Jurnal Management of Zakat and Waqf (MAZAWA) merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Jurnal ini fokus pada kajian-kajian tentang manajemen zakat dan wakaf yaitu, manajemen fundrising zakat dan wakaf, manajemen operasional zakat dan wakaf, manajemen pemasaran zakat dan wakaf, manajemen pendayagunaan zakat dan wakaf, isu-isu kontemporer seperti zakat dan wakaf produktif, investasi dana zakat dan wakaf, sukuk zakat dan wakaf, asuransi zakat dan wakaf, matematika zakat baik itu berupa penelitian lapangan maupun konseptual. Jurnal Mazawa hadir untuk merespon perkembangan era dan potensi zakat-wakaf yang terus meninggi, satu sisi sebagai rekomendasi dan di sisi lain sebagai kajian keilmuan. Jurnal Mazawa terbit dua kali selama se tahun, yakni pada Bulan September dan Maret.

Abstract

This study seeks to reveal a waqf asset marketing strategy model through a program that is eaten with the Friends Program Promotion. The main target of this activity is community, that is, by referring to the hypothesis that waqf assets can develop if supported by human resources, one way is to use waqf assets to be owned by everyone, both as partners and ambassadors. The reason is that the waqf assets are not well known by the public so that many waqf assets are not managed. In addition, the waqf assets contain more certificate conflicts because they have not been properly recorded by the waqf institution. Therefore, this study wants to offer a strategy to promote the development of waqf assets. This research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are through observation, interviews, audio and visual media and literature review. The results of the research that have been carried out are as follows: (1) the Indonesian Waqf Movement institute in carrying out a promotion strategy for the waqf companions program, namely by informing and introducing this waqf companion program through printed media (brochures, pamphlets and magazines) and the internet (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp), (2) in implementing the promotion strategy of the waqf companions program, the Indonesian Waqf Movement institute collaborated with various well-known campuses by holding seminars on endowment companions, (3) promotions that have been formulated and implemented are running quite well, although there are still some a factor that becomes a barrier but this can be a note for the Indonesian Waqf Movement institution in carrying out promotional strategies in the future.

Abstract

This study intends to provide a formulation of community empowerment strategies during the pandemic which is carried out by the Malang branch of the Dompet Dhu'afa zakat institution. So far, every zakat institution has focused programs on the community (not only mustahik), but the program is only sudden and not programmed. However, the community empowerment strategy carried out by Dompet Dhu'afa was very effective because it was followed by an accurate management pattern, proportional-based programs and economic development. This is important to research, considering that a community empowerment strategy has not been formulated which has become a national pilot in the midst of a weakening world economy. This research is a descriptive qualitative study with a phenomenological approach to social institutions. All data are primary and extracted based on interview and documentation guidelines, in the final stage it is presented after going through the triangulation process. From the results of this study, several important things were found, namely the implementation of the Aksi peduli Dampak Corona program (APDC) during the Covid-19 pandemic, namely: 1) fish farming in artificial ponds, a freshwater fish cultivation program managed directly by the surrounding community. using artificial pond media, 2) Empowered Farmers are farming activities in the form of local vegetables and fruits which are commodities in the Malang region. Which in turn is managed directly by the surrounding community and directly supervised by experts from planting, maintenance, harvesting, to marketing, 3) Animal husbandry is one of the Corona Impact Care Action movements, here Dompet Dhuafa East Java presents approximately 30 sheep to be managed by surrounding communities affected by this pandemic as well as the stock for distributing the Sacrificial Animal Spread program next year.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the ZISWAF fund management strategy carried out by the Benteng Mikro Indonesia Sharia Cooperative (BMI) Cikupa Tangerang Branch in improving welfare for members and non-members. Research at the location was motivated by the success of the cooperative in making efforts to optimize it, even that success was not only felt by cooperative members, non-members also felt. This success has inspired researchers to go directly to the field, see and ask questions about the ZIZWAF fund management strategy in depth. This is because researchers have observed that various zakat fund management has not been maximized, some are stagnant, some are declining and not developing. So it is necessary to look for zakat management formulations that have been proven to be optimal. For this reason, this study uses qualitative analysis methods with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The random sampling technique is random sampling. The determination of the sampling technique or informant depends on the topic and the objectives of the research itself. The results show that in terms of the management of Islamic cooperatives, BMI has planned programs to improve the economic welfare of members and non-members of the branch of the BMI Islamic cooperative. Cikupa. However, the impact is still not felt by members and non-members because it is not in accordance with their needs. However, the BMI sharia cooperative has a Ready-to-Live Home Grant (HRSH) program, this program is very helpful for members and non-members who do not have a house or have a house that is not suitable for habitation.

Abstract

In the era of digitalization technology, the Zakat collection Boards need to enhance their ways to optimalize the fund rising. BAZNAS of Tangerang City adapts their capacity through implement the digitalization of fundrising  by suing SIMBA (Information Management System of BAznas). The BAZNAS digitalization system in Tangerang City divided into 2 parts, namely internal and external including SIMBA and digital zakat. This study uses a qualitative analysis method with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants selected in this research is determined using purposive sampling technique. Research result shows that the digitization of zakat fund collection in BAZNAS in Tangerang City the implementation has been effective. However, there are still some obstacles faced by BAZNAS staff officers and BAZNAS muzaki such as internet network problems and reporting proof of payment of zakat. Another finding, the implication in this research is BAZNAS Kota Tangerang needs to evaluate human errors that occur in digital systems and strengthen them security and keep innovating.

