Abstract

Purpose – This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to empower Orbit through Integrated Multichannel Marketing Training by integrating online (social media, marketplace) and offline (exhibitions, local networks) marketing strategies. Design/methodology/approach – The program was implemented using a participatory approach, encompassing outreach and needs mapping, comprehensive training, guided technology implementation, mentoring, and strengthening program sustainability. The training focused on digital marketing skills, simple business management, and product branding. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests, post-tests, observation, and documentation. Findings – Results showed significant improvements in participants' understanding and skills, with the average score increasing from 61.2 to 86.5 after the training. Participants were able to create business accounts, manage online stores in marketplaces, and produce simple, engaging promotional content. The program also generated follow-on impacts such as the formation of an internal learning community, the emergence of local champions as peer mentors, and increased market reach for products for people with disabilities. Originality/value – Overall, this PKM activity strengthens the capacity of disability organizations in marketing, encourages economic independence, and increases socio-economic inclusion in Tuban Regency.

Abstract

Purpose – Participants can improve their skills in creating wastra paintings on tote bags using sustainable tamarind materials. Design/methodology/approach – The service method is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD). There were 42 participants who took part in this training from various countries. They come from Loughborough University in England. This activity need six stages from preparation starts in June 2025 to implementation on October 29, 2025. The location in the open area on the 2nd floor of the School of Design and Creative Arts building. Findings – As a result of these social services, participants improved their practical skills, as evidenced by the fact that as many as 42 works of painting were created on tote bags. The visual forms created mostly contain floral objects, basic geometric shapes, and everyday objects. The colors that appear are the colors resulting from the mixture, so that the colors on the visual object are very attractive, from light colors to gradations towards darker colors. This is because their background is from a part of the textile sector. Originality/value – The originality of this social service is that international community service can be a bridge for cultural diplomacy. The important point of this service is that Indonesia attention to sustainable environmental issues.

Abstract

Purpose –This community service aims to increase maggot production through innovative Internet of Things (IoT) based monitoring systems and post-harvest maggot processing using chopping machines and maggot drying machines. Design/methodology/approach – The method used in this community service program consists of the socialization stage, training stage, and mentoring stage for Maggot cultivator partners. Findings – Implementation of this technology can increase production efficiency, harvest quality, and selling value of dried maggot products, thereby helping to reduce waste and improve the economy of maggot cultivators. Partners understand the process of digital product marketing via social media and obtain a Business Identification Number (NIB). Originality/value –This community service program has never been carried out with program partners, so it focuses on the field of machine training and information technology as well as the field of digital marketing.

Abstract

Purpose –The aim of activity to increase understanding of Karangsono Village community in managing waste independently at home and optimizing the role of waste banks and WDS as places for sustainable final waste management through digital technology. Design/methodology/approach – The program implementation stages include socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The waste management system is centralized within the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDES) in Karangsono. Findings – According to the activity's results, 95%, 86%, 73%, and 93% respondents respectively, have increased their knowledge of how to distinguish, sort, and properly manage waste. Additionally, 69%, 82%, 78%, 89%, 78%, and 76% respondents have increased their awareness of how to manage household waste, use plastic bags, recycle plastic waste, and avoid piling up waste at home. Finally, 89%, 95%, 84%, 93%, 86%, 84%, and 86% respondents have an impact on aspects of village environment. The Owned Enterprise manages a Waste Bank and Waste Disposal Site (WDS) to facilitate direct waste management by collecting waste from the community. In addition to WDS, there are waste banks that manage dry waste through a savings system similar to that used in financial institutions. Originality/value – Digital technology in the form of WhatsApp Bots helps improve the efficiency of integrated waste management system at WDS and waste banks.

Abstract

Purpose – This community service activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the effectiveness of production and professionalism of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jatisari Village, Tajinan District, Malang Regency. Design/methodology/approach – The program is implemented through educational and mentoring activities covering three main aspects: inventory management and strategies for determining the right target market. The community service team conducts a needs analysis through interviews with village officials and MSMEs, then provides education, learning modules, and entrepreneurial tips to improve production effectiveness and competitiveness. Findings – The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the importance of inventory recording systems and production planning, although there are still challenges in implementing digital technology. Originality/value – This program is a concrete step in supporting village economic independence by increasing the capacity of local business actors, especially in Malang Regency.

