Abstract

In early 2020, the terminology of who is a tourist has become a debate again when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out. The question arises whether the locals "deserve" the title "tourists"? Whether they are included in the category of domestic tourists? Are they categorized as tourist? With the rapid development of the understanding of this terminology, several questions have arisen that have led to the calculation of the number and distribution of tourists in travel destinations. Therefore, this work aims to unravel the tangled threads using the basic conceptual approach of tourism terminology. The literature study method is carried out by bibliometric examination. Hopefully this article provides a clearer construction to reduce confusion over the use of the term "tourist".

Abstract

One of the strategic efforts in maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty can be done by maintaining service quality. Service quality can be defined as the level of guest or consumer satisfaction. The level of guest satisfaction is obtained from the comparison of real services received by visitors, with the previously expected quality values. This research will explore the extent of tourists' perceptions of the quality of Bali destinations. The respondents who will provide information in this study are tourists who meet the requirements as respondents to be able to fill in and provide the information needed when filling out the questionnaire. There were 200 respondents with a composition of 200 domestic tourists and 100 foreign tourists. The results showed that domestic tourists and foreign tourists have different levels of satisfaction and performance appraisals. As a recommendation, the result of this study could be considered as an evaluation of the quality of tourism destinations in Bali.

Abstract

Ubud is one of the world's tourist destinations in Gianyar Regency, Bali. Ubud has a wellpreserved artistic and cultural attraction. The number of tourist visits to Ubud continues to increase every year and is directly proportional to the increase in the number of homestay accommodations. In addition to the growing number of tourists and homestays, another interesting thing to observe about Ubud as a tourist destination is news about traffic jams and damaged infrastructure. This study aims to determine the characteristics of tourists staying at homestays in Ubud and tourists' perceptions of Ubud as a tourist destination. The data collection technique used is through distributing questionnaires. The research approach used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Respondents in this study were tourists who stayed at homestays as many as 319 respondents. Tourists' perceptions of Ubud as a tourist destination are rated not good and quite good. The point that gets a bad rating is that the roads in Ubud can be passed smoothly.
