at the end of rearing. Water quality such as pH value, dissolved oxygen, and temperature were not significantly different between treatments. Hydrogen peroxide treatment can improve shrimp growth performance without affecting water quality during rearing.

Abstract

Tilapia cultivation in Nagrak Village has been practiced for a long time as one of the community's sources of income. The aquaculture business is still carried out traditionally such as the use of ground ponds, feeding management that relies on natural feed, packaging that is not in accordance with standards, and fish marketing that only uses the direct selling technique (word of mouth). The obstacles faced by partners are limited knowledge on utilizing the potential of tilapia cultivation and processing, as well as the lack of planning and strategies of product marketing. This community service activity aims to provide insight into the potential for tilapia business development, introduce processed small tilapia fish called crispy baby fish as a healthy snack with economic value, and explain the description of business analysis, good packaging techniques, and online marketing. This activity was carried out with a socialization method or presentation of material to the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) group of 35 people. The material presented were introduction to tilapia farming, the business potential of crispy tilapia snacks, an overview of business analysis, and online marketing strategies. The conclusion obtained from community service activities in Nagrak Village is needed for training activities to increase community knowledge and skills on developing the potential of the tilapia business.
