Aksara merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Batanghari dan Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Batanghari. Jurnal ini merupakan jurnal penelitian yang mempublikasikan artikel hasil penelitian asli, studi kepustakaan, dan tulisan terkait dengan fokus pada kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, kajian bahasa dan kajian sastra. Semua artikel ditinjau oleh 4 orang reviewer, 2 orang reviewer internal dan 2 orang reviewer eksternal. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali dalam satu tahun setiap bulan April dan bulan September, jurnal aksara ini dapat diakses pembaca, jurnal aksara ini berisi hasil penelitian pustaka maupun hasil penelitian lapangan. Jurnal ini meliputi beberapa ranah Ilmu sebagai berikut: 1. Kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia meliputi bidang pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa, pembelajaran linguistik, pembelajaran semantik, pembelajaran pragmatik, pembelajaran wacana, pembelajaran sosiolinguistik, pembelajaran psikolinguistik serta pembelajaran puisi, pembelajaran prosa, pembelajaran fiksi, pembelajaran drama. 2. Kajian Bahasa Indonesia meliputi: fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, semantik, pragmatik, sosiolinguistik, psikolinguistik, bahasa dan budaya, dialektologi, dokumentasi bahasa, serta bidang keilmuan lain yang berkaitan dengan kajian kebahasaan. 3. Kajian Sastra Indonesia meliputi: sastra lisan dan sastra modern berupa kajian puisi, prosa fiksi dan drama.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the assessment of the performance of writing explanatory texts for class XI SMA Al Falah Jambi by looking at how the teacher designs, implements, and evaluates performance results in learning to write explanatory texts. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach. The subject of this research is the Indonesian class XI teacher. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation of the subject and object of research. The results showed that the teacher implemented a performance assessment guided by the lesson plan, the implementation of the performance assessment had been carried out well in accordance with the assessment development steps for the type of product and portfolio assessment, but there were obstacles in implementing the performance assessment experienced from internal and external factors. As a suggestion should use the appropriate assessment to measure the skills of learners effectively. So that more in-depth research needs to be done.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe the meaning contained in the short story Ibu yang Anaknya Diculik Itu by Seno Gumira Ajidarma by paying attention to the signs in the short story. The approach used is the semiotic approach of Charles Sanders Pierce. The method in this study used a qualitative descriptive method. The meaning of the sign according to Charles Sanders Pierce is the signifier (representament), object, and interpretant. Based on Pierce's concept of semiotics, the results of the study show the meaning of the signs found in the short story Ibu yang Anaknya Diculik Itu by Seno Gumira Ajidarma, which is about a mother who lost her child due to kidnapping by the authorities. Condemns the kidnappers and expresses his claim for the injustice of the fate of his son who does not know where and how he is doing. This short story reveals the socio-political criticism of the New Order regime, the many injustices experienced by the community over the political interests of the leaders. If someone whose existence is a threat to the rulers then they will do everything possible to eliminate his traces.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the meaning in the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang by looking at the signs in the novel. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. The source of this research is the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang. The data in this study are in the form of words in the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang about the signs in the novel. The theory used in this study is the semiotic concept of Charles Sanders Pierce. According to Charles Sanders Pierce in the process of meaning there are three stages, namely representament, object, and interpretant. Based on the signs that have been found, the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang has a meaning, namely death. From the meaning of this novel, it wants to describe social criticism. Where in this life we will face something that is certain, namely death. Everyone will experience it like it or not, and like it or not. Human awareness about death is still in the form of fear and anxiety. Suggestions for this research are that it is necessary to study more deeply and add data to strengthen the analysis. The researcher gives suggestions for further researchers who want to analyze using the object of the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang to use a different approach to add broader knowledge.

