Abstract

This scientific work aims to discuss the procession of the dewa ayu dance and it’s value of Hindu religious education contained in this dance. This scientific work is the result of qualitative research whose data was collected through observation, documentation studies and in-depth interviews with Pemuteran village traditional leaders and observers of Balinese culture. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively descriptive by applying a number of eclectic theories, namely aesthetic theory, symbol theory and constructivism theory. The results of the study show that the indigenous people of Pemuteran Village are trying to preserve the Dewa Ayu Dance as an offering to Hyang Widi Wasa at the Panca Yadnya Ceremony. In general, the procession of the god ayu dance can be divided into three parts (1) canang sari and incense offerings by stakeholders; (2) ngurek, which is the stage of the dancers who are accompanied by stakeholders who experience a disturbances by stabbing themselves with a dagger they carry; (3) the dancers' awareness stage from distress to the normal situation. Pemangku took a keris from a dancer to be given a tirta and brought to its place (innards). Dewa Ayu dance has educational values, including: the value of togetherness education, the value of tattwa education, the value of moral education, ceremonial education, and the educational value of appreciation of art and culture. As part of efforts to preserve guardian dance (sacred), the tradition of Dewa Ayu dance performances in the life of Pemuteran Village community needs to be preserved.

Abstract

Efforts to save and prevent coastal tourism areas from the threat of abrasion and the threat of monopoly on the use of areas by certain parties need to be pursued, so that the existence of coastal areas that are used as tourist destinations can provide comfort for the user community. As an area that respects local wisdom inherited from its ancestors, Bali always implements policies that are in line with its local wisdom, one of which is the teachings of Tri Hita Karana. In an effort to save and develop a beautiful and comfortable coastal tourism area, it is necessary to design a development system that is in harmony with local wisdom in Bali. The purpose of this paper is to show that The Beach Recovery System is in line with the teachings of Tri Hita Karana and becomes a relevant role model to be applied for the recovery and arrangement of safe and exotic coastal tourism areas. From the study conducted, a strategy for developing a coastal tourism area called The Beach Recovery System was drawn up which is in line with the teachings of Tri Hita Karana owned by the Balinese people. The Beach Recovery System emphasizes the need to determine the supporting components in coastal tourism areas which include: crab, groint, walk way, buffer zone, and green zone. With the fulfillment of these components, surely the welfare expected by the teachings of Tri Hita Karana can be realized in a beautiful and comfortable beach tourism area, which of course will be an attraction for tourists.

Abstract

There has been a conflict of understanding among Hindu religious groups, as a result of not adapting to the local cultural environment that has been considered well established. So as a consequence, there is a gap/conflict of understanding that has an impact on miscommunication. The concerns of various parties, especially among traditional Hindu figures as the "opinion leader" of Hindu communities in Bali with the concept of the teachings of "Tri Murti" insist on fortifying the influences of sampradaya teachings that are considered not in line with the tradition of "Dresta Bali". The effect of tryadic communication with the concept of Tri Murti teachings and the formation of pakraman villages/Balinese customary village is a strategic effort to anticipate, fortify and overcome conflicts between Hindu Religious groups, both at the pakraman village/customary village level and the family environment in Bali. The study used “dependency theory” from Ball-Rokeach and DeFlour. The method of data collection is participatory observation, in-depth interviews and literature studies. Data processing methods are carried out through processes : reduction, display and data verivikation. While the technique of determining informants is done purposive sampling. As for the findings of this study that the name "Pura Kahyangan Tiga" does not describe the number of appropriate temples that should amount to three in each village pakraman/customary village, but the fact in the field is different, it could be that one village pakraman/customary village has two temples (if Pura Desa/Bale Agung and Pura Puseh combined in one area) and even the number of Pura Kahyangan Tiga can be more than three pieces (if Pura Dalem Setra more than one). Therefore, it needs to be reviewed, the naming of Pura Kahyangan Tiga which is not in accordance with the concept in question. Based on this description, several conclusions can be drawn, namely : 1) Tryadic communications is “a triangular communication” (samuantiga) which in its implementation has caused the effect of Tri Murti in Bali, both at the family level, pakraman village/customary village and more broadly at Pura Sad Kahyangan for all Hindu communities in Bali. 2) The effect of tryadic communications Pura Samuantiga on the level of pakraman village/customary village was built Pura Kahyangan Tiga, which consists of : Pura Desa/Bale Agung as a place of worship of Lord Brahma, Pura Puseh as a place of worship of Lord Visnu and Pura Dalem as a place of worship of Lord Siva, as well as a unifying medium for all Hindus in the territory/territorial wewidangan pakraman village/customary village. 3) The effect of tryadic communications Pura Samuantiga on the family sphere was built Palinggih Kamulan Rong Telu/Tiga, as a medium of worship Tri Murti and the ancestral spirit of the siddhadewata, as well as a unifying media in the family sphere.

Abstract

Bhuana Sangksepa's text is a Shivaistic text classed as a Tattwatext due to its explanation of Shiva's supreme position in the universe. The text of Bhuana Sangksepa was chosen because it discusses cosmology in terms of the process of cosmos formation and dissolution. The issue that will be examined in this study is the process of the universe's formation and dissolution as described in Bhuana Sangksepa's text. This study employs hermeneutic qualitative research and data collection using library research techniques. The major data source for this study is the text of Bhuana Sangksepa, and the data will be examined descriptively before being provided in descriptive form. According to Bhuna Sangksepa's text, God is the source of all that exists. The universe began in a state of emptiness (Sunya). According to Bhuana Sangksepa's text, the universe's creation and disintegration are cyclical. The Samkya explains evolutionary cosmology by stating that the universe's expansion and contraction are ordered by degrees. The cosmos is composed of two layers: the upper layer (Sapta Loka) and the lower layer (Sapta Petala). Sapta Dwipa, Sapta Parwata, Sapta Samudra, and Sapta Tirtha comprise the universe. The notion of Tri Hita Karana explains the Hindus' understanding of cosmology in the Bhuana Sangksepa's text.

Abstract

The tradition of reading, singing, and interpreting religious literary texts gave birth to a didactic method called dharmagita. However, the implementation of the dharmagita tends to prioritize the aesthetic dimension, rather than the didactic dimension, so that it has the potential to hinder the transformation of religious texts in the context of religiosity. This article aims to reveal the semiotics of dharmagita as a strategic transformation of religious texts in the context of modern society. The study was conducted using a qualitative method based on a sociology of literature approach. The results of the study show that modernization affects traditional values so that adaptation strategies are needed so that people are able to follow changes without losing moral and spiritual control. Dharmagita has a transformative role to enlighten society with values in religious texts that are relevant to modern culture. In this context, improving the semiotic skills of dharmagita activists has an important role to optimize their ability to understand, interpret, and contextualize religious literary texts in actual-practical life.
