Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the compliance of patients take diabetes mellitus medicine by gave posters at Simpang Empat 1 public health center district Banjar. This study used a quasi-experimental method with cross sectional approach and prospective patient data collection. The samples diabetes mellitus patients treated at Simpang Empat 1 Health Center district Banjarin, namely as many as 338 patients. The results of this study showed that the group that was given a poster showed high results of compliance, with percentage 70.6%, in the group that was not given a poster resulted in low compliance as many as with percentage 41.2%. The results of the Mann-Whitney analysis p-value = 0.039 (<? = 0.05). The relationship between poster administration and medication compliance was shown by the Chi-Square analysis p-value = 0.037 (<?= 0.05). Base on this analysis, there are difference in drug compliance in the group give the poster with the group that is not give the poster. It can be conclud that there are a correlation between medication compliance in diabetes mellitus patients at the Simpang Empat 1 Public Health Center, District Banjar.

Abstract

Hepatitis B is inflammation of the liver caused by the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). HBV is a DNA virus that plays a role in virus replication through the process of reverse transcription. The curcuma rhizome against HBV reseptor with protein ID 1A7L and ID 1IUD using the Autodock Tools program. The 1A7L receptor showed that the curcumin compound had ?G of -8.05 kcal/mol and the value of inhibition constant (KI) of 1.26 µM, natural ligands had ?G of -8.17 kcal/mol and the value of KI was 1.03 µM, and Lamivudin as a comparative ligand had ?G of -7.02 kcal/mol and the value of the KI was 7.13 µM, while the result of the 1IUD receptor had ?G of -8.44 kcal/mol and KI value of 647.75 nM, natural ligand had ?G of -6.90 kcal/mol and KI value of 8.78 µM, and Lamivudin as a comparative ligand had ?G of -5.01 kcal/mol and the value of the KI was 211.47 nM. The absorption and distribution prediction results showed the curcumin compound had a Caco2 value of 20.07 nm sec-1, the percentage of HIA was 94.40% and plasma Binding Protein was 88.03%. The curcumin compound fulfills all Lipinski's is non-mutagenic and carcinogenic negative.

Abstract

TB (Tuberculosis) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosa. Treatment of patiens with regular administration of drugs is done for six months to get healed. The cause of TB treatment failure is the patient forgets to take medication which results in dropping out. Drug service using KOPI TB is a method of TB drugs administration with reminder box to remind patient to take TB medicines that are taken home. This study aims to determine the benefits of innovative drug services using KOPI TB. This research is a quantitative descriptive with prospective data collection using 13 TB patient treatment data in year 2018. The results of this study indicate that there was an increase in the patient cure rate which is 93%, while the rate before innovation was only 86%. The use of KOPI TB also increases the efficiency of TB drugs which the need for TB patient is 13 boxes, while the drugs used was only 12 boxes which is saving 1 box of TB drugs. The conclusion of this study is the innovation of drug services using KOPI TB increases the cure rate of patients and the efficiency of the number of TB drugs used in the Puskesmas.

Abstract

Bitter melon (Momordica charantia L) is a plant known to stimulate hair growth. Bitter melon leaves can be extracted and used as a component in pomade preparations for hair care. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of pomade preparations from ethanol extract of bitter melon leaves on hair growth of male white rats. The pomade formula for ethanol extract of bitter melon that was tested as a hair grower was a pomade containing extract of bitter melon, each F0 = 0%, F1 = 8%, F2 = 10%, and F3 = 12%. Hair growth activity of pomade ethanol extract of bitter gourd was determined by calculating the hair length of rats for each group. From the test results, it was found that the average hair length on day 18 for each group of test preparations were F0 (0.72 cm), F1 (0.86 cm), F2 (0.95 cm), F3 (1 .36 cm), and Minoxidil (1.28 cm). Pomade preparations with formulas F1, F2, F3 had hair growth activity and F3 with a concentration of 12% bitter melon leaf ethanol extract had the best hair growth activity compared to other formulas.

Abstract

Avocado leaves has known to have antibacterial activity. This study aim to determine the antibacterial activity of avocado leaf juice and ethanol extract against S. epidermidis bacteria. Antibacterial activity tests were carried out using juice and ethanol extract of avocado leaves at concentrations of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, positive control ciprofloxacin 5µg/disk, sterile distilled water negative control, 96% ethanol solvent control. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using Mann Whitney. The inhibition zones formed were categorized according to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute. Avocado leaf ethanol extract had antibacterial activity against S. epidermidis bacteria at concentrations of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% of 7.68±0.16mm; 7.54±0.02 mm; 7.89±0.21mm; 8.18±0.04 mm and 8.50±0.28 mm with the category of resistance. The diameter of the ciprofloxacin inhibition zone was 35.98±0.03mm with a sensitive category. Statistically, avocado leaf ethanol extract had a significant difference to ciprofloxacin, avocado leaf juice had no antibacterial effect at all concentrations. The conclusion of the study, avocado leaf juice did not have antibacterial activity, while the ethanol extract of avocado leaves had antibacterial activity against S. epidermidis bacteria, but its potency was not comparable to ciprofloxacin in inhibiting the growth of S. epidermidis bacteria.

