Abstract

One of the metal welding processes required by the manufacturing industry is gas arc welding (GMAW). The welding process that is capable of transmitting large amounts of heat at high speeds is gas electric welding or GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding). The design mechanism for the movement of the X and Y axes in the development of GMAW welding holders uses the stages of finding ideas, studying literature, identifying problems, designing, making tools and testing machines. The purpose of this study was to design a mechanism for moving the X and Y axes in the development of an automatic GMAW torch holder machine and to calculate the machine elements in the development of an automatic GMAW torch holder machine. The process of designing and constructing the movement of the X and Y axes in the development of an automatic GMAW welding torch holder machine is carried out with a design procedure that is used as a reference in solving problems. The track shaft uses chrome steel with a diameter of 25 mm and a length of 800 mm, Linear bearings use type SCS25UU with an inner diameter of 25 mm, Linear rail shafts use aluminum alloy material with a diameter of 25 mm which is used to support the end of the track shaft, Ballscrew uses the SFU 2005 type with a size of 3/4 inch which is equipped with a ballscrew nut and also a nut housing, Bearing block uses a UCP type with a diameter of 20 mm, Flexible coupling measuring 5 mm to 10 mm is used to connect the drive screw with the stepper motor, The stepper motor is used as the main power to drive the drive screw type Nema 17 (17HD48002H-22B) with the specifications Step Angle: 1.8o, Rated Current: 1.5 Ampere, Voltage : 2.7V.

Abstract

Iron-based production machine components are chosen to support productivity. Steel is a metal material that is easily found on the market, but it has not fulfilled the desires of consumers in the market. This steel can be hardened by heat treatment (heat treatment). The surface treatment process is carried out to obtain the desired hardness, this can be done by increasing the carbon (C) element in the steel material, the carbon content in the standard steel structure is 0.3% - 0.59% the carbon content will have an effect. on hardness, one way to increase the element carbon (C) in steel and increase the hardness on its surface is by carburizing. This research will examine the hardness level of low carbon steel by using a pack carburizing process with different times of 2; 2.5 and 3 hours and the quenching process with pure water media.. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of holding time on the pack carburizing process with coconut shell charcoal - barium carbonat on the hardness value of ST 42 steel. Besides that for effect of holding time on the pack carburizing process with coconut shell charcoal on the microstructure. There are differences in the surface hardness and microstructure values ​​ before and after the carburizing process. Where the highest hardness value occurs at a holding time of 3 hours with a hardness value of 872.9 HVN or an increase of 382% of the raw material and is supported by the dominance of the martensite phase which is more and more evenly distributed. Compared to the ST 42 steel raw material before the pack carburizing process was carried out, the hardness value was 174.8 HVN. A dominant microstructure consisting of a ferrite phase and a little bit of pearlite dominance.

Abstract

Brakes are an important component in a vehicle unit, so it is necessary to have proper planning in the design and manufacture process. The purpose of this study is to design disc brakes on a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) car with consideration of the results of the calculation analysis based on the specifications of the reference car. The resulting design is in the form of main components which include calipers, pistons, discs, pads, rivets, pins and bolts. Based on this design, the calculation results show the braking process when a car traveling at a speed of 245 km/h can stop at a braking distance (s) of 42 m with a braking time 4 seconds. The next research is to make a mathematical model to optimize the dimensions of the brake components needed at the ideal braking distance.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the feasibility of producing briquettes from rubber wood and rice husks as a step towards sustainable energy diversification. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were conducted on the raw materials, considering their physical and chemical properties as well as calorific values. The production process involves drying, grinding, mixing, compacting, and forming using simple technology. Feasibility study results show positive attributes of the briquettes, with low ash content at 1%, high calorific value at 5016 kJ, and low moisture content at 0.9%. Briquettes offer potential as clean and efficient energy sources. Economic analysis reveals an NPV of IDR 407,729 and an IRR of 20%, surpassing the 12% case of capital rate. Overall, this briquette production signifies a viable and sustainable energy diversification effort, contributing to environmentally friendly energy source development.

Abstract

Catfish is a cultivated fishery commodity that has quite large business opportunities to be developed to fulfill community nutrition. Feeding in catfish farming is very important and is one of the things that really needs to be considered. Feeding must be planned so that catfish can grow optimally. Unscheduled feeding results in increased cannibalism among catfish. The use of an automation system must be implemented in order to make it easier and more efficient in feeding catfish. The research method used in writing this scientific work is by using literature study. The purpose of this writing is to find out and implement an automation system for feeding catfish to make it easier and more efficient in feeding catfish. The results obtained from this automatic tool can make it easier for humans to operate, so that it no longer needs to be powered manually. Just automatically use the feeder. In conclusion, the implementation of an automatic system using IoT and Arduino Uno has been proven to be able to streamline catfish feeding times.

