Abstract

The Shibori Sidomaju elderly group is a community that actively produces and sells shibori cloth. As the Shibori Batik business develops, there are many conflicts of interest between members. The management chairman committed fraud by taking over all the assets owned by the community, so the village government took over the management. This community service aims to transfer knowledge regarding institutional strengthening through management reorganization by establishing articles of association, by-laws, and organizational structure. The approach to community service activities used is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) in counseling, mentoring, and training. The target community is the administrators and members of the Batik Shibori Elderly group in Kenteng Village. The activities were carried out from July to August 2023. The results show that Shibori managers understand the importance of institutional legality and the Shibori organizational structure. The output of the activity was the article by law, which was agreed upon and approved by all Shibori members. On this occasion, an organizational structure was also agreed upon that reflects the primary duties of the management, members, and village government. The division of leading tasks and functions can increase the sense of responsibility, commitment, and loyalty. Awareness and understanding of leading tasks and functions are the keys to developing the Shibori business.

Abstract

The problem that occurs in Sanjai Tourism Village is inadequate internet access. Internet access is fundamental nowadays, both in daily activities and in the context of promotional activities for Tourism Villages to attract visitors. One of the aspects of assessing the Indonesian Tourism Village Award is digital creativity. To make this happen, it is necessary to have internet access that everyone can enjoy, including the community, visitors, and the Tourism Village group (Pokdarwis) in the Sanjai Tourism Village. Therefore, in Community Service activities, a Wi-Fi Coin system was designed to improve internet access in the Sanjai Tourism Village. The Wi-Fi Coin System uses coins to access the internet. In addition, the Wi-Fi Coin system can be portable for use in the desired location. The method used consists of three stages: preparation consisting of a survey and needs analysis to obtain data on community needs, especially the Sanjai Tourism Village Pokdarwis. The implementation consists of system design, testing, and implementation. System design and testing were carried out at the Unand Computer Engineering Department. Meanwhile, the implementation was done directly before the Pokdarwis team and the Village Community. Trials and equipment handover to the Sanjai Tourism Village Pokdarwis marked the activity results.

Abstract

The causes of diseases in the elderly come from within the body (endogenous), as this occurs due to a decline in the function of various organs inside the body, resulting in reduced production of hormones, enzymes, and substances needed for the immune system. Providing related activities in the form of health checks for older people and the formation of elderly cadres is expected to impact improving the health of older people. This activity aims to provide community service by conducting health checks and forming Melati elderly cadres in the Sungai Buluh Selatan Village. The method of this activity is to perform health checks, including blood pressure, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, and uric acid checks, followed by providing education related to the examination results and the formation of Melati elderly cadres. Abstract

The increasing prevalence of cybersex behavior among adolescents presents a growing concern, with potential risks to their physical and mental health. The ease of access and low cost associated with this behavior contribute to its proliferation. Based on interviews with students from X High School in Pariaman, it was found that a significant portion of the student population accesses pornography on the internet when exposed to online advertisements and during casual browsing. The primary objective of this initiative is to nurture a generation of digitally aware youth by enhancing their knowledge and shaping healthier attitudes regarding cybersex. The location of the activities was SMA X Pariaman City. A combination of active and passive approaches was employed. Active methods involved delivering lectures with prepared materials and informative video presentations. Passively, students were provided with informational leaflets and banners placed strategically in the school environment. Pre-test and post-test questionnaires were administered to gauge the effectiveness of the materials and videos in influencing participants' knowledge and attitudes. Statistical analysis, including the Wilcoxon test and Gain Score, reveals a notable increase in expertise and confirms the effectiveness of the counseling efforts. In summary, this program effectively enhances knowledge and attitudes about cybersex among adolescents, marking a significant step in addressing this pressing issue.

Abstract

There are still many plant species that the public currently needs to be made aware. It is because the uses of plants still need to be well explored, which has left them with little practical usefulness. The potential of these plants can be utilized as a tool in educational media and as items with creative and unique value in the commercial sector. Carnivorous plants are among them. In addition to having unique shapes, art enthusiasts can use this plant to turn their interests and skills into terrarium products. TERRAVOR is an innovative terrarium product with carnivorous plants as the main ingredient. This product specializes in carnivorous plants found in the Sumatra region to educate the public regarding the sustainable use of these plants and their status in nature so that the use value of these plants can be maintained for an extended period.