Abstract

Literature is inseparable from the values that exist in human life. Religious values play an important role in the life of religious people. This study aims to describe the religious values of the relationship between humans and God (Hablumminallah) in the Song Lyrics in ustaz Jefri Al Buchori's Khazanah Shalawat Album. This research uses a descriptive, qualitative method, which is to describe religious values. The source of this research data is the Song Lyrics in Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori's Khazanah Shalawat Album. Data analysis techniques are analyzing, interpreting, and drawing conclusions. As for the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the religious values related between humans and God in the Song Lyrics in Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori's Khazanah Shalawat Album cover four aspects and seventy-one quotes are found in the Song Lyrics in Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori's Khazanah Shalawat Album, among them, (1) Thirteen citations are found in the aspect of faith,  (2) Twenty-one quotations are found on the aspect of worship, (3) Two quotations are found on the aspect of gratitude and (4) Three quotations are found on the aspect of being patient.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the transformation of the poetry Seribu Kunang-Kunang di Jakarta by Joko Pinurbo into the short film Seribu Kunang-Kunang di Jakarta, based on  comparative literary study, as well as describing social criticism contained in the poetry and short film Seribu Kunang-Kunang di Jakart. In accordance with the objectives of the research,  it is known that there are two problems in this study, namely, (1) How is the process of transformation of the poetry Seribu Kunang-Kunang di Jakarta by Joko Pinurbo into a short film? and (2) How is the social criticism contained in the poetry and short film of Seribu Kunang-Kunang di Jakarta?. The source of this research is the poetry Seribu Kunang-Kunang di Jakarta by Joko Pinurbo with the short film Seribu Kunang-Kunang di Jakarta which was directed by Anindya Erviana Madalina on the YouTube channel "Tomat Batam". The poetry only uses words and sentences in the delivery process while the film contains audio and visual as supporting materials, so that researchers will  comparative literary study of the transformation of the two works, which will  known about the changes in the form of addition, change, as well as other variations that  presented during the transformation process. Assessment of the work is also carried out using  sociology of literature in the form of social criticism of the reality that occurs in the work.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the style of language in literary criticism for the meaning of literary works. Because the meaning of literary works cannot be separated from the style of language used in the criticized literary works. Researchers collected data through a poem by Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana entitled Segala, Segala. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a stylistic approach, then the data is analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction (data reduction), data display (data presentation), and conclusion drawing and verification (conclusion and verification. The results found are the use of The diction in it is simple so that it is easy for the reader to understand the meaning of the poem. It also includes the use of figure of speech pleonasm, tautology, personification, hyperbole, and repetition. Meanwhile, in the inner aspect of poetry the author presents it as if the reader is experiencing it. Alisjahbana's destiny chosen by the author contains a style of language to convey its implied message.As a suggestion, in this study data collection using a very simple method, it is very likely that future researchers can use other methods so that the results are more in-depth.

Abstract

This study is to examine how teachers perceive in utilizing the Merdeka Mengajar Platform launched by the Ministry of Culture and Education as a medium to support teachers in creating creative and innovative learning. The study used a phenomenological approach with descriptive qualitative methods. Data was collected by interview and research samples were taken using random sampling technique. The sample in this study were teachers in one of the elementary schools in Jambi City. The results show that teachers are helped by the Merdeka Mengajar Platform to understand the concept of an independent curriculum, but teachers have not made maximum use of the Merdeka Mengajar Platform, judging by the results of interviews which show that there are still many features of the Merdeka Mengajar Platform that have not been accessed by teachers.

Abstract

The directive speech act function in the conversation of PPL Students is often used. Directive utterances found, such as commanding, asking, solicitation, prohibition, advice, and questions. Therefore, this research aims to describe the function of command directive speech acts in conversations between PPL students and SMP Labor students on the telegram application of the SMP Labor group 15 – 28 September 2021 (a pragmatic study). The research method used is descriptive quantitative, and data collection techniques are carried out using screenshot techniques. The data in this study is in the form of utterances spoken by PPL students with SMP Labor students on the school’s group telegram application. Data in the form of speech that is included in the directive speech act. The data were analyzed using pragmatic analysis techniques. Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded that there is one data related to the function. The functions of directive speech acts are commands, requests, prohibitions, advice, and questions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze a contemporary poem entitled Rumahku yang Biru using a structuralism approach. This study uses a qualitative approach with the research method used in writing that is descriptive qualitative method. The object of this research is Arifin C. Noer's poem entitled Rumahku yang Biru. The results of this study indicate that the poem belongs to the type of contemporary poetry, this can be seen from the results of the study of the physical structure and inner structure that builds the poem. As a suggestion, this research can be investigated more deeply so that the results obtained are more accurate.

Abstract

This article discusses the literacy skills of the Jambi Malay Traditional Seloko in the Jambi society. Jambi Malay customary Seloko is a part of Jambi Malay oral literature which contains traditional expressions containing traditional words, proverbs, pantun, admonitions, and figurative words that contain messages and mandates to be conveyed from the Seloko presented. Customary Seloko of Jambi Malay is presented to find out how society can understand and apply the contents of the Jambi Malay Customary Seloko. The analysis of this research uses qualitative with a descriptive approach and data collection through observation and interview methods. The analysis results show that the Jambi society's ability to access information on the Jambi Malay Customary Seloko still needs to be improved. Of the 13 respondents who were asked, there were only two respondents who accessed via the internet, one respondent through books, and ten others through weddings and inauguration of village heads. In evaluation information, Customary Seloko of Jambi Malay was also in a bad state because of the 91 questions asked to the respondents, only 33 questions could be answered well. In contrast, 58 of them were answered incorrectly. At the same time, in terms of the use of information, Customary Seloko of Jambi Malay can be categorized as good because all respondents stated that they always try to actualize the message of Customary Seloko of Jambi Malay in their daily lives.