Abstract

Proses pemisahan daging dan biji buah durian menggunakan cara manual memiliki kesulitan dan kelemahan yang membuat pekerja mengalami cidera pada jari tangan dan membutuhkan waktu serta tenaga yang banyak. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membuat sistem transmisi mesin pemisah daging buah dari biji durian serta melakukan pengujian fungsi dan hasil. Metode yang dilakukan melalui observasi langsung di UMKM untuk merealisasikan mesin tersebut. Hasil yang diperoleh berupa putaran output sebesar 200 rpm dengan kapasitas mesin 3 kg. Sistem transmisi yang digunakan pada mesin adalah puli dan sabuk-v tipe B dengan sumber penggerak berupa motor listrik AC 1 HP. Hasil pengujian fungsi terhadap sistem transmisi menunjukkan bahwa setiap komponen mesin dapat berfungsi dengan baik sesuai dengan fungsi serta mampu menghasilkan putaran 200 rpm sesuai yang direncanakan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan dengan 2 mata blade dengan waktu 30 detik menghasilkan jumlah rata – rata pemisahan sebesar 1.495 kg. Sedangkan dengan 3 mata blade dengan waktu 30 detik menghasilkan jumlah rata-rata pemisahan sebesar 1.580 kg. Jadi pengaduk dengan 3 mata blade lebih efisien untuk proses pemisahan daging buah dari biji durian.

Abstract

The car spare parts rack is one of the products ordered from PT. Y which is produced by PT. TH. Apart from that, PT. TH also accepts the shelf repair process if there is damage due to use. This research was conducted to find out the process of repairing car spare parts racks specifically for crash pad main assembly. The research method uses literature study and observation. Observations were carried out at PT. TH as the company in charge of repairing all rack spare parts from PT. Y. The shelf repair process generally includes steps to repair or restore the condition of damaged shelves, the process includes checking damage, measuring and cutting hollow steel for the shelf frame, welding process, cleaning welding marks, replacing shelf wheels, painting, installing parts. , installation of bases and roof racks, installation of rack covering mica, naming of racks and quality control process. Machines and equipment used in the shelf repair process include welding machines, grinders, hand drills, cutting wheels, compressors and anglers. This shelf repair procedure is in accordance with the SOP from PT. Y so that it can produce product improvements whose quality is guaranteed.

Abstract

Waste often becomes a problem for society. Pyrolysis is considered an effective solution to reduce waste and can produce end products that can be utilized as energy sources. This study uses HDPE plastic waste with variations in the addition of pine bark waste at 0%, 25%, 50%, and 75%, with a total mass of 500 grams and the addition of 100 grams of bentonite catalyst. The pyrolysis process is carried out for 120 minutes at a temperature of 320°C. The aim is to examine the effect of adding pine bark on the pyrolysis oil yield of HDPE plastic as an alternative fuel using parameters of fuel physical characteristics, including density, viscosity, and calorific value. The best results show that the variations of adding 50% and 75% pine bark waste have physical characteristics equivalent to B20 and B30 fuels, with density, viscosity, and calorific values of 0.8307 g/ml, 2.341 cSt, and 10,644.894 cal/g for the 50% pine bark variation, and 0.8367 g/ml, 2.467 cSt, and 10,491.863 cal/g for the 75% pine bark variation, respectively.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to lighten rice farmers and chili farmers so that there are no complaints of fatigue, joint pain because in perforating plastic it takes a long time to perforate. This tool method uses an electrical system which uses battery indicators and diameter sizes of 0.05 cm, 0.06 cm and 0.07 cm, so that it can make it easier for farmers according to the size to be used. This study was designed with an electrical system using 4 lithium batteries. The level of effectiveness of the resulting time in plastic holes with an area of 12 m2 is 10 minutes for 70 plastic holes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana prosedur Quality Control pada line quality control dan finishing pada workshop Patec Presisi Enginering di PT. T Bekasi, Jawa Barat. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, yaitu mengamati langsung objek yang diteliti. Beberapa tahapan quality control yaitu tahapan uji visual, uji ukuran,dan penerapan pada jig hingga perbaikan produk yang memungkinkan untuk di perbaiki hingga produk memenuhi standar yang di tetapkan di workshop Patec Presisi Enginering. Hal yang harus diperhatikan sebelum dilakukan proses Quality Control yaitu menyiapkan alat ukur dan serta menyiapkan bahan yang digunakan. Adapun langkah Quality control yaitu pengujian visual, pengujian ukuran, pencocokan Jig dan pemberian marking. Jika terdapat kasus produk yang NG atau tidak lolos uji maka dilakukan proses pengerjaan ulang seperti pengikiran dan pengamplasan ulang pada bagian yang perlu di perbaiki. Pelaksanaan prosedur quality control pada PT. T Bekasi, Jawa Barat sudah memiliki prosedur yang efektif dan efisien karena tidak menghambat jalannya proses produksi meskipun ada beberapa kendala yang disebabkan oleh human error dan tidak dapat dihindari namun masih dapat diminimalisir.
