Abstract

Decentralization has reinforced the development paradigm based on the geographical characteristics of the region (endegenous development). Bengkalis Regency is one of the regencies with varied regional shapes, so it is necessary to study the disparity in development levels based on their geographical characteristics. Composite index and discriminant analysis were used to examine the disparity and factors that determine the level of regional development. The results showed that the level of development of rural areas in Bengkalis Regency was predominantly low 62.58%, medium 23.23% and high 14.19%. The level of development of the plain area is higher than that of the coastal area, Bengkalis Island and Rupat Island. Population growth, population density and the number of cellular operator services that can reach are the variables that determine disparity in regional development in Bengkalis Regency.

Abstract

The widespread use of gadgets in the digital era has had positive and negative impacts on society, especially the younger generation. In Adultari Village, residents are concerned about the negative impacts of excessive use of gadgets. Therefore, this Community Service activity aims to increase digital awareness through socializing the impact of using gadgets in the digital era and managing reading corners as alternative activities that are more positive for the community. The methods used in this activity include observation, interviews, and identifying problems faced related to gadget use. The results of this activity include education and evaluation carried out through question and answer sessions during socialization with measurements based on audience understanding. It is hoped that with the reading corner, people, especially children and teenagers, can use gadgets wisely and utilize technology for more productive activities. This activity aims to form a generation that is more critical, knowledgeable and wise in facing challenges in the digital era.

Abstract

This community service aims to strengthen the integrated ecoliteracy profile of Pancasila students among elementary school teachers. The implementation of this activity refers to the achievement of SDGs 4 and 13, namely quality education and handling climate change. A series of activities were carried out in the form of training and mentoring. Through this program, the level of understanding of teachers about ecological environmental concerns increased from 50% to 74% as shown by the test results. The methods applied include interactive workshops and also making projects in the form of an integrated ecoliteracy activity book of Pancasila student profiles. This program was implemented for one month in cluster 1 Poncokusumo, Malang Regency involving 50 teachers. The implementation of this activity is expected to create a generation that is not only academically smart but also has a strong character in implementing the values of Pancasila and environmental awareness for sustainable life.

Abstract

Interactive learning media is one of the supporting components of learning activities to be more interactive and innovative, digital-based learning in the form of interactive games in the current era is very useful as a support for education, with the existence of interactive game learning media can stimulate children's interest in learning more quickly, therefore it is necessary to increase human resources for teachers of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Ulum Kuantan Sako Village to provide insight and understanding in building interactive games using wordwalls. The results of this community service activity are in the form of interactive learning media in the form of games in the form of quizzes, wordsearch, to anagrams, this game can later be used by students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Ulum Kuantan Sako Village with the aim of improving learning in the classroom so that the learning process is not boring and becomes more enjoyable.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is the ability to understand, analyze, and interpret the information contained in written texts. Innovative and student-centered teaching methods, such as discovery learning, are needed. Discovery learning is a student-centered learning method where students actively engage in the process of discovering concepts or understanding through exploration, experimentation, and problem-solving. This research employs the Classroom Action Research method, with 40 students as subjects. The implementation is carried out in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. The results of the study show that in the first cycle, the average score of students was 69.1, with a graduation rate of 60%, indicating a need for improvement in the learning process. After implementing improvement strategies in the second cycle, the average score increased to 87.4, with a graduation rate reaching 90%. Thus, the application of the discovery learning method significantly enhances students' reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

Bencana dapat mengancam kehidupan sosial dan memerlukan penanganan yang terstruktur terutama di bangunan tinggi seperti Museum Perkebunan Indonesia 2 di Medan. Museum ini perlu dilengkapi dengan jalur evakuasi yang jelas untuk mengurangi risiko saat terjadi bencana alam atau non-alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan memetakan jalur evakuasi bencana di Gedung Museum Perkebunan Indonesia 2 Medan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pendekatan kualitatif, survei lapangan, analisis perencanaan kebencanaan, dan wawancara dengan pihak terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gedung ini belum sepenuhnya memiliki jalur evakuasi yang sesuai dengan peraturan kebencanaan yang berlaku. Jalur-jalur evakuasi yang diidentifikasi mencakup tangga, pintu keluar, dan jalur keluar alternatif yang dapat digunakan dalam berbagai skenario bencana. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi beberapa area yang memerlukan perbaikan atau peningkatan dalam hal keamanan dan aksesibilitas evakuasi. Temuan penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar untuk perbaikan dan peningkatan rencana kebencanaan di Gedung Museum Perkebunan Indonesia 2 Medan.

