Abstract

Raising awareness of non-invasive screening of risk of prediabetes in productive age communities. Productive age groups of people are vulnerable to prediabetes. One solution to increase awareness of these risk communities is to provide comprehensive knowledge enhancement that screening with the measurement of the TyG Index and several body anthropometries is non-invasive, easy, and inexpensive to prevent the risk of prediabetes and its progression. The method of implementing this community service activity is providing motivation in the form of health promotion or counseling. Based on the data obtained from the activities that have been carried out, it can be concluded that there is a tendency that those who have a high BMI tend to have a high TyG Index as well. Therefore, it is recommended that patients always maintain and maintain their weight and abdominal circumference at normal limits according to age. As well as checking blood glucose levels, lipid profiles, and blood pressure regularly at the nearest health service, such as Posbindu or Puskesmas. Increasing comprehensive knowledge that screening with the measurement of the TyG Index and several body anthropometrics such as weight, height, and abdominal circumference is non-invasive and has become one of the solutions to increase awareness of the productive age community in preventing the risk of prediabetes and diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Efforts to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality through counseling and pregnancy risk screening in at Kelurahan Tuan Kentang Palembang. The maternal mortality rate in South Sumatra is still high. Maternal morbidity and mortality can be avoided by having regular antenatal care (ANC) visits. Although the coverage of ANC in Indonesia is increasing, the number in South Sumatra is still below the national average. Education is needed to increase the knowledge of mothers so that they routinely have pregnancy visits. The aim of the community service in Tuan Kentang Village are to improve knowledge of the importance of ANC and provide pregnancy risk screening to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. A total of 20 pregnant women participated in this activity. Only nine people (45%) performed ANC in sufficient numbers. Low level of education, lack of knowledge about ANC, and distance to health services are factors that prevent mothers from doing ANC. As many as 17 people (85%) had high risk pregnancies due to age, parity, previous pregnancy history, fetal abnormalities, maternal diseases related to pregnancy or infection, and gynecological disorders. Most of the participants did less ANC visits, and were in the high pregnancy risk category.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition of blood vessels that have high pressure. Hypertensive retinopathy is a complication of hypertension. The prevalence of hypertensive retinopathy varies between 2% -15%. There was lack of data regarding the prevalence of hypertensive retinopathy in Indonesia. Hypertensive retinopathy identification and diagnosis should be performed by an ophthalmologist. Most ophthalmologists are not assigned to primary health care. So that for cases of hypertension that can be resolved at primary health care such as Puskesmas, the true rate of hypertensive retinopathy is unknown. In addition, the patient's lack of awareness about routine eye examinations also causes the prevalence of hypertensive retinopathy to be unknown. This study aims to examine hypertensive retinopathy in hypertensive patients who are attending Puskesmas in Palembang, namely Puskesmas Dempo and Merdeka. The examination was carried out on 150 hypertensive patients. There were 15,3% patients with hypertensive retinopathy of which 10% had a history of hypertension more than 5 years and 5,3% less than 5 years. It could be argued that there are patients with hypertensive retinopathy who were undiagnosed in the community. The role of the Puskesmas in referring patients with hypertension to an ophthalmologist is very important so that the cases of hypertensive retinopathy could be detected immediately.
