Abstract

High-rise buildings are structures that are prone to lateral loads. Every high-rise building design requires a strong structure to withstand lateral loads due to earthquake and wind loads. The use of Shear Walls can reduce the displacement that occurs due to lateral loads received because of earthquake loads and wind loads. This study aims to analyze the effect of Shear Walls on the Monde City Tower M2 Apartment building in Batam City. The method used in this study is a numerical analysis in the form of modeling a 15-story apartment building located in Batam City. The building is modeled into 2 types, namely (V1) a structure without using Shear Walls and (V2) a structure using Shear Walls according to the structural drawings. The earthquake analysis was carried out using the response spectrum method with the software ETABS v 18.1.0 for the structural analysis calculations. The results of the analysis obtained in the form of the deviation value from a structure that uses shear wall have decreased the deviation in the X direction by 12.5476 % and a decrease in the deviation in the Y direction by 68.1254 %. P-Delta in a structure that uses a shear wall is much better in structural stability than a structure that only uses a frame system.

Abstract

Abstract

Building construction in Indonesia generally uses concrete. The concrete used for building structures, such as beams, generally utilizes reinforced concrete. It is very rare to see the use of prestressed concrete for building structures such as beams, especially in Batam City. This study aims to analyze the comparison between the beam structure with reinforced concrete that has been existing and prestressed concrete in the Kaliban School project. The stages in this research included prestressed concrete beam design and comparative analysis. The design of prestressed concrete beams was planned to be composite prestressed concrete blocks using the pre-tension method with a fully prestressed system, and was cast with the floor slabs and also supported during the casting period. Comparative analysis conducted by the researcher of this study was a comparison of the materials used in reinforced concrete beams and prestressed concrete beams. The results of the prestressed concrete structure design obtained a beam dimension of 200 × 400 with a diameter of 12.7 mm, in which 4 pieces were installed 125 mm below the beam. The results of the comparison analysis of the total material prices between prestressed concrete beams with dimensions of 200 × 400 and existing reinforced concrete beams with dimensions of 200 × 500 showed that prestressed concrete beams were 24.28% cheaper than reinforced concrete beams.

Abstract

Traffic problems are often found in big cities or small towns, one of which is Pamekasan Regency. Traffic jams often occur at the intersection with no signal, the intersection of Jl. Mandala – Jl. Raya Tlanakan Pamekasan City. Intersections are an integral part of all road systems. The performance of the intersection often decreases which has an impact on road users due to vehicle queues, decreased speed, decreased environmental quality and increased delays. The benchmarks for evaluating the performance of intersections are capacity, queuing opportunities, intersection delays and degrees of saturation. The results of the analysis of the performance of the intersection obtained a maximum capacity value (C) of 2257.83 pcu/hour not more than the basic capacity (Co = 2700 pcu/hour). This shows that the lowest capacity classification occurs on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 18.00 – 21.00 WIB, while the highest DS (Degree of Saturation) value is 0.63 and the largest intersection delay (D) is 19.17 sec/ SMP occurs on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 06.00 – 10.00 WIB. Based on these results it can be seen that the capacity at the intersection of Jl. Mandala – Jl. Raya Tlanakan Pamekasan City is still feasible to accommodate the traffic volume, because it is smaller than the basic capacity of the intersection. To overcome the problem of congestion at intersections, generally during working hours or during peak hours, security and supervision from related parties are needed

Abstract

Barella bridge is a type of cable stayed bridge in Indonesia. According to the cable arrangement pattern, cable stayed bridges are divided into three types, namely radial type, harp type, and fan type. On cable stayed bridges, dynamic analysis is needed so that the bridge is categorized as safe. One of the loads used in dynamic analysis is the earthquake load. Earthquake is a physical phenomenon characterized by vibrations on the earth's surface with various intensities. The earthquake itself is divided into two, namely horizontal earthquakes and vertical earthquakes. In this case study, the earthquake load is input for the padang area zone in the time history and the software used is SAP 2000 to calculate the response on both the girder and pylon. This research found the influence of vertical earthquake loads and horizontal earthquake loads on the response of cable stayed bridges, especially the displacement and tension of the cables.

Abstract

Maintenance of air transportation infrastructure, in the pavement system section at Fatmawati Airport, Bengkulu Province and other airports in Indonesia, must had high performance, safety, security, reliability and sustainability. Routine inspection activities at major airports in Indonesia usually use the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method as a parameter. This journal examines handling costs, handling periods and the minimum based on the reduction in PCI values due to existing traffic loads by building several types of handling scenarios. In addition, it also evaluates the structural performance of the runway pavement. The results of the PCI value analysis show that it is decreasing every year. This decline prediction used forecasting from previously obtained data. For 2016 the PCI value obtained was 89 (satisfactory), 2017 was 83 (satisfactory), and 2018 was 73 (sufficient). Based on the PCI value of 3 years and the growth in aircraft traffic, the impairment can be calculated by modeling the equation. The PCI prediction value in 2019 is 66 (fair), the PCI value in 2020 is 60 (fair), and the PCI value in 2021 is 54 (poor). It can be concluded that the increasing growth of aircraft traffic with routine maintenance will make the PCI value on the runway pavement decrease every year.

Abstract

The term land subsidence denotes the collapse of a building due to compression and deformation of the soil layer beneath the building. Settlement will occur if a layer of soil is loaded, settlement is also influenced by the distribution of soft soil or clay found below the surface on alluvial plains. In this case, the West Sumatra-Riau Jorong Bancah Kenagarian Batu Balang road, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, is one of the areas traversed for the construction of the West Sumatra-Riau cross road. This road is included in the category of primary local roads with a road width of 6 m. Currently, the physical condition of the West Sumatra-Riau Jorong Bancah Kenagarian Batu Balang road, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, has been repaired and some has not been repaired. The road in Bancah includes the Payakumbuh – Tanjung Pati ring road, which is used by the local community and trucks to speed up the road. Based on this, a study was carried out to determine the condition of the soil on the road. This research was conducted by taking samples at the research location and then determining the water content, specific gravity, density and finally the California Bearing Ratio (CBR). The average water content for undisturbed samples was found to be 30.98%. Based on the test results, it was found that the average soil density was 1.10 gr/cm³, so it can be concluded that the soil tested was a type of clay. Furthermore, the results of testing the soil density obtained dry specific gravity, the maximum ɤd is 2.83 t/m and the optimum moisture content is 16%. The density obtained from the results of testing in the Civil Engineering Laboratory of STT Payakumbuh is the average soil density: 2.59 gr/cm³ which is categorized as soft soil. The results of laboratory CBR testing found that the average CBR of soil was 5.27%. This shows that the land is not suitable for use for construction if the minimum standard is 6%.
