Abstract

Antenatal care (ANC) is a routine activity for pregnant women (pregnant women) to visit health facilities (faskes) for pregnancy control. The existence of Omicron is still threatening, making pregnant women hesitate to visit health facilities. On the other hand pregnant women need information about fetal development. The aim is to increase pregnant women's knowledge about the efforts that need to be made during ANC and avoid the risk of getting Omicron. The method is in the form of counseling using the whatsapp (wa) group, because partners have wa groups that actively communicate. The material is in the form of power point accompanied by voice notes. The number of participants was 34 people who were located in Ngawen Klaten, Central Java for 2 hours, the pretest score of 67 increased to 97 during the post test. This increase shows that counseling with chat wa, two-way communication is still established. The delivery of material was well received by all participants, because they are used to communicating and even meeting in WhatsApp groups. Thus the participants' understanding of ANC during Omicron can be well absorbed by the participants, and they will directly benefit from the material presented, especially for participants who are undergoing pregnancy. Pregnant participants who attended this counseling had a better understanding of running ANC safely and effectively when Omicron was still a threat.

Abstract

The working area of the Wani Community Health Center has 193 cases of stunting in toddlers. One of the risk factors for stunting in toddlers is the use of family toilets. In Central Sulawesi, low birth weight, lack of handwashing behavior, and not having a toilet are risk factors for stunting in infants. Family toilets are an important sanitation facility for housing. The goal of this activity is to provide adequate sanitation facilities for defecation for one household that has a stunted toddler and for the household members to be able to use it. The method of community service is by practicing the construction of healthy toilets and providing education and discussion on healthy toilets to the community who have stunting cases. The target of the education is 20 mothers of stunted toddlers in the working area of the Wani Community Health Center, and after that, the utilization will be evaluated by household members. The results of this community service are the construction of one toilet facility and education to the community on the importance of toilets. The conclusion is that all household members should not dispose of waste in any place such as in rivers and behind houses as before. It is recommended that every household have a healthy toilet to break the chain of environmentally-based disease transmission.

Abstract

Children aged five and under are included in the high-risk category for experiencing impaired growth and physical development if nutritional problems occur. Malnutrition and health problems that commonly occur in children include malnutrition, obesity, and below normal body posture or stunting. One of the efforts that can be made in early detection and prevention of stunting is through Posyandu activities. The University of Riau real work team took part in community service through routine toddler posyandu activities and conducted research to determine the level of knowledge of mothers of toddlers regarding stunting in Sungai Manau village. This service activity is in line with research which aims to find out and increase mother's knowledge about stunting. This activity uses the health education method for mothers with toddlers on August 9, 2022 at the Posyandu in Sungai Manau village. Through this activity it was found that the majority of mothers' knowledge regarding stunting was in the medium category (57%). During the evaluation, it was found that the majority of mothers could answer questions about stunting correctly. We hope that this service activity could be continued with different interventions such as the use of local food resources to overcome stunting in children.
