Abstract

West Bacukiki District is a food source-producing area in Parepare City, South Sulawesi. However, this area is located on rocky hills and has a slope of up to 25°. It was quite difficult for the management of water and soil because the water at a height of discharge is very little. The condition was felt by the Barangan Farmers Group who cultivate shallots. Water has to be pumped and it costs a lot to buy fuel for the pumping machine. One solution that can be done is a pumping system with abundant alternative energy sources and the provision of organic fertilizer products to having nutrient needs. This activity was carried out in 4 stages, namely socialization of activities, optimizing solar panels, repairing water pumps, and bio-humic application. This activity really helps KT Barangan in agricultural cultivation activities by increasing the discharge of pumpable water and increasing the organic matter of rocky and sloping soils on their land.

Abstract

This community service initiative leverages modern technology to enhance the efficiency and quality of AsSalwa honey production, as well as to improve the management of honey product sales. The method involves disseminating the use of filling machines and financial management systems. This program offers multiple benefits, including increased productivity in honey filling, maintaining a more consistent product quality, and providing access to accurate and detailed sales data through a Point of Sale (POS) system. The results obtained from this program demonstrate that honey owners can automatically fill honey into various packaging sizes using a filling machine. This machine is capable of filling liquid honey ranging from 100g to 2,500g. Additionally, the process of recording buying and selling transactions becomes more structured and well-documented. Partners can also estimate the profits obtained through one of the system's features. Through the combination of automatic filling and a POS system, this program has successfully improved product quality and enhanced the management capabilities of the honey business.

Abstract

Pasangsari Village, situated in Windusari District, stands out for its severe poverty levels, necessitating swift intervention to alleviate these challenges by leveraging its potential. Brigasan Kidul Hamlet, located within Pasangsari Village, is primarily inhabited by farmers. Despite its economic reliance on agriculture, the hamlet, positioned at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level, is densely covered with bamboo trees. Notably, bamboo serves as a crucial resource for the production of skewers, contributing to the local economy. The skewer industry, owing to its zero-waste production process, stands as a key factor in enhancing both capacity and product quality. The objective of this community service initiative is to enhance the quality and quantity of skewer products through technological implementation, thereby increasing the income of craftsmen in Brigasan Hamlet. The methods employed in this community engagement include socialization, the introduction of smoothing and sharpening machine technology, reinforcing administrative and institutional aspects, as well as mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. The program's outcomes encompass an improvement in the quality and quantity of skewer products, coupled with the implementation of simple bookkeeping practices that facilitate the monitoring process.

Abstract

One of the untapped potentials in Tempursari Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency, lies in the sheep farming business. However, this endeavor has yet to reach its optimal potential due to the limited knowledge of breeders regarding sheep farming and marketing. To address this, mentoring activities were initiated for breeders in Tempursari Village, aiming to optimize their businesses through a green economy-based revolving livestock concept. The mentoring process commenced with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) involving four current breeders and two prospective breeders. This session delved into a comprehensive analysis of the challenges faced and the aspirations for business development. As a result, a sheep farming group named 'Migunani' was established. The breeders received education on effective sheep farming practices and determining appropriate product sales prices. The mentoring activities concluded with the provision of assistance, which included ten 12-month-old sheep and seeds for fodder plants such as bb biogen, red napier, and pakchong, each comprising 300 stems. Supplying fodder plant seeds aims to enable farmers to cultivate their own feed, eliminating the need to graze elsewhere to meet the dietary requirements of the sheep.

Abstract

In 2022, the World Liquified Petroleum Gas Association (WLPGA) reported that there are more than 28.3 million LPG-fueled vehicles used throughout the world with an increasing trend in the last 20 years. The growth of LPG-fueled vehicles will require more mechanics from vocational school graduates who master environmentally friendly technology. Considering the availability of resources, Muhammadiyah Vocational High School 1 Bandongan Magelang (SMK MUTU Bandongan) has the potential to complement the competencies of graduates with mastery and skills in servicing modern and environmentally friendly vehicles, as one of their uniqueness from others. Therefore, we develop and implement environmentally friendly automotive technology learning media, especially LPG-fueled vehicles at SMK MUTU Bandongan. This is an implementation of research on LPG-fueled vehicles over the last 10 years. Activities are carried out through (1) rebuilding and reconditioning the engine which will be modified into a bi-fuel engine; (2) procurement and installation of converter kits; and (3) increasing teacher competency.
