Abstract

Purpose – The aim of the PKM activity is to strengthen the professional competence of Christian teachers as agents of strengthening anti-violence character in schools in Tenalai Village, Landu Leko District, Rote Ndao Regency. Design/methodology/approach –The PKM activity used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, discussing the implementation of anti-violence values ​​with Christian teachers and other school staff. The collected data was then processed and analyzed reductively. Findings – The results of the Community Service Program activities show that Christian teachers at Tenalai Village School, Landu Leko District, Rote Ndao Regency who have mastered professional competencies are required to: (1) Design lesson materials, manage, and evaluate learning that contains anti-violence values; (2) Be able to apply science and technology in learning to strengthen anti-violence characters; (3) Be able to develop interactive learning skills to make every member of the school aware of the benefits of realizing an anti-violence character. Living these three indicators as an approach that is able to strengthen an anti-violence character, which is useful in providing a sense of security, comfort, order, justice, solidarity, and love in carrying out various activities. Originality/value – The implications and novelty of this PKM activity is to open the horizons of Christian teachers that mastery of professional competencies is not only limited to the theoretical realm for strengthening anti-violence character, but professionally can collaborate with various human resources in the school environment, in order to disseminate anti-violence character education in schools.

Abstract

Purpose – Purun is utilized as a raw material for handicrafts in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The challenges in production and marketing remain obstacles of handicraft small enterprises. The drying process still depends on climate. Futhermore, product designs tend to be mundane, lack of colour, pattern and innovation. Then, artisans generally sell only to middlemen, resulting in low bargaining power. This community programme to enhance the artisans’ capacity. Design/methodology/approach –The programme was implemented with Rude Gebol Djuai through five activities: socialisation; preparation for training activities;  technology implementation in the form of a steel drying rack, accompanied by decoupage practice; mentoring in product development and digital marketing; and evaluation conducted through observation, discussion, and post-test. The artisans as co-implementers by contributing local knowledge, producing innovative products, and applying digital marketing. Findings – The results indicate significant improvements in artisans’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes after participating in the training (Wilcoxon test, p<0.05). Product outputs became more varied, while the drying facility supported a more orderly drying process and improved production continuity. Then, total revenue increased from IDR18,450,000 to IDR42,550,000. In addition, the adoption of e-commerce began to use. Originality/value – This programme can improving artisans’ income, empowering women, and promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Purpose – This community empowerment program aims to enhance the independence and productivity of the Mina Usaha Bahagia Fishery Group through the implementation of an appropriate technology innovation—a fish pellet extruder machine—combined with integrated business management training. Design/methodology/approach – The program employed a needs assessment, the design and installation of a pellet extruder machine, and a series of technical and managerial training activities. Evaluation was conducted by measuring changes in production capacity, cost efficiency, and sales performance before and after the intervention. Findings – The implementation of the pellet machine significantly improved production efficiency by reducing the time required to produce 10 kg of feed from 120 minutes to 35 minutes and lowering production costs to Rp 6,500 per kilogram. Production capacity increased threefold, with enhanced pellet uniformity. On the managerial side, members demonstrated improved competencies in financial management and digital marketing, contributing to a 52% increase in group income. The establishment of a visual business identity further strengthened the group’s branding and marketing effectiveness. Originality/value – This program provides a distinctive integration of managerial training and appropriate technology application, which collectively demonstrated substantial improvements in both technical and business aspects within a community-scale fishery enterprise.

Abstract

Purpose – This community service program aimed to improve household financial literacy among housewives and children in Urek-Urek Hamlet, Asrikaton Village, Pakis District, Malang Regency, through a community-based participatory strategies. Design/methodology/approach – The program adopted a community-based participatory approach involving PKK partners in all stages, from needs assessment to evaluation. Interactive training was delivered using contextual games (Belanja Bijak, Cerdas Cermat Hemat, and Tangkap Risiko), scenario-based discussions, and visual media, complemented by a session on safe gold investment as a simple long-term saving strategy. Findings – The approach generated high enthusiasm and active participation, with post-test results indicating a 41% improvement in financial literacy scores. Participants reported behavioral changes, including budgeting, expense recording, avoiding unplanned online loans, and initiating periodic gold saving. The formation of the “Ibu Cerdas Finansial” learning community and the integration of financial literacy into monthly PKK meetings demonstrated strong sustainability potential.Originality/value – This program uniquely combines participatory education, gamification, and culturally relevant financial practices through PKK networks, offering a replicable and scalable model for strengthening household financial resilience in rural communities.

Abstract

Purpose – This activity aims to enhance the partners’ capacity in managing, marketing, and developing Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) through a digitalization approach. Design/methodology/approach – The method employed in this program was Participatory Action Research (PAR), with activities consisting of product photography training, assistance in creating digital content, and guidance in establishing e-commerce accounts. The implementing team comprised lecturers and students from Yudharta University Pasuruan. The partners involved in this activity were micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and karang taruna in Ledug Village, Prigen Sub-district, Pasuruan Regency.. Findings – This community engagement activity successfully improved the partners’ skills in product photography, digital content creation, and the utilization of social media and online marketplaces, with an average evaluation score of 3.31 (categorized as good). However, challenges related to equipment, internet connectivity, and digital literacy were still encountered, indicating the need for further assistance. Originality/value – The originality of this activity lies in the product digitalization mentoring model, which holistically integrates product photography training, digital content development, and the utilization of e-commerce to enhance digital literacy, marketing skills, and partner independence in expanding the market access of local products.