Abstract

Many farmers Banjarwaru complain that goat growth is less than optimal, and low productivity. Based on these problems, this community service program aims to ensure that farmers understand and are able to manage goat farms according to standards independently. The method used in this community service program is to look at achievement indicators from socialization activities and cage management training and animal health recording. Based on the achievement indicators from this activity, it shows that 100% of the 20 breeders understand livestock management, housing, and the correct way to record livestock health. A total of 15 people have been able to use maintenance tools and techniques for handling diseases infected by livestock. Based on the results of the achievement indicators obtained from this service activity, it was concluded that breeders in Banjarwaru Village knew and understood the correct way to raise goats and were able to carry out maintenance activities according to good standards.

Abstract

The cancel culture phenomenon that can be found in digital society is that individuals such as public figures, groups or brands can be exposed to social exclusion, criticism and even massive boycotts on social media. A phenomenon often found on platforms  Cancel culture occurs due to the composition of the rapid dissemination of information and the influence of developing public opinion plus algorithms that apply it until content goes viral on social media. In this digital era of connectivity, local phenomena can become global issues, the Cancel culture effect is a consequence that cannot be avoided by individuals or groups and a company brand.  Research with communication, social, cultural and psychological approaches, as well as duality analysis of Cancel cultural phenomena as social control or giving rise to injustice and freedom of expression. The literature study approach allowed Cancel culture to be found in several cases in Indonesia, especially involving health figures such as Dr. Richard Lee and detective doctor content on TikTok, as well as raising the issue of overclaimed Skincare products and Skincare products that are thought to be dangerous.  The concept of "canceling" in Cancel culture is a social media phenomenon that has emerged regarding Skincare which is suspected of being overclaimed and dangerous Skincare which is considered to violate norms or is inappropriate by the general and digital public. This phenomenon contributes to opinions and opinions in the form of hashtags and triggers the emergence of the phenomenon of conformity and spiral of silence in society which can pave the way for further research.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the church in addressing Domestic Violence (DV) behavior from a theological perspective. DV encompasses physical, sexual, psychological abuse, and neglect within the household, which often occurs in Christian families where women frequently become victims. Although DV cases continue to increase, the church’s role in addressing this issue remains limited. This study employs a literature review method to analyze Biblical perspectives and various research findings on the church’s role in addressing DV. The findings indicate that DV constitutes a violation of human rights and individual dignity, contrary to Christian teachings on love, respect, and responsibility. The church plays a crucial role in providing moral support and counseling for families facing DV. The church can take proactive steps through premarital counseling, marriage counseling, and family recovery seminars to prevent and address DV within the Christian community, underscoring the importance of protection for victims and church support in the recovery process for families affected by DV.

Abstract

Legalization of customary forests is an effective way to resolve social conflicts within customary forest areas and grant access and management rights to Indigenous communities, thereby improving their welfare. This study analyzes the efforts to legalize Customary Forests in North Lombok Regency (KLU). The research method used is the legal empirical research method conducted from May to September 2024. Data were collected through observation, interviews and literature study. Interview informants were selected using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that efforts to legalize Customary Forest in KLU have only reached the process of legalization of the legal subject, namely the Customary Law Community (MHA). The process of legalization of MHA has started since the existence of KLU Regional Regulation No. 6 of 2020. Based on the identification results of the KLU MHA Identification Team, there are 43 (forty-three) Customary Forest areas in KLU. Four (4) of these areas are located within the Forest Estate. The forty-three Customary Forests are located in five (5) Customary Law Community units. The process of establishing these Customary Forests was supported by many parties including customary stakeholders, communities, and social institutions.