Abstract

Purpose – This community service activity aims to address the procedural information gap regarding the Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) Kuliah program and enhance fund management skills for Grade XII high school/vocational students and Guidance Counselors (BK Teachers) in the Bandung Raya region. The intervention is designed to ensure students have both access to higher education opportunities and essential fund management competencies Design/methodology/approach – The program was implemented using an experiential learning-based workshop model integrating offline and online sessions (blended approach), which involved practical simulation of the KIP Kuliah system application. Effectiveness was measured quantitatively through pre-tests and post-tests across two dimensions: KIP Kuliah Access and Financial Management Findings – Evaluation results showed a significant increase in understanding. KIP Kuliah Access Understanding increased by 43.1% (mean score from 2.51 to 4.02), and Financial Management Understanding increased by 38.8% (mean score from 2.38 to 3.86). This increase validates the program's success in bridging the information gap and providing applied solutions for the partners Originality/value – The program offers an original contribution by providing an integrated intervention that combines procedural problem solutions (KIP Kuliah Access) and managerial solutions (Financial Literacy) within a single experiential framework. Furthermore, the activity successfully strengthened the capacity building of Guidance Counselors, positioning them as sustainable change agents at the school level to better support students' study continuity

Abstract

Purpose – This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of MSME actors in Sungai Rebo Village in utilizing digital marketing through e-commerce platforms to address limited market access, low digital literacy, and inadequate skills in creating promotional content. The program is designed to expand marketing reach, increase the added value of local products, and strengthen the village’s economic independence. Design/methodology/approach – The activities were implemented through five stages: socialization, training on digital marketing and content creation, technology implementation through hands-on practice in creating e-commerce accounts, continuous mentoring, and evaluation of competency improvement using pretest and posttest assessments. Findings – The results indicate a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and skills in managing online stores, uploading products, and utilizing digital promotion features. The paired sample t-test confirmed a meaningful difference between pretest and posttest scores, demonstrating the effectiveness of the training. Participants successfully created Shopee store accounts and began developing their digital product showcases. Originality/value –This program provides a tangible contribution to supporting digital transformation among village-based MSMEs through practical approaches and direct mentoring. Its novelty lies in integrating e-commerce training with simple promotional content creation techniques that are accessible to rural MSMEs. The program aligns with several SDGs, including poverty reduction, economic growth, and innovation.

Abstract

Purpose – This community engagement research aims to increase entrepreneur understanding of the importance of halal certification, provide practical assistance in document preparation and certification prosedures, and foster synergy among lectures, students, and relevant institutions in supporting the development of halal ecosystem. Design/methodology/approach – The study employed an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, involving 25 food and processed product enterprises as participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and cocumentation, and analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. Findings – The findings indicate a significant improvement in bussines actors awaranes and readiness ro apply for halal certication. Originality/value – The collaborative mentoring model based on the ABCD approach is effective in accelerating the adoption of halal certification and fostering a sustainable local halal ecosystem.

Abstract

Purpose – This community service aims to improve the knowledge, skills, and soft skills of female adolescents in conducting early detection of breast cancer through breast self-examination (BSE), enabling them to perform it independently at home and respond appropriately when symptoms are found, thereby contributing to the reduction of breast cancer incidence. Design/methodology/approach – The activity was carried out in several stages: initial pre-test, followed by education and hands-on training on BSE, and concluded with a post-test to assess the improvement in participants' knowledge. Findings – The results of the community service showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge of BSE as a breast cancer prevention effort. Before the intervention, approximately 70% of participants had good knowledge, which increased to 100% after the program. This represents a 30% increase, exceeding the ≥20% effectiveness benchmark, indicating the intervention was highly effective, with more than 80% of female adolescents demonstrating good knowledge. Originality/value – The BSE education and training activity for high school female students has significant implications for increasing early breast cancer detection awareness through a school-based, participatory, and combined method approach, offering a novel, relevant, and practical strategy for implementation among adolescents from an early age.

Abstract

Purpose – This community service activity aims to improve students writing literacy skills through training in logical and creative biography writing at SMAN 1 Kota Malang, while also producing sustainable literacy-based outputs for the school Design/methodology/approach – The program is designed using a participatory action-based training approach that combines a genre-based approach, the writing process, and project-based learning. Activities include conceptual training, guided writing exercises, in-person and online revision support, as well as the curation and publication of works in both print and digital ISBN-registered books Findings – The training demonstrated improvements in the quality of students’ writing in terms of text structure, logical chronology, integration of factual data, and linguistic creativity. The outcome a 256-page biography with an ISBN serves as evidence of the program’s success and has led to increased motivation to write, greater student confidence, and the strengthening of the school’s culture of literacy. Originality/value – The novelty of this programme lies in the integration of genre-based and process-based training with official publications as the school's collective literacy products. This model not only improves writing skills, but also builds a collaborative, documented literacy ecosystem that has the potential to be replicated in other schools.
