Abstract

Marriage is a sacred thing both in religion and culture when a woman and a man become legally husband and wife after carrying out the marriage contract and fulfilling the requirements and pillars of religious marriage, but the Samin people have a single rule, one man and one woman can be declared as legal partners when they become husband and wife when they first have intercourse, this is known as the pasuwitan tradition. This wedding tradition is part of the Samin people's wedding customs, but over time, many Samin people have legalized their marital status through the KUA. The procedure for the traditional Samin wedding is carried out with the stages of nakokke, mbalesi gunem, ngendek, nyuwito, ngeger, paseksen and tingkepan. Along with the development and influence of the awareness of the government and Indonesian citizens regarding the registration of marriages in Blimbing Sambongrejo Village, most of the Samin natives have legally registered their marriages and have made changes to the procedure for marriage through summons and registration of marriages at the KUA in accordance with the law as citizens. Indonesia is responsible for carrying out the obligations of the Samin people.

Abstract

The age long tradition of Field-Based Excursion (FBE) is being eroded as effective learning strategy in secondary schools. This study considers investigating FBE and the teaching and learning of geography in some selected secondary schools in Akoko Southwest, Ondo State, Nigeria with a view to examining; the practice of FBE in the selected secondary schools,  students’ perceptions to FBE practice in secondary school, FBE and perceived relationship with geography subject, and FBE and learning impacts on secondary school students. The sample population consists of students of secondary school offering Geography as a subject in Akoko Southwest Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. Purposive sampling technique was adopted in selecting twelve (12) secondary schools, while ten (10) students each were randomly selected from sampled schools. This sample gave a total of one hundred and twenty (120) respondents in this study. Learning and Excursion Questionnaire (LEQ) was built using four points Likert scale with Mean Weight Values (MWV) and Grand Mean Value (GMV) for perception analysis. The decision states, accept the perception if the MWV is greater than the MWV; and reject, if otherwise. Results show that; responses denote excursion is no longer part of school curriculum, group excursion could be a preferred mode of FBE for optimum productivity, all aspects of  geography require FBE for better understanding” was ranked 1st on MWV=3.55, which signifies high level of relationship,  It is worthy of note that significant impacts of FBE has far enriching impacts on students’ learning habits.  The study concludes that efforts are needed to reintroduce FBE for quality educational delivery. It therefore recommends that there should be a reintroduction of FBE into secondary school curriculum so it can be made compulsory for students. Government and stakeholder at different levels should ensure adequate sponsor of FBE to bridge the cap for less privileged students. Teachers should introduce field-based approach to teaching methods.

Abstract

Through this activity, disaster volunteers in Surakarta City can conduct disaster risk reduction (DRR) efforts based on ecosystem data and information management. Climate change has an increasing impact on ecosystems, resulting in environmental damage, thereby increasing the intensity of disaster events that need to be studied and monitored. Managing this disaster risk data and information requires using an environmental information system for ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction (ECO-DRR). The capacity of volunteers is vital in dealing with the risks of natural disasters and the impact of climate change by using SIL. Currently, volunteers manage using a form that has yet to accompany the presentation of information for decision-making and management of disaster risk knowledge. Requires remedial action by increasing the ability of volunteers to manage disaster risk data and information, report disaster events, and present them in dashboards. The method used is the parameters for development of SIL as a solution for ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction (ECO-PRB). The parameters were conducted on the topics of disaster risk, disaster incident reporting, and dashboard information management. The development of ECO-DRR SIL uses Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to obtain information on improvements in developing a user-based digital platform.