Abstract

Purpose – To evaluate the effectiveness of a standardized anthropometry training program for Posyandu cadres in Dame I Village, Sitaro Regency, in improving knowledge and procedural compliance for anthropometric measurement and the classification of nutritional status among children under five. Design/methodology/approach – This Community Engagement Program employed a pre–post design without a comparison group. The intervention comprised didactic sessions, a work leaflet, instructor-led demonstrations, and guided practice. Knowledge was assessed immediately before and after training using a structured questionnaire; the Shapiro–Wilk test was applied to examine normality and pre–post differences were analyzed with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Skills were evaluated through direct observation of compliance with a 22-item checklist (preparation, weighing, length/height measurement, documentation, and interpretation of anthropometric indices). Participants were all available health cadres (n=10). Findings – Mean knowledge scores increased by 2.80 points (pre: 12.10 ± 1.663; post: 14.90 ± 0.316), yielding a statistically significant difference (p = 0.005) in bivariate analysis. All participants met 22/22 items on the procedural compliance checklist during the evaluation of anthropometric practice. These outcomes indicate improvements in cognitive and psychomotor capacities relevant to accurate anthropometric measurement and the classification of child nutritional status. Originality/value – The program emphasizes comprehensive standardization of anthropometric measurement in an island setting by integrating practical quality-assurance components (pocket SOP/leaflet, checklist, and an agenda for inter-rater alignment) into a single training package. The demonstrated, significant gains in knowledge and 100% procedural compliance underscore capacity building for cadres as a critical lever to improve nutrition data quality and accelerate early detection of stunting at the community level.

Abstract

Purpose –This community service program aims to enhance teachers’ competencies in managing inclusive classrooms and to strengthen learning strategies through a digital-based approach. Design/methodology/approach – The method used was a participatory design involving training, mentoring, workshops, and classroom practice. Data were collected using post-tests, observations, and documentation of learning products. Findings – The results show a significant improvement in teachers’ managerial competencies, where skills in developing digital modules, interactive quizzes, and adaptive assessments increased up to 85%. In the social aspect, teachers’ interaction skills rose to 90%, while parental involvement in supporting inclusive education increased to 82%. Originality/value – These findings indicate that the program not only enhanced teachers’ individual capacity but also built collective empowerment within the school ecosystem. In conclusion, the integration of digital innovation and social collaboration effectively strengthened inclusive practices, improved school empowerment levels, and created a sustainable model for inclusive education.

Abstract

Purpose –Improving da'wah strategies and management is essential to maintaining the Islamic values ​​of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah (Aswaja) amidst the challenges of globalization and the dynamics of the digital era. This community service research aims to strengthen the understanding of the Islamic Spiritual (Rohis) administrators of schools regarding the principles of Aswaja, develop innovative da'wah strategies, and improve organizational management to support the sustainability of da'wah activities Design/methodology/approach – The community service was carried out at SMK Tujuh Lima 1 and SMK Tujuh Lima 2 Purwokerto, using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method through interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and training. Findings –The FGD results showed a weak understanding of Aswaja among students, a lack of skills in utilizing digital media, and organizational management challenges in carrying out da'wah. The implementation of the Aswaja strengthening workshop provided an in-depth understanding of the principles of tawasuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), tawazun (balance), and i'tidal (justice). Organizational training helped Rohis administrators increase their capacity in managing the organization effectively, including planning impactful and sustainable work programs. Information technology utilization training equips Rohis administrators with digital content production skills, such as posters and preaching videos, as well as strategies for using social media to reach a wider audience Originality/value – The community service program is effective in strengthening the understanding, strategies, and da'wah skills of Rohis administrators, so that they are able to become agents of change that are moderate, inclusive, and relevant to the challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

Purpose – The purpose of this community service is to improve physical readiness, minimize injuries, and enhance player evaluation quality at Gumarang FC Medan by applying the RAMP warm-up protocol, implementing structured trial management, and using ONCE Sport performance analysis technology. Design/methodology/approach – The activities included socialization, theoretical and practical training, and direct implementation of the RAMP protocol and ONCE Sport technology during training and trial matches. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed descriptively to assess coaches' perceptions of the program's effectiveness. Findings – The results show that coaches perceive the RAMP protocol as highly effective (mean 4.56), easy to implement (mean 4.38), and effective in improving physical readiness (mean 4.63) and reducing the risk of injury (mean 4.75). ONCE Sport technology was considered useful (mean 4.44), fairly easy to use (mean 4.13), and very helpful in evaluating players (mean 4.50). RAMP improved agility, speed, and endurance, and ONCE Sport provided objective, data-based evaluations. Originality/value – This community service integrated evidence-based warm-up protocols and performance analysis technology into local soccer clubs. It provides a model that can be replicated by clubs with limited resources to improve training quality and player evaluation.

Abstract

Purpose – This community service program aims to transfer simple technology for producing liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from agricultural organic waste to farmers in Pasar Melintang Village, Deli Serdang Regency, in order to improve waste management practices and support sustainable agriculture. Design/methodology/approach – The program was implemented through extension activities, hands-on demonstrations of LOF production using simple composters, mentoring, and fermentation monitoring for 14 days. Participants consisted of 20 farmers engaged in rice and horticultural cultivation. Evaluation was conducted by observing farmers’ participation, their ability to independently produce LOF, and the successful fermentation process. Findings – The results show a significant increase in farmers’ knowledge and skills in processing agricultural waste into liquid organic fertilizer. The produced LOF exhibited good fermentation characteristics and was applied to paddy and horticultural crops, improving plant growth and soil conditions. Farmers also reported reduced dependence on chemical fertilizers and lower production costs. Community participation and independent use of composters indicate the sustainability of the program. Originality/value – This program demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating simple composting technology with participatory empowerment approaches to promote circular agriculture at the village level. It offers a practical model for managing agricultural waste while enhancing farmers’ capacity and environmental awareness.
