Abstract

Abstract

Mathematical problem solving skills make it difficult for students to solve problem solving problems. Low self-confidence is one of the factors that cause students to fail in math. This is because students are not used to solving different mathematical problems because the teaching models used are not varied. The purpose of this study is to find out whether students have the ability to solve mathematical problems and improve their self-confidence as a result of Edlink's Sevima-based blended learning approach. This quasy study used a non-equivalent post-test only control group design. all VIII grade students at MTs N 03 OKU Selatan. The cluster random sampling method was used to take the sample. Mathematical problem solving ability test and student confidence questionnaire were used in this study. The normality test yields the sig. value = 0.899 > 0.05 and sig. value = 0.962 > 0.05 if the students' self-esteem data are normally distributed. For the homogeneity test, the sig. 0.05 is 0.583 with data from both classes is homogeneous. In the multicollinearity test, the Tolerance value of 0.912 is greater than 0.1 and the VIF value of 1.097 is less than 10, with the research data having no multicollinear correlation. The results of the study, conducted with Manova Test, showed that students who received Edlink's Sevima-based blended learning had better math problem-solving skills and improved confidence than students who received direct instruction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of a problem-based learning model supported by educational animation videos on students' learning outcomes. The research approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study consists of seventh-grade students, with class VII-C serving as the control group and class VII-D as the experimental group, each consisting of 31 students. The results of the study indicate that the problem-based learning model assisted by educational animation videos yields better results than direct learning, as evidenced by the average scores increasing from 62.081 to 84.613 in the experimental class, while the control class improved from 63.048 to 79.452. Hypothesis testing using the t-test also supports this finding, with a t-table value of 2.00 at a 5% significance level, while the calculated t-value is 2.669. Therefore, since the calculated t-value is greater than the t-table value (2.669 > 2.00), it can be concluded that there is an effect of the problem-based learning model assisted by educational animation videos on students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

PT. Pegadaian is a state-owned company that focuses on secured loans. PT. Pegadaian assesses the property used as collateral before providing a loan. The purpose of this study is to see how the number of appraisals and loan money has an impact on PT. Pegadaian's net profit both partially and simultaneously. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis. The research sample and population were PT. Pegadaian Kanwil XII Surabaya, which reported the appraisal value, loan amount, and net profit during the period 2020-2023. The results showed that the net profit of PT. Pegadaian was not partially influenced by the loan and appraisal variables. This may indicate a correlation that is not strong, a significant variable that is not taken into account, or a non-linear correlation that has not been detected. However, PT. Pegadaian net profit is influenced by both variables simultaneously.

Abstract

his study aims to analyze the errors made by students in solving differential calculus problems, particularly in the topics of absolute value inequalities and the continuity of functions. The research involved 64 students from the Biology Education Program at Universitas Indraprasta PGRI who were enrolled in a differential calculus course during the spring semester of the 2024/2025. The research method employed was a descriptive qualitative approach with error analysis. Data was collected by administering differential calculus problems involving absolute value inequalities and function continuity, which were then analyzed based on the types of errors made by the students. By using radatz  the Error Analysis Theory , that The results showed that the errors made by students could be categorized into two main types: conceptual errors and computational errors. Conceptual errors included a lack of understanding in applying the definition of absolute value inequalities in certain cases, as well as difficulties in identifying points of discontinuity in functions. Computational errors were related to inaccuracies in performing differential calculations and in applying basic calculus theorems related to function continuity. These findings highlight the need for a more comprehensive teaching approach to strengthen students' understanding of fundamental theory and technical skills, as well as the importance of diverse problem-solving practice to reduce errors in concept application. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more effective strategies for teaching differential calculus among students.

Abstract

Production time efficiency plays an important role in the food industry, including at the Tempe Asli HB Samarinda factory. The tempeh production process involves several lengthy stages, such as the preparation of raw materials, fermentation, and acidification. To optimize scheduling, Max-Plus algebra can be applied to enhance the effective and efficient use of production time. This study aims to construct a model of the tempeh production system using Petri Nets and to solve the tempeh production time problem by optimizing production time using Max-Plus Algebra. The research data was obtained through interviews with the branch manager of the Tempe Asli HB Samarinda factory. Petri nets were used to construct a coverability tree, which was subsequently transformed into a Max-Plus Algebra model. Subsequently, a model simulation was performed using production time data starting at t. The results of this research indicate that the optimal or minimum production time for tempeh is 3 days 6 hours and 57 minutes after production begins.

Abstract

Paloh Naga Agrotourism is a popular destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Data from the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) shows a decrease in the number of visits during the period 2021 to 2024. This study aims to apply a fuzzy matrix model with the CETD (Combined Effective Time Dependent Data) method in analyzing tourist motivation and identifying the most significant motivational factors based on age group. The analysis results show that intellectual factors are dominant in the 15-17 age group. Social factors have a strong influence on the 26-30 age group, at the age of 18-25 the influence of social factors decreases and continues to decline in the 36-60 age group. Competence factors have an influence at the age of 15-17 and lose their influence at the age of 18-30 years. The relaxation factor had a significant influence on the 15-17 age group, especially for the need to escape from daily activities, and for the 26-30 age group the relaxation factor was irrelevant. These insights provide valuable implications that tourism managers tailor to the needs of each age group. Future research could extend the analysis with other demographic variables or advanced quantitative approaches.

Abstract

Junior high school students often struggle to understand mathematical concepts. Observations of classroom learning indicate that many students find it difficult to grasp mathematical ideas when there is no tangible representation of those concepts. One such challenge lies in understanding the surface area of three-dimensional geometric shapes with flat faces. Students’ academic performance is also influenced by their interest in the learning process and the tools used. This study aims to develop a manipulative learning media called the "ABCe Board," designed to assist students in discovering the concept of surface area in solid shapes with flat faces. The development of this media followed the ADDIE model. Data collection and analysis techniques were conducted on a limited scale. The research subjects consisted of 18 students from SMP Ar-Rohmah Putri, focusing on the topic of surface area of solid figures. Validity analysis by experts indicated that the media met the criteria for validity, with an average score of 3.4. Meanwhile, practicality analysis based on student responses showed that the media was considered practical, with an average score of 3.39. The media is recommended for use in mathematics instruction to help students understand the concept of surface area more concretely.

Abstract

Understanding mathematical concepts is crucial to students' success in solving mathematical problems. Improving this understanding requires a contextual learning model that supports active student engagement. This study examines the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model, which emphasizes the connection between lesson material and real life, and Edpuzzle, which supports interactive learning through videos with embedded questions. This study aims to examine the differences in the effects of the CTL model with Edpuzzle assistance and the conventional model on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts, as well as to test whether the CTL model with Edpuzzle assistance yields better results than the conventional model. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects were 83 seventh-grade students at MTs Walisongo Sugihwaras, divided into an experimental class (CTL assisted by Edpuzzle) and a control class (conventional). There were five meetings, and pre- and post-tests were administered. Data collection techniques included tests, observations, and documentation. The data analysis revealed that the post-test scores of the experimental class students (average 79.6) were higher than those of the control class students (average 55). The t-test at a 5% significance level yielded a value of t-calculated= 12.017 > t-table= 2.021. Since the post-test data were non-homogeneous, the test was conducted under the assumption of unequal variances. These results suggest that the CTL model, when assisted by Edpuzzle, improves students' ability to comprehend mathematical concepts. Compared to the conventional model. These findings suggest that using a digital, technology-based, contextual approach is a promising strategy for learning.