Abstract

Patients suffering from tuberculosis often experience failure in therapy, due to non-adherence to taking medication. An important factor in improving medication adherence is the presence of family support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and medication adherence in pulmonary tuberculosis patients at the Public Health Center Central Banjarmasin area. The research method uses a cross sectional approach. The time of the study was carried out in May - July 2018. The sample of this study from January-April 2018 who treated pulmonary TB were 77 people. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling/total sampling, so the sample obtained was 33 people. The research instrument using a questionnaire was analyzed using correlation analysis using the Chi-Square test (a<0.05). Based on the results of the study showed that the results of the correlation test showed 0.000 <0.05. This shows that there is a strong relationship between family support and medication adherence in pulmonary tuberculosis patients at the Public Health Center Central Banjarmasin area.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is one of the third highest chronic diseases in the world after hypertension. Diabetes mellitus is the highest disease in the Pioneer Pharmacy Kuripan Banjarmasin. The potential for interaction occurs when a patient takes two or more drugs at the same time with the effect of the interaction being beneficial or harmful or even harmful. This study aims to evaluate the potential interactions of oral antidiabetic drugs for the period January - December 2020. This type of research is non-experimental with retrospective data collection. The number of population according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria was 784 prescription sheets from 1,015 prescription sheets. Samples were calculated using the lameshow formula and proportional random sampling technique. The instrument used is an observation sheet. The data were analyzed using the online Medscape drug interaction checker 2021 literature and the Drug Interaction Fact 2010 literature. The results showed that the number of drug combinations with potential interactions based on the mechanism of action was 149 (39.52%) and based on pharmacodynamics 74 (48.05%), pharmacokinetics 33 (21.43%), and 47 or 30.52 unknowns. %. Meanwhile, based on severity, serious 1 (0.65%), moderate 121 (78.57%), minor 32 (20.78%).

Abstract

Eleutherine palmifolia (L.) Merr. Is one of the typical Central Kalimantan plants that has been hereditary used by Dayak people as traditional medicine. Generally, only parts of dayak onion bulbs are used while the onion leaves are often discarded and rarely used. Dayak onion leaves contain chemical compounds that are efficacious as antimicrobials namely alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, phenols, tannins, triterpenoids and steroids.This type of research is experimental. Using the paper disc diffusion. The purpose of this study was to determine the antifungal activity of 70% ethanol extract of onion leaves on the growth of albicans candida fungi. Eleutherine palmifolia (L.) Merr leaves originating from the Palagka Raya City area of ??Central Borneo. The sample in this study was 70% ethanol extract. The results of this study can be concluded that 70% ethanol extract of dayak onion leaves has activity on the growth of Candida albicans. The diameter of the inhibitory zone in 70% ethanol extract of dayak onion leaves was obtained at a concentration of 100% 21.6 mm, a concentration of 80% 17.45 mm, a concentration of 60% 13.35 mm, a concentration of 40% 10.67mm, concentration 20% 8.35 mm.

Abstract

Sengkuang Dracontomelon dao (Blanco) Merr & Rolfe is a plant that has secondary metabolites tannins and flavonoids which are thought to have anti-diarrheal activity. The purpose of this study to determine activity and dose of ethanol extract of the stem bark of Dracontomelon dao (Blanco) Merr & Rolfe which has antidiarrheal effect on male white mice (Mus musculus). The antidiarrheal activity test was using the diarrhea protection method, where mice were induced by 0.75 mL of oleum ricini orally, 1 hour later the test solution was given i.e. 0.5% Na CMC suspension (negative control), loperamid 0.26 mg/kg bw (positive control), dose of sengkuang stem bark ethanol extract 100 mg/kg bw, 200 mg/ kg bw and 300 mg/kg bw. Then observed the onset of diarrhea, frequency of diarrhea, consistency of diarrhea, duration of diarrhea and weight of diarrhea every 30 minutes for 4 hours. The results is the ethanol extract of the stem bark Dracontomelon dao (Blanco) Merr & Rolfe at a dose of 100 mg/kg bw, 200 mg/kg bw and 300 mg/kg bw has antidiarrheal activity as indicated by a significant difference in the test group (control positive and all extracts) against the negative control group (p <0.05).

Abstract

Sawo (Manilkara zapota (L.)) is one of the plants that can be used in traditional medicine. Sawo bark contains secondary metabolites of flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and phenolics. This study aims to determine the total flavonoid content in the ethanol extract of sapodilla stem bark. Determination of total flavonoid content using a colorimetric method using AlCl3 reagent. Determination of total flavonoid using UV Visible Spectrophotometry at a maximum wavelength of 417.50 nm and total flavonoid expressed in QE (Quercetin Equivalent).. The results showed that the total flavonoid content contained in the ethanol extract of the Sawo Bark (Manilkara zapota (L.)) was 1,095 mgQE/g.