Abstract

The research entitled "Development Strategy for the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of the State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel Surabaya" is a study that aims to answer questions about the development strategy of the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of the Sunan Ampel State Islamic University, Surabaya.  The research method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach.  Data collection methods used in this study by means of interviews and documentation.  The development strategy that has been carried out by UPZ UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya includes, changing the Rector's Decree of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya to become SK UPZ BAZNAS East Java, conducting a comparative study to UIN North Sumatra and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, and collecting in three ways, namely, picking up zakat.  directly to muzakki, bank transfer, and via barcode code.  The development strategy that has been carried out by UPZ UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya is not optimal.  UPZ UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya must maximize the supporting factors of its development and find the right solution in overcoming the existing inhibiting factors so that zakat management at UPZ UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya runs optimally.

Abstract

The management of zakat has been carried out since the beginning of Islam and its development, both by individuals and groups or certain institutions. By carrying out management by formal institutions such as the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) it is hoped that it can increase the effectiveness of collection and allocation so that it can be used properly by the mustahik. In this study, the approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the utilization of productive zakat funds by mustahik in BAZNAS North Sumatra Province has not been effective. The ineffective use of productive zakat by mustahik can be seen from the ineffectiveness of the goal of productive zakat distribution by BAZNAS, namely increasing the welfare and independence of mustahik economically. Of the 15 mustahiks, only 2 of them are still operating and are able to achieve economic independence. The COVID-19 pandemic has also become an external factor that hinders mustahiks from running their business so that the capital provided cannot be fully utilized.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out in detail about ziswaf and find out the explanation and analyze the purpose of ziswaf in the community economy. Because it is very influential to find out how to improve the community's economy. If the empowerment in the community is good, it will realize the desired community economy. And vice versa, if community empowerment is not stable, social inequality will appear in society. People do not understand about zakat, infaq, shadaqoh, and waqf (ZISWAF), people assume that zakat fitrah and zakat maal in general, people cannot distinguish between income that has been affected by zakat or is still just infaq, and alms, and there is no grouping of benefit receipts. from the collection of zakat, infaq, shadaqoh, waqf funds (ZISWAF). The purpose of this implementation is oriented to community development, achieving the planned socialization program, increasing community capacity in the economic field, namely zakat, infaq, shadaqoh, waqf (ZISWAF). People's understanding increases about the true meaning of it. The implementation of this activity shows that there is an increase in public knowledge about the importance of zakat, imfaq, shodaqoh. And waqf (ZIZWAF) in improving the community's economy

Abstract

Indonesia as a country with a majority Muslim population, daily life cannot be separated from the influence of Islam. One of the teachings of Islam that contains the meaning of the balance of the hereafter is zakat. Zakat is also one of the drivers of the Indonesian economy. Outlook Zakat 2017, states that every year the national zakat collection reaches 30.55%. However, the collection in the field only reached 5 trillion. This illustrates the high enthusiasm of the government and society in raising funds, but the efforts made are less than optimal. Coupled with increasingly modern technology, it will be able to support activities to be more effective and efficient, especially in collecting zakat funds. Using descriptive qualitative methods, researchers want to examine more deeply related to (1) the pattern used in the use of digital media, then identify (2) the opportunities and risks that arise from the use of digital media, so that it can be seen (3) the digital fundraising management strategy formulated in order to achieve the optimal level by LAZ Taman Zakat Indonesia. Primary data in the form of information obtained from primary sources through moderate participation observation activities and unstructured interview techniques. Meanwhile, secondary data is in the form of planning documents and activity reports obtained through documentation activities. With data analysis techniques of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. As a result, the pattern of using digital media by LAZ Taman Zakat Indonesia in the activities of collecting zakat funds has been systematically designed. Coupled with the identification process of the opportunities and risks of using digital media. So that it has described the digital fundraising management strategy of zakat by LAZ Taman Zakat Indonesia to reach the optimal level.

Abstract

The economic empowerment of the ummah to improve the standar of living of the community requires a professional waqf management system that has reliable human resources to improve and development the knowledge and also to improve nazhir ability to build strong, professional and responsible managerial skills. Existence nazhir very important in maintaining and managing the waqf. This study discusses how the empowerment and utilization of waqf assets carried out by nazhir. Nazhir efforts in developing endowment assets in the productive waqf.Furthemore, waqf nazhir strategy in emerging the standard of professionalism can be answered through the strengthening of institutional waqf, building nazhir capacity, developing managerial waqf and its functions that included in it. The research is qualitative in nature which is approached descriptively by showing the human interest side to solve the problem of waqf assets. the data was extracted through interviews and documentation, the data was validated by triangulation technique. The results of this study are 1) waqf land is only managed as a place of worship and education, it has no productivity value. 2) the resources they have come from what they are and do not have professional experience. Of course this is the main problem in the management of waqf assets.

Abstract

The Nurul Fikri Care House Amil Zakat Institution is a manifestation of the Institution-based Zakat Management Act established by the community as a way of incubating poverty and providing muzakki in distributing zakat. Rumah Peduli Nurul Fikri is the original form of an organization with a modern concept by prioritizing the basis of accountability and transparency in collecting, collecting, and distributing zakat, which is in Law number 23 article 17 of 2011 concerning Zakat Management to realize the first goal of zakat as a way of welfare of Muslims. The accountability of the amil zakat institution, Rumah Peduli Nurul Fikri, is known for containing the law and also includes the principles of accountability for zakat management, namely based on Islamic law, trustworthiness, expediency, justice, legal certainty, integrity, and accountability. This is the satisfaction of legal compliance in Law Number 23 article 2 of 2011 concerning Zakat Management. The transparency of the amil zakat institution, Rumah Peduli Nurul Fikri, is respected in the management of zakat funds through transparency of information and administrative reporting to authorized bureaus that participate in zakat management. openness to the amil zakat institution, Rumah Peduli Nurul Fikri, which is revealed in the management of zakat through the implementation of activities and information that can be carried out in general.
